  1. Frosty had no problem moving the ball when our o line didnt false start or hold all the time, he failed miserably translating it to 7 in the red zone
  2. Great, we're the number 1 ranked running team in the big 10. 804 of those yards come from the qb, a lot of which come on big chunk plays on broken pass plays. Our QBs account for 42% of our rushes. Our scoring is almost dead last, slightly above Iowa. We rank 125th out of 130 in red zone efficency. You know, the area where having "the top ranked running attack" in the big 10 should be a big advantage for us But you know, these are just cherry picked stats. Raiola is doing a phenomenal job.
  3. Agreed. If anything, saturday's game just gets me even more pissed off at the MSU and maryland games. Had we just played like 80% of what we showed against Wiscy, we'd be sitting at 7-4 right now heading into iowa week.
  4. Fully agree. Here's my list in order of priority: 1.QB- Already covered, 1 week ago i said no one in this years' qb room should be on the depth chart next year. If chubba plays well again this week I'll change that. Still think we need at least 1 qb transfer, potentially 2 2. O line improvement- its been cleaner than past years and there is improvement to speak of. Still dont feel great of our ability to really run on anyone consistently. You take away the long qb runs we've had on broken plays and our run game looks pitiful. 3. Find a DUDE on the d line- perhaps he's already in house and needs another year (lenhart). Nash has progressed tremendously, we''re still missing that one guy who commands a double every single play and can single handily wreck a team on any given day. 4. Continued depth at WR & big body receiver- I expected kemp to be a much bigger factor and a lot of it, outside of injuries, is probably more due to our qb situation. That being said, we sorely miss a big bodied receiver- I dont want another 5'8 wide out, go get a guy who can go over the middled or win a jump ball in the end zone. 5. Find a god damn punter who is somewhat accurate and at least consistent with distance and hang time, something our punters have been incapable of for years now
  5. That pull up on the potential block was so perplexing. For the return game, can we not just be playing DPE tape from a decade ago to show these youngins how its done? Never appreciated at the time just how valuable a return guy can be, particularly if you're a progrum focused on defense and field position.
  6. I dont think there's a right answer and any case can be made. I bolded your line above just to play devil's advocate... If I'm rhule, my mindset is, ok we're def in fg range and have TO's and time to work with- lets bleed this down on this play because what i dont want is to use a time out, then get stuffed on 2nd & 3rd, and potentially let wiscy stop the clock, and they get the ball with a min plus left to try and win. I dont know if the thought process above is right or not. But so often "clock management" gripes are defined by whether the actual play hits or not - if players execute and it goes right, the player is a hero, if it flubs and blows up in their face its the coach who screwed. Either scenario its the same coach who's more often than not going to make the same decision in the long run. All in all, this is just part of the process. Rather quickly we've gone from a team who gets blown out and man handled, to a team this year who's lost all close games (besides michigan) because of self inflicted turnovers and inevitable questions into "clock management" issues when the reality is its a 1st year staff trying to win with largely 2nd and 3rd stringers on offense. I hope next year this progresses into a gripe along the lines of "yeah we won these games by single digits but we couldve won by 20+... and then hopefully our biggest problem is why we lost a close game to ohio state in the big 10 title game.
  7. I’m not sure how you can say that in the bold when we lost against Maryland because our QBs had 5 turnovers. we lost to Michigan st because our qb was overthrowing and throwing pics all day we lost to minny largely due to 3 ints from our qb, one of which took 3 points off the board and the last one setup minny for game winning fg who knows what would’ve happened against Colorado but surely our qb getting the yips and dropping the snap multiple times and throwing a horrendous pick at our 30 did not do the team a favor. it’s not just qb play, injuries certainly have impacted us, as have embarrassingly poor special teams and general year 1 transition issues. But if you look at any one position group, qb, by far shoulders more blame than any other group
