  1. Mike expects NU to be good this year. Mike likes the team attitude and camaraderie. NU interceptions thrown this year is going down. NU's run game will be better this year. NU's big play defense will be much improved. Pretty sure that's what Mike said.
  2. Tebow appears to have done OK following that short speech. 3. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/04/florida-gators-nfl-draft-busts-schools 15 years of round 1 picks. NU isn't on the bad list here. This list makes more sense
  4. Is there anyone who wanted Bo to stay considering only the results in games and recruiting? Me, not a chance. I wanted him gone, the sooner the better. Bo, Beck and JP. That trio is not even close to measuring up to the pay and expected performance of NU football.
  5. Zero chance BIG takes 4 NoCar schools. 0% chance it takes 3. IMO.
  6. Nanni used bizarre made up metrics. If you're going to make something up (a heuristic) at least it shouldn't be lame. Here's what would work ok (imo) 1. 3 x probowl years plus 2 x nonprobowl starter years plus non starter years (the last two converted to decimal years from game start data) that is the total player value 2. total draft value "paid" for the school's players (something like 10 for 1's, 7 for 2's , then 4, 3, 2, 1 (there are metrics on draft position and "value") 1 above (total player value) / 2 above total draft "cost paid" for the players Edited to say...I should have stayed out of this. Nanni is only talking about round one and I wouldn't ever do a round one only analysis by school (nor would I chose an arbitrary number of years to look back as I'd want to use different start years for schools for example Kansas State or Oregon as opposed to Notre Dame USC Alabama and Ohio State)
  7. You were rolling until the NC State and Wake (omg that one had to have been a joke right?) comment.
  8. Good post. On board with all of it. Seems I've read here and elsewhere that bopo had some power supporters still in '13. And SE was so new. Oh well one more year of him didn't kill the program.
  9. Inadequate coaching was the single biggest thing if we're talking about 11-2 type seasons vs. NU's 2002-2015 years. I'd go turnovers second but that highly correlated with NU's starting QB's with TM leading the nation 3 years running on fumbles and TA second last year in interceptions.
  10. You assumed that I assumed but actually I did not assume. Taken steps and solution are different btw. Do they have it solved? Have a link? OU is not a big tv market. OU provides additional national interest however so they'd get a thumbs up for adding value on TV revenue and very few schools can do that. You say TV markets are bigger than academics and I say they are both required. OU's not getting in without Texas; IMO.
  11. Oklahoma came out and said they want to juislce up academics. What that consists of I'm not sure. I think the whole AAU thing went out the window when we lost our status. If Delaney can add the OU TV market, he is going to do it. You think wrong about "out the window." Yes OU is talking/trying to juice up academics but it won't be sufficient. Many schools want to be top 50 or 80 or whatever but in the end there are only 80 slots. Delany is not getting OU in (if he wants to) unless he changes the minds of Univ Pres's on academics. Texas alongside might do that. Remember also that OU would need to split from nottheOSU and T. Boone and politicians are in the way there.
  12. I sit in row 5 and like it. You can't see some sideline action on your side...that would be the "obstruction". But you pretty much already know what's going to happen there and the big screens are rolling. The required donation map/graphic will show you the relative value of the seats. That's all you need to use to figure it out unless you have personal preferences that you think aren't "average". I have personal reasons to prefer east and south seats. I also don't care if the area is often standing or more like "down in front". My section is up and down, lol, and nobody (thankfully) ever says down in front.
  13. $30M per year less TV money for OU compared to Purdue in 2018...that might be a good reason. BIG boss Delany said high academics would be required of potential new adds. That pretty much means AAU unless you are Notre Dame. OU isn't AAU. I'd like OU/KU added but I don't think it will happen unless Texass is in also.

    Tim Beck

Beck was obviously hated by many, but I do think Martinez and Armstrong improved under his command. Of course, they are not top-notch NFL talents, but they did develop. Armstrong's QB Rating, YPA, and Interceptions have regressed since Beck left, as long as our offense's PPG and YPP. I hope they all improve in Year Two under Langsdorf. Completion percentage increased. Yardage increased. Tiny drop in "rating" came from too many picks which DL and MR did not coach him to throw. Abdul was departed from the team last year. That probably didn't hurt offensive stats though.
  15. I was sort of messing with you Enhance with the "me" crack. The -1 didn't work before cause the logic used was poor. Autopilot flies airplanes so it's not like this simple issue is complicated to automate a bit. I agree with 1HuskerDad above and disagree with Knapplc above. There are far too many sh*y posts and they come from a tiny fraction of the posters. BTW I'm sort of arguing not for me but for others. I had enough last October and went on a massive blockfest.
  16. So CM agrees with the previous post and gets 2 +1s, while the post with the actual observation gets 0? Can someone tell me how this keeps happening? Sure. The admins refuse to turn on -1 voting so dipwads dipsh*t away with near impunity and they +1 each other regularly. I don't miss the -1. It turned off a lot of posters when they'd have one dissenting opinion and get -1'd into oblivion. Besides, the +1 works as a negative system as well. Conclusions can be drawn from someone with posts that aren't +1'd very often. Maybe you meant to say "me" when you said "a lot of posters when they have one dissenting opinion" I don't even recall -1 voting here but it's like anything, you can do something well or do something poorly. Perhaps it was done poorly here (and I mean stupid program logic not stupid poster behavior. Good logic can remove the vast majority of that).
  17. It seems a lot like spring ball just ended. OMG. When will late August ever come.
  18. Nope, Redux. This aint rocket science but it's a little bit of rocket science. -1 alone will show you a heck of a lot more than you think. But having said that you'd also imploy (definitely)automated rules that would limit your voting (earned) quota and would limit your voting on particular posters as well. For example a rule I'd use for sure is only one vote can be made from person A to person B in a thread. Boom. Herein ends the problem Guy was talking about in this thread.
  19. So CM agrees with the previous post and gets 2 +1s, while the post with the actual observation gets 0? Can someone tell me how this keeps happening? Sure. The admins refuse to turn on -1 voting so dipwads dipsh*t away with near impunity and they +1 each other regularly.
  20. They'll probably return now with the DOJ sniffing around. Saban to camp in NE? Seems an unlikely strategery.
  21. Great op Savage Husker. Faux wrote an excellent piece. Dude has talent.
