As an NU fn for the last 28 years, I concur...Yes it is funny how things change.

Taylor, Beck, and incoming Freeman; finally having options and a choice. All will be competing for time. Taylor will be the obvious starter, but watch for Beck to get much more playing time next year. Unless Taylor gets hurt, I don't think Beck sees the field this year (what would be the point). Yes Beck could get some experience, but why burn a year for a few plays. I look for Freeman to redshirt his first year, while he learns the offense, I think Beck is doing that right know. QB will not be a problem in the distant future, but all would do better with the building of a decent offensive line.

Agree...There would be something really wrong if it is just becoming a priority. Although, it seemed they forgot about that priority against MU. The interior line is doing well, they just need to find someone (anyone...please) to replace Thomas and Evwaraye.

I would say Taylor. He is doing a good job. He would be doing a great job if his OL would step up. I have never seen Beck play, so I could not really say how well he can do.

The problem with the O(this game) was not the receivers, IMO it was the O-Line. You could have WRs that were 6.5 and ran 4 flat and it wouldn't change that Taylor couldn't throw to them while lying on his back.

The 3man front was not the whole problem. The problem is that the 3 man front was obviously not working and no change was made. The LBs were over-pursuing and leaving the middle open. A 4man front can clog running lanes and slow a runners momentum, without having to use the LBs to do it. They need some LBs to stay home, but two were in coverage or blitzing the exterior, the other two were used to fill holes in the middle. Once Smith got by the LBs filling holes, oops nobody in the backfield.

I would give him C- (at best). He had many player overpursuing in the backfield. Many out of position. He failed to put pressure on Smith. Most of the game he had all day to do whatever he wanted. Yes he is a very talented QB, but he does not need more help from us. They scored 41 on us, since when can another team put up 41 on you and have people say the DC did a good job?

So by your coment, do you mean since we praised him at one time, we must continue to praise him no matter what? We are NEVER allowed to be upset with him? Are we supposed to be happy with his coaching this week? Yes, I praised him last week and the week before. He ran some good schemes for the last few weeks. It is completely obvious that a 3 man rush was not working, but he kept using it. He obviously was not prepared to defend Smith, he ran VERY questionable schemes, and failed to find change up. I support him, but that does not mean that I cannot get pissed at him when he calls a game this poorly.

Evwervaye and Thomas are a constant problem. Evwavaye blew to plays in a row on a single series. Boy we must really have no depth at that position.

Maybe, Josh Freeman will be at the game.

I have checked out a couple. One message board I visited was the "The Football War Room". They really did not discuss football though. They mostly insulted Nebraska coaches, players, fans, and the state. There were a couple of NU fans that made posts on there. They were trying to actually make some points and debate a subject. They were met with juvenile remarks and attacks. So if you actually want to read or discuss the subject of football, I would look elsewhere.

Is that there student sec. behind our bench? I thought that was a Big 12 rule not do that. I think it is. Plus, did you see the tunnel that the players had to walk out of? The Baylor fans were right on top of them.

The trouble is not Ahman or the number of touches that he gets. The Packers lost two veteran offensive lineman to free agency in the off season. The other offensive linemen are awful at blocking. They also have only a couple of veteran receivers that are not injured. Bubba Franks, their starting TE is out as well. With lack of experince at TE and WR, Ahman gets poor down-field blocking. Not that it matters much, buecause he can't seem to get a block from his POOR offensive line. Sherman lost his line and not by his decision. I admit that he has had his problems, but many of the problems you see this year (poor draft picks, injuries, and players lost to free agency) are not his fault and are beyond his control.

Does anyone else think Hodges should be considered for the Heisman? Maybe not win it, but at least considered.

Notre Dame is probably saying the same thing about the distance between them and USC. Ratings are like politicians; you never know whether to believe them or not, they are most likely controlled by special interests, and rarely is the #1 spot held by someone that you like.

I am smelling a Humanities Professor here! Or possibly a one of the record 80 first team Academic All-Americans that have come out of the football program, or one of the 222 Academic All-Americans to come out of UNL athletics.

Wish I could have been there. If there was another side of the stadium that was similar to this pic, I stand in awe. Great job!! Gotta love the support the Huskers get in Texas. With all of the D1 schools in Texas, it is amazing the Huskers draw so much support down there. I guess people have good taste everywhere. A true example of Husker Nation.
