I don't know why they'd be on duty in McCook, though. They can certainly pursue you as far as they'd like. They are a real state police force.

Yes, I said NO FRICKEN THANKS. I want nothing to do with Auburn, and I dont anything Nebraska to resemble anything Auburn or SEC. If that means 9/10 wins every year, so be it. I'm fine with that. I will not sacrifice consistency and stability for a crystal football every few years. Just my opinion. I don't want a national title because the SEC wins and competes for them all the time.

I think it might be easier, as a fan and observer, to consider the conference championships to be a sort of "first round" of playoffs. Yeah, maybe a 2 or 3 loss team gives an undefeated team their only loss, but isn't that what playoffs are for in the first place?

I was arguing with someone about how meaningless it was to have the '11 title game decided as a division championship (not even conference!). It proved nothing, NOTHING about the supposed dominance of the SEC when two SEC teams back into the national title game because they beat other SEC teams. It's just an incestuous championship and should be asterisked in the record books. Seriously... sorry... I'm way more upset about that game now than I was then.

It was set up perfectly. He's just got to catch it and take off down the field. He had a big drop on an option play earlier in the year didn't he? Same kind of deal. When you don't get a lot of touches, you've gotta make the most of what you get. Was less than impressed w/ Newby this year - considering how well some of our recent freshman backs have performed. I wonder if he was trying to do to much, given his limited opportunities. Worried too much about making a big play instead of the routine one. ... This make the most sense. In the slow-mo replay of that dropped shovel pass, you could see him take his eyes off the ball and start making his play before he had control. It was just a fraction of a second too quick.

THere would have been at least one column with the headline: "Alabama's Case for a National Title." They'd go on and on about how they REALLY deserve it if FSU wins (or loses, I guess), and how they're really, honestly, the most best team in the world.

i believe they won the conference last year. but, still, those two points, especially the second one, blow my mind. Yeah, the BCS is pretty messed up that it basically decided that the national championship should be an SEC division championship in 2011. Really stupid.

I have never seen anything like that! They had the narrative all planned out: Hero Alabama Quarterback was going to save the day in the last minute. It was going to e one for the history books. ESPN had their chapstick on in thick, thick layers, but BAM! This is the BEST ending!!

For the game, we threw 16 times and ran 43 times. In the second half, we threw 7 times and ran 23 times. In the fourth quarter, we threw 4 times and ran 13 times. We threw once in the last 10 minutes (on third down) - the other three were on 2nd or 3rd and 8+. This was in a game we won by 5. Are people only going to be happy if we never pass? I'm out of upvotes, but know that I'm upvoting you in my heart.
