There has been smoke to the OU move fot about a year now, I would be shocked if there wasn't any discussion currently taking place. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/78792-ou-to-b1g-media-friend-says-there-are-talks/ Not sure why on earth OU would want to leave the B12--with all their natural, regional, traditional foes nearby--and form the far SW wing of the B1G, but stranger things have happened, I guess, like NU going into the B1G--who's idea was that? I think most of this reallignment stuff is alot of phooey, like I already don't care about most the teams we play in the B1G, like Purdue, ILL, Indiana--I couldn't name one player on any of those teams and the games come and go and I'm like "so what?". We could play Purdue or ILL a million times and I would still be "whatever". Then they add Rutgers and MD and again, we beat Rutgers and it's like, "so what?, why'd we even play that team"? We only play the good, meaningful teams outside our division like once every 3-4 years, the conference is TOO BIG! The only game in our division that I care a little bit about is Wiscy, just because I hate Wiscy, and to a lesser degree jNU or IA, but I could really care less if we played IA or not. I dunno, going to take a long time to build up an identity within the B1G, I'll prlly be dead before then. What did I just read

Chances of dropping Adidas after our contract is up?
bisonwiches replied to RikeMiley's topic in Husker Football
Agree. The whole adizero line is pretty nice. Been noticing a lot of #threestripelife tweets as well. If we went anywhere I'd prefer it to be Under Armour, just not a big Nike fan these days.... I think it's mostly because of the Michigan deal -
RB Kylin Hill [Mississippi State - Signed LOI]
bisonwiches replied to Mavric's topic in 2017 Profiles
That's what I gathered, it's all about followers. My guess is Miss St. -
I was happy with the group as a whole. Newby changed his tune a bit, looks tougher/stronger and more confident. Wilbon really impressed, looked the most like a three down back imho. Ozigbo reminds me of Castille a bit

McMullen Taking Leave of Absence - Retiring from Football
bisonwiches replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
This. If what Riley says is true then I am proud of McMullen. I do wonder what that DL room was like last year and what was really happening there. Two go to the draft early, 2 leave, 1 coach fired. That isn't normal. Wasn't there word floating around for a bit that said VV's main reason for leaving was he didn't want to play for Hughes? -
Thought he may have been related to Justin Pugh, none that I can find.

Huskers Change Special Teams Practice Approach
bisonwiches replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
if somebody took Bruce read I'd thank them. lol Going by that Florida International was 17th overall. Their ST coach was Shannon Moore, he is from my hometown (Gordon, NE up in the panhandle). He just signed on at East Carolina... His last year at FIU he made like $122,000, imagine he's around $150k now, but he'd be a guy I'd like to see coaching at UNL someday -
If this is 100% accurate, then just wait until he can add in the academic support, great facilities, great game day atmosphere and the rabid fan base. If this is true, and we can get him here for a visit or a game, HE is N. Pump to brakes, Matty. Let's see if he even visits before declaring him N. LOL, to be fair, I said IF he visits. Also, Warrior, of course they consider Alabama as the real competition. I bet Alabama didn't think they were going to have so much tug from Nebraska for KJJ either. LOL at your use of the word tug... But I think with Saban losing top assistants this off season we may see a down year recruiting wise for Alabama, a down year being maybe 5-8 nationally
-
And not just Cali kids but highly rated Cali kids, they all seem to be 4 stars according to at least 2/4 recruiting services. I think beating UCLA in the bowl game is still fresh in these kids mind as well as KJJ committing
-
I could see this kid being a hybrid TE, able to line up outside or inside. Gets a lot of toughness from being a LB on D.... Get him to 235-240 and OMG
-
Both he and Lamar's were good. Bleacher Report is doing a good job and not over the top.... Remember the kicker with like the plane and all that jazz?? Hahah
-
You can see the excitement on his face, it's also pretty awesome hearing he's got to get recruiting
-
Just friendly jabs I was wondering, dudes that age take their hair serious.

Him and McQuitty been knocking one another all day of Twitter, don't know if real or what

I honestly think both KJJ and Holmes are down with coming here, I don't think Gebbia is too keen on it. I think unless POB beats out Tommy, then he will redshirt. In that scenario even with a redshirt for Gebbia he is waiting a long while to get his shot. I think KJJ is contributing as RS Frosh and Darnay walks in #1 on the depth chart on day one. We always hear about these kids wanting to stick together, but rarely does a group of 3 actually end up doing so. And I think there is good reason we are pursuing that other QB pretty hard
-
I feel the same. He seems to be the leader of the little clique out there in Cali and in my opinion is the only reason we are in on Gebbia and Holmes. But the whole reason that KJJ showed interest in us wasn't because of our sellout streak or traditions that we've got, it was because of the respect that KJ Sr. has for Riley as a football coach, a football mind that helped make Keyshawn the #1 overall pick in 96 and for the things that Riley taught him that stuck with him throughout his career. If we end up with the Calabassas crew, we have to give a huge shout out to Sr. for opening that door.

JUCO TE Jeremy Patton [Arkansas - Signed LOI]
bisonwiches replied to Mavric's topic in 2017 Profiles
I wish the Arizona Western connection (Randy) paid off more or was worth something. Though I think the Randy connection helped with Collin Miller, I'd love to start getting some guys like this. I feel he'd be a beast in this system. -
That one still hurts, seen him ranked by Kiper I believe in the top five at his position
-
Compared to last year his Sparq score would rank him mid 50's overall, roughly 30 spots ahead of where NoahFant ended up and we were all pretty jazzed about his ratings. Pretty excited about this kid. http://www.studentsports.com/football/2015/03/02/2015-nike-football-rating-leaderboard/

Hip Hip

I could see him transferring to a place like Georgia Southern maybe Jacksonville State so that he could stay at QB, which still could happen this year, just after this semester of school

I think the potential sanctions down at Ole Miss might make HCMR leary. I agree with this. Too much of a risk especially if the some of the investigations zero in on Kiffin. I don't know what the implications could be for him for this season. The bad publicity from it would also be stressful. I can't imagine how many threads alone would be created on this board if that happened. I really don't won't more drama. To be fair I did say if he is not involved in the sanctions
-
I saw somewhere on here that McClure would make sense because he knows what to expect living in Lincoln as he has in the past, which got me thinking, I think Chris Kiffin makes the most sense. He is one hell of a recruiter(Primary on both (Tunsil and Treadwell), his group has performed better than UCLA's and he too knows what it is like to live in Lincoln.. His wife Angela was on Yori's staff from 2002-2010 as well as being a Creighton alum. I don't know if I am reaching or what, but as long as he isn't involved in these sanctions I am all for Chris.
-
In regard to living here and fitting in Chris Kiffin makes a lot of sense, his wife was on Yuri's staff for a number of years

The next person we need to lock in yesterday is Williams, I love what he brings to the table. He's got to bre high on others list but hopefully his son coming in helps keep him here.
