  1. That's a good pickup. Husker fans probably can't even remember what its like to have someone who isn't dependable at that spot. Hoping he is just like his brother.
  2. I know absolutely nothing about this kid or judging high school defensive tackles, but I'm going to trust the staff. Welcome to the program Kevin. I do like making any kind of inroads into Florida...the last week has been great for that.
  3. You really are from Iowa... None of you people have common sense whatsoever. Hey now!!! HAHA! Except for you apparently. People like Hedley run wild over there, it really makes the rest of the state look bad. Almost got into a scrap on the Iowa side of the river during the bowl game. Dude was wearing an Iowa sweat shirt. Every time UGA scored he'd cheer and I tell the bartender that I was done watching, he could turn it back to the Iowa Bowl Game. Never realized it was a big advantage to being a Husker fan in Wisconsin, but at least I don't have to deal with haters of the program unless they're playing the Badgers. Of course, it has not been fun for the past month....guess it evens out.
  4. I'm not falling for this again. Hopes up till Wednesday and then all bummed out.....not me, not this time. Ok, nevermind that.....I'm all in!!! Lets get this guy. If nothing else, it might quiet some of the negative folks.
  5. I don't see how Wisconsin can't respect NU--they basically are a carbon copy of the Huskers of the 80s, led by a Husker alum, wearing Husker colors Been telling folks that here ever since Barry turned it around. Once they get a bit educated, they reluctantly agree. Funny....all the people that thought the Huskers were a boring team way back when were pretty ecstatic when the Badgers started winning with that formula in the 90's.
  6. Don't think he deserves the incredible amount of criticism he gets. Makes mistakes, but is electric and has improved a great deal. Looks like he "gets" this offense now and I'm going to miss him when he's gone......after a great senior year.
  7. OSU, definitely. Fans are the worst, and too much success.....really tired of them. For everyone who states they got treated poorly in Madison (by the way, I had a great time in Madison and saw none of that)....give them time. The fan base is ok, although for a night game the students are rowdy and drunk, and it was a really big deal to beat Nebraska. Most of the people I know here in Wisconsin have a lot of respect for the Nebraska program.
  8. I guarantee Wisconsin plays to win. Brett B. is not bright enought to think about resting starters. In fact, if theres any true advantage we have over them besides a passing game, its coaching. I know alot of you rip on Beck, but the Wisconsin offense is way way way more predictable and worse..... and BB's game management is awful. If Bielema was the Nebraska coach, his xmas tree would be on fire right now.
  9. I want to think long term and the beauty of winning a Rose Bowl, but this Big 10 championship is soooo much more important for me, at least for now. Living in Badgerland as a Husker fan has not been so easy......I love my state but the fans can be a bit dickish when it comes to college football.....although I had a really fun night at a bar earlier this year. Honestly....can't really remember the very end of it. I will be in the belly of the beast next weekend....in Madison Saturday night. Will be particpating in a Santa Pub Crawl while watching the Huskers. If any other Huskers are in Madison Saturday, let me know and we shall join forces.
  10. I had serious doubts, because of our tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot. But then I remembered watching Big 10 football for the last 30 years. You don't have to be great, just good. Not to take anything away from the accomplishments of this group, it has been great and great to watch. I feel so good for the seniors and what they've done and I really think we're heading in the right direction. Can't say I've ever enjoyed a football season more than this one. I'm just a Big 10 hater, sitting in the middle of it in Wisconsin.
  11. I'm just real happy, thats all......but I could get a whole lot happier in the coming weeks.
  12. Lets worry, all games make us worry. Bucky is a physical team and probably the only team in the Big 10 with a running back stable like ours. What they don't have is a decent passing game. Cover Abraderis and hold Ball & White to 150 or so, and we win. Most importantly, I need this win as I sit here in Milwaukee, listening to way too many Badger fans jib jab. I will be in Madison next Saturday night for a Santa pub crawl. Me, my Husker brother and another Husker friend........amidst a whole lot of drunk Badger fans......wish me luck!
  13. Now that.....was not one of the problems that I accuse "you" of spelling out every week. Didn't see that coming.
  14. Can we talk to your boss about your schedule for the Big 10 Championship game?
  15. I'll define success by wins and losses, team gpa, and number of off field problems. Tom and I judge this season as a success.....so far.
  16. That raking leaves during the first half of all games would be a wise choice. And.....if you can go 8 - 0 against average at best teams, you're going to have a pretty successful year.....GBR!
  17. Yes, we all know there are problems with this team, and many of you spell them out every single week like beating a dead horse....but the Huskers provide the best 3 1/2 hours of entertainment every week. I can not remember a season where I've been on the edge of my seat every week, and every week it seems that the breaks come our way, our team rises to the occasion, and at the end of it.....I'm a little nauseous, fairly inebriated, and ecstatic. I would like a perfectly played game like everyone else, but in the meantime I'll be perfectly content with exciting Wins. Getting through the last 5 games at 4-1 is fairly remarkable and being 8-2 when the big 10 did everything they could do to screw us on the schedule is fairly remarkable. Winning close games benefits the program so much. You know these kids know they are never out of a game. Being a lifelong Husker, living in Wisconsin, I've put up with plenty of crap from the locals. This year, regardless of warts, has been fun as heck and even though I think the Badgers are righting the ship, I can't wait to beat them again in Indy. I hope alot of you are enjoying this too, instead of focusing on all of the negatives. If you do focus on the negatives, you might just miss a conference championship and rose bowl win. ENJOY it, and GBR!!!
  18. We learned that its great fun watching Nebraska football again. I think alcoholism and coronary rates for Husker fans are skyrocketing this fall. Regardless, I'm loving watching them.
  19. I agree with that, he's frustrating to watch. He's shown improvement, but I wonder how far he can go. The OL pickups in the last two years, as well as Armstrong and maybe Fuller, give me alot of hope for the future. Next year might look like this year, but it's going to get better with some big ten experience.
  20. I'm encouraged by the recruiting in the past two years. More importantly, I've been in Big Ten Country my whole life, taken a lot of crap from Bucky supporters, and I absolutely know that Nebraska can compete for titles in this conference on a regular basis. Barry Alvarez used Nebraska's pattern to turn Wisconsin's program from garbage to perennial contenders. They didn't do it by becoming quarterback U, but by developing O-Lines. There are only two teams to truly fear in the B1G....OSU and to a lesser extent Michigan. No reason the Huskers can't compete for a conference title every year....and I can not wait to watch it happen. GBR!
