1. I have no idea how they got there, I thought all I did was hit quote.
 2.

Fair enough. If I understand you, you claim that NU may have committed some sort of unknown violations. So NU fans shouldn’t criticize USC?

Well let’s look at this year’s scandals for the two schools to get a perspective:

Things NU fans are up in arms about: some players were given the recommended textbooks for their courses instead of just the required text books. Another kid slides his smartcar on the ice, and walks home. Another kid gets busted by the LPD for keeping warm in his car, and he blows 0.1 bac—which is about 2 ½ beers.

NCAA violation that (some) USC fans see no problem with: $55,000 improper hotel benefits to players. Recruiting violations. Ineligible players. Running a sham charitable organization to direct recruits to USC

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there seems to be a bit of a disconnect between what constitutes a scandal in Lincoln and the multiple NCAA Violations being orchestrated by the folks in Columbia and their fat-wallet boosters.

Yeah you're wrong on a couple points.

1.) Fat Wallet boosters had nothing to do with this. (That's osu, miss state, or allbarn you're thinking of)

2.) SAM is not a sham, it's a good organization that does not just send kids to USC. It creates opportunity for inner city youth athletes to visit schools, like Shariif Floyd at UF.

3.) I never said anything about NU's recent players arrests/tickets in comparison to our violations. (we all have players who make bad decisions with alcohol and/or driving.)

4.) NU did commit those violations and admitted it.

My point is: the idea of a perfect/clean program is great and every organization should aspire to that and have controls in place to execute on that ideal. However, almost all programs make mistakes (I couldn't find any record of a single program that has never had an NCAA violation, and my guess is that there is not,) so you're right in saying that what we did is wrong, but to paint USC in a picture of scandal and conspiracy is incorrect. USC never tried to hide this infraction from the NCAA, they were forthright with the error, and offered self imposed penalties (including punishing the compliance officer at fault.) Whether or not the NCAA accepts them, we won't know until February or later.

 3.

That's pretty funny...I will be moving to Fountain Inn in June, and so this is USC's chance to audition for my local partiality once I'm there. Honestly, I've leaned towards Clemson most of my life when it comes to the Palmetto state teams, as my parents are from the Easley area...but got some diehard Gamecock fans for cousins who are doing some recruiting...should be a lot better than Alabama/Auburn, as I never liked either one all that much...but more partial to the Tigers because of their fans being better and more realistic...