  8. Agreed. Outside of Michigan we were in every game because of defense. It’s been refreshing to see.
  9. I know most of our injuries are just horrendous luck but past few weeks I’ve been wondering if the offensive injuries are a by product of us hitting hard in practice. don’t get me wrong, the physicality of practice has shown up from week 1 with how sound this team has been at tackling (most weeks). But been wondering if part of our injury bug is due to our guys just taking shots consistently from our defense
  10. Unfortunately it is, last win was 2012 for us. Only saving grace is we didn’t play in 2013 lol
  11. I wish it was 7 years winless against them, isn’t it 10 now? Lol. Hot damn this sucks
  12. They arent pissy cause they're drunk, they're just hungover Yeah I agree, yesterday's result was fine- more than anything, yesterday is a hard lesson as to why no showing against MSU and the gaffes against maryland simply cant fly if we want to be taken seriously. Beating wiscy on the road, at night in nov, even with a shaky year 1 is always tough for a progrum in our spot. Coming out flat against a mess of a squad in MSU and playing a horrifically sloppy game at home against maryland is what really hurts and now we're paying the bill with a must win game against a ranked Iowa squad (which is 100% beatable, i have faith)
  13. I’m not disputing that. I was more pointing that out to a few posters who wanted to be more aggressive that last drive and be ok with a long fg to tie it, worst case. Wasn’t bagging on alvano, more so saying that’s asking a lot for us to rely on him in that situation when he’s already had an up and down year. buschini tho? A guy who was supposed to maybe catch the eyes of nfl teams with his leg? Dud
  14. lol, as much as I love a solid bet, im not expecting any staff changes either. But if there were to be one- raiola has to be the guy
  15. There really is no such thing as game management when your entire offense has zero strengths to lean on. At some point a player needs to make a play. Unfortunately we’re limited to trotting out players who should see at most 10 snaps a game or be on the practice squad look at belichik right now. Considered one of the greatest coaches ever and the pats are an embarrassment because the talent level is abysmal.
  16. No, I said I was gonna ignore you an hour ago and you decided to @gossamorharpy on a few of your posts. i was compelled to respond when I saw yet another one of your posts acting like we have a 1st round qb, all conf weapons and a kicker who can boot it 65 yards against the wind in a blizzard. but you’re right, this will be my last response to you. At the end of the day we both love and support the same team and just want to see a win. I’m sorry if I crossed the line, just felt like you took it to a personal level at first. Maybe some day we’ll all have a chuckle over this when we’re actually competent again.
  17. We will start to see things work when we have a functional line. We’ve been wondering in the desert for so long because our o line play went from a treasured asset to an after thought. my guess is raiola is canned after this season. No way satt is let go, him and Rhule r too close. The only bad thing about raiola leaving is we prolly lose that ol recruit from Hawaii.
  18. If Bonner just lays an arm on the guy it’s a 10 yard gain at a minimum. Instead, he’s f’n sprinting up field as a lead blocker and doesn’t even see the guy who ran right by him to get Purdy overall I agree tho. We just need to f’n scrap the read option, wr screen and option from the playbook. We don’t have the guys to run it. we really don’t have the guys to run anything but a slow developing play requiring quick decision making behind the LoS certainly isn’t ideal for us
  19. Just stop moraine. Is this the first husker game you’ve watched all year. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOW RISK PLAYS FOR THIS TEAM. we have a qb who can’t field a snap. We have qbs who can’t execute basic read options. We have qbs who throw it right to the other team time and time again. We have receivers that when the ball is actually to them, drop it. if we’re 10–1 entering this game and rolling I would 100% agree with you. This is the least talented husker team I’ve seen in my life. Nothing is easy for this team because our offense are all 2nd and 3rd string level guys, at best
  20. Let’s not forget our kicker and punter being complete duds from the get go. But hey, some posters on here think we should’ve been aggressive towards the end because we had a 50 yard fg attempt in the bag
  21. Thank you. Raiola has been propped up by all the sims, HH and now Purdy big runs. You take those away and our run game is straight garbage
  22. Don’t even bother Paul. I wasted an hour of my life engaging with moraine who thinks we have a prime Peyton and all pro options across the field where any play is at our disposal. I played college ball myself and don’t even know y I bother getting into it with someone who clearly has minimal understanding of everything going into a game. I feel for Rhule, too large of a % of this fan base who are going to be pissed regardless of what’s called as evidence of the reaction the last 2 weeks on here
  23. the thing about your take is you say all of this in a vacuum as if we’re flawless. You’re casually ignoring the fact we have a 3rd string qb, no receivers, and a pitiful running game. even worse, we have a field goal kicker that no one has confidence in. the coaches have to balance tying the game at a minimum and not put the players in a chance to f it up with a turnover, which they’ve done constantly this year. While also not giving Wisconsin time left for a response.
  24. 1000%. Hate to break it to ppl on here but this isn’t gonna change until the upper class men are fleshed out. Half the picked captains on this team have been complete duds. Everyone loves the cute story of a walk on stepping up and being a leader. The fact of the matter is we’re not gonna be where we should be until our top guys actually show up on gameday.
