I'm pretty sure we are getting a snow day in Broken Bow tomorrow. The superintendent hasn't announced one yet, but I think it is inevitable.

I think it's time for Miles to go, but I'm still watching and supporting the team. That's what we do!

There is also a fundraising portion where kids get bikes if they raise enough money. It's based off of charity and then it goes to votes for kids that don't raise enough money. I think it's a great way to get an adaptive bike. Thanks for the vote Clifford!

Think of it as taking a square and slowly squishing it. The area inside keeps getting smaller and smaller until it is eventually gone.  A 5 x 5 square would turn in to a 4 x 6 and then a 3 x 7 and so on.

In the Deed, I agree that it does help not being the head coach. I was a head coach for 14 years and now I'm an assistant coach and it's amazing how little stress there is. I also have way too much going on at home, which is why I stepped down last year. I can't predict the future, but I might not ever be a head coach again. 

I have coached girls and boys basketball for the last 18 years and I would agree that girls are much easier to coach than boys. The main reason is that girls, for the most part, still listen to you. Boys all think they have the game figured out and don't think you know what you are talking about. I always go in to the girls season the same way every year, I tell them flat out that I don't care about their drama and I won't listen to it. I'm up front with my expectations and it usually helps. 

I just Googled it and it says that he said: "You are where you don't belong." It says that they are very territorial. 

What I'm saying with the jump stop is: your are technically allowed 1 and a half steps after you pick up your dribble. A jump stop is perfectly fine as long as you didn't take a step before it and after you pick the ball up. I would say that the jump stop is one that rarely gets called out of all three of the ones mentioned. The Eurostep and the moving screen get called a lot, but the jump stop is rarely called.

The Eurostep is a tough one. It can easily be a travel if you don't pick the ball up at the right time. It's the same thing as a jump stop. If you pick your dribble up too early, it's definitely a travel. The moving screen should always be called as a foul in my opinion and I think more refs are calling those fouls. I coach high school basketball and these are the things we tell our athletes. 

I definitely post more at work. I hardly ever check it at home and I don't check it on my cell phone. 

I lurk on here almost every day. I mainly stick to the recruiting section because it is something that I really follow and something I'm interested in. I agree that a lot of times I don't contribute because most things have already been said. I laugh a lot at the back and forth with some people and how worked up some people get. I also get a chuckle out of some people that come on here and think they are experts and think that their opinion has to be fact. It's entertainment for me during a day of teaching.

If they have it open, my son (9) really enjoyed the sting ray exhibit where you can touch the sting rays. He also really enjoyed the aquarium and the swamp. The desert dome wasn't the best in his opinion. He also liked the monkeys and the giraffes.

I don't think it's the funniest, but Revenge of the Nerds needs to be mentioned.

I love all the kids that come in the last week and ask what they can do to bump their grade up. My usual response: "invent a time machine and go back in time to kick yourself in the butt and tell yourself to work harder throughout the year."

Don't blame him. He's too good to be sitting the bench for the next couple of years. 

One hard thing is when you have school board members that don't really support the school. They are just there for their own agenda and make things tough to educate the youth of the community.

I agree, most students tend to work harder and quieter if they are listening to music. It has been a lot easier to control here in a class C-1 school than it was at the class A school I was at though. More respectful kids here for the most part.