For where you're moving to, and after reading the post, you'll have a better time being a tiger fan.
 4. THIS is what I'm hearing: blah blah blah / excuse / excuse / rationalization / blah blah blah Yeah, but you left out where I said blah ba-blah-blah-bl-bl-blah, yackety shmackety. Our program broke the rules, the athletes weren't really at fault, they were failed by the compliance office. You know these kind of mistakes happen everywhere, even in Lincoln, as recent as this year. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/campusrivalry/post/2011/07/nebraska-ncaa-violation-textbooks/1 What's important is that the people guilty understand their faults, are punished, and find ways to stop the mistakes from happening again.
 5. Yeah, the players should definitely stay away from Twitter until after the last game. Tahj Boyd kept tweeting, in a negative conxtext, this season about our coaches, players and defense. That gave a bunch of fuel to our guys and ended with Melvin Ingram sacking him, standing over him and saying, "You need to stop Tweeting." Also it led to this funny pic
 6. The Whitney Hotel thing wasn't really the athletes fault, they were given the OK by the compliance officer, b/c she saw that they would be spending the same amount of money if they were living in an apartment. She's since been demoted. The SAM thing, I have a big problem with. SAM is an organization who reaches out to poor inner city youth athletes and tries to help them get to college. Its design and intentions are noble, and we weren't the only school who had students come from SAM visits (Shariff Floyd used SAM and went to UF). Since when did helping the less fortunate become a punishable offense?!?! Yeah, I have a problem with that.
 7. All these polls and lists are totally subjective as it's people that are picking them. The SEC has a sweet deal with ESPN, which gets the teams a lot of exposure, so a lot of people who make these lists see our players. Maybe someday someone will make the BCS of All American lists and have computers factor in strength of schedule, stats and other measures. Jeremy Grove, LB from ecu, had crazy stats this season, which were much better than other guys on the AP All American list. Although he did get on a couple All Freshman All American Lists.
 8. So, is Caputo playing or not during the bowl game? I would assume the 2 guys who just got tickets are playing, is that correct?
 9. Yep, this one is actually pretty darn close. Maybe Wes can serve as his body double when Shaw makes it big in the Pros.
 10. You have no idea how close you actually are in that comparison....
 11. USC has had their share of arrests/citations, heck Clowney got cuffed on suspicion before he even got to school. However, 3 auto related tickets/arrests over 1 weekend....Y'all need to implement a mandatory Driver's Ed class for the football team asap.
 12. Herc, they're lulling us into a false sense of security. They want us to load the box when they go 5 wide.... These Gamecock fans, they are a shifty bunch... The Jig is UP!!! Oh well, Back to the Cockingboard....
 13. Wouldn't know about the buffets, but it seems like they have A LOT of really good restaurants and sports bars with quality food. Well one of the guys in this pick just got the kansas HC job, but it's the one in the back looking like he just spotted an open box of doughnuts.
 14. That would be accurate. What's lost in the final score of that game, 45-42, was that we scored 3 TD's from either Defense or Special Teams. We had a Fumble recovery by Ingram for a TD, a pick-6 by Allen, and a 68 yard fake punt TD by Ingram (our All Amercian DE.) That game was in Athens too, so that helped their defense out a whole lot. Though, we also beat them up on the ground game, Lattimore had 176 yards on 27 carries
 15. Alshon had huge production his first 2 seasons. This year our play selection seemed to change more. Early in the year, when Garcia was the QB, he threw a twice as many INT's than TD's, and we were around 50% on completions, so we went away from passing so much. It behooved us b/c Lattimore was tearing teams apart in the running game. We have 4 players who have rushed more than 30 times this year, and who have an average greater than 4 yards a carry, so we are primarily a running offense. I'm sure if we aired it out like Houston and committed to throwing 40 times a game, then AJ's stats would be better, but that's not the team for the skills that we have. AJ has also been in double coverage for most of the season, teams remembered what happened when they went 1-1 with him or have seen the film. He's physically a big WR with a sick vertical leap and great hands. He wins a whole lot of jump balls and he's also strong enough to break away from jamming him at the line. I'm sure Dennard is an awesome DB, but going against a 1st Rounder like AJ, one-on-one, isn't the best plan. If he can do it and have success, well that'll suck for us, but I think AJ is just a nasty mismatch for any DB.
 16. We just aren't playing well, and we haven't for a couple years now. Dave Odom had minor success a few years ago, winning back to back NIT Championships, but we got an "up and coming" coach from Western Kentucky who had his best year his first year with Odom's players. Now we have had success in recruiting the past 3 years (this year not so much though), but we can't keep guys on the team (transfer or told they are going to be benched and quit.) Also, our Point Guard, Bruce Ellington, is really good, but he also plays football for us, so the team hasn't had him until the most recent game. Everything is up in the air with the BBall program right now, we'll have to wait to see how the season/recruiting goes before or if anything is done.
 17. Not to give away too many secrets, but I found some ways y'all could stop Shaw... But most likely, try this...
 18. I like the avatar of tebow, but here's my favorite pick of the good friar. Thanks for the link to the iowa game.
 19. This should be the case if Spurrier turns down the bowl uniform idea UA is pitching. He's ok'd new gloves and cleats for the bowl but he's up in the air about breaking out new jerseys... (Spurrier loves traditional uniforms) Oh lord, not another Under Armour debacle. I was hyped for the Project Wounded Warrior camo jerseys this year (not for the look of them though, I just liked the idea of supporting the Vets,) so I was peeved when I heard the ref's said we couldn't use them b/c the jersey numbers were hard to read. If we do use new jerseys, they better get them approved ahead of time.
 20. Were there any major changes to the depth chart for Nebraska since the Wisc. game? (inuries, benching, etc....) I'm trying to see who to look for during our game.
 21. Shaw's been a starter for the past 7 games, and he played good defenses. To put what I'm about to say in perspective, Nebraska is ranked #36 in the nation for Total Defense. - Florida is ranked #9 in total defense. Shaw ran for nearly 100 yards and 2 TD's. - Tennessee is ranked #28 in total defense. Shaw ran for 64 yards, 1 Rushing TD, and went 10-18 and threw a Passing TD. We really had WIlds run the ball most of the game, as he was avg'ing more than 5 yards a carry. - Miss State is ranked #43 in total defense. Shaw was 20 for 28 in completions and threw the game winning TD in the closing minutes. http://espn.go.com/c...292/connor-shaw http://web1.ncaa.org...g&div=IA&dest=O Shaw had his best games the last 2 games of the season against avg defenses of The Citadel and clemson (#59). Combining those 2 games, Shaw went 30 for 38, with 6 Passing TD's, 1 INT, 30 Rushes for 197 yards, and 2 Rushing TD's, with 0 fumbles. My point to all of this being, HE HAS played good defenses and performed well enough to win 6 of 7 games. I don't think Shaw is an RBGIII or anything, and I'm not saying that Shaw is going to explode this coming game, but he can sure enough do is manage a game even against tough defenses. Again, he played one good team at home and won. He played Arkansas and got it handed to him. Please stop with the Florida talk, stats, in this case, don't show anything. That team let up 22 points or something like that to some DII team in the first half. Who did he beat that was good? Just Clemson? That's odd to think the only good defense we played is clempson. If one doesn't think stats and real data are relative then I don't know how to get them to see it another way. I can't debate feelings. Shaw doesn't play on defense or special teams so the stats he produced in his position are relative to the performance you're judging. Saying that the team lost to arkansas, while true, isn't the say-all for how Shaw did that game. After all, he can only control what he does with the ball in his hands and his stats were decent in all of those games I listed, he managed the games pretty well. Not to take away from our win against clempson, they did win their conference, but espn ranks the ACC as the sixth best conference...right behind the Mountain West Conference. http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/33005/acc-slips-in-conference-power-rankings
 22. I don't think any NU fan would label this year's D "tough." Well, except to watch at times. Y'all don't need to feel down about your Defense, #36 in Total Defense is in the top third of NCAAFB, also ranked #17 Passing Defense, #39 Scoring Defense...ok now I see why y'all are concerned with Shaw, NU's #66 against the run.

 24. Yep, KC has been a valued member of HuskerBoard since the 2008 Gator Bowl. He's good people, just like it seems the SC fans are good people. Go figure, since you all come from the same state. Maybe we could build bridges. Maybe HuskerBoard could be the Jimmy Carter to your Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin. Here's hoping. haha, Huskerboard=Camp David...at least until Cacti invites his friends over, then it's time to reactive all of those word filters you had to change for the c$%ks!
