  1. I would rather it be zero cases, wouldn't you? That would be a pretty secure election, huh?
  2. And...here is how you convince men to get the vaccine https://www.medscape.com COVID-19 increases the risk of developing erectile dysfunction (ED) by nearly sixfold, according to data from the first study to investigate the association between ED and COVID-19 in young men in a real-life setting.
  3. From previous link Additionally, it’s worth noting that election fraud cases often involve absentee ballots. The danger posed to voters by such ballots, which are voted outside the supervision of election officials and outside the observation of poll watchers in unsecure settings, is shown by a video that has just surfaced from Escondido, California. A local resident, David Sprouse, filmed an individual walking through his neighborhood last week stealing mail—including absentee ballots—from his home and other houses. And the Virginia State Board of Elections had to send out a press release warning voters that six Richmond-area mailboxes—which may have contained absentee ballots—were broken into over the first weekend in October. Other threats to the security of voting by mail are coming to light. Take Hudson County, New Jersey. A postal worker was arrested for discarding mail after an investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice found more than 1,800 pieces of mail, including 99 absentee ballots, in a dumpster.
  4. Note, this is from prior to 2020 Presidential election. https://www.heritage.org/election-integrity/commentary/more-examples-election-fraud-prove-the-left-denial-about-it The Heritage Election Fraud Database showcases a sampling of close to 1,300 proven instances of election fraud. Yet, many other cases go unreported and other potential cases are not investigated or prosecuted. There has been a rash of recent arrests around the country. Although those who have been charged are entitled to a presumption of innocence, these cases illustrate the types of fraud that have occurred and can occur that threaten our democratic system.
  5. Well, duh @TGHusker Trump drinks Diet Coke...not Coca Cola
  6. I've not dismissed the GA law...obviously...I just happen to disagree
  7. I did note in brief reading that it is more for hiring practices and Title 9 type stuff. But it might be worthwhile to have a disparate, bipartisan, neutral group study the effects on voting. Thanks. Regarding your hypothetical, I think it is more likely than not that it has happened, e.g. these studies to determine who votes where and when. I would imagine that the Dems have done it too, would you not? Seems like prudent information to have regardless of affiliation. Those statisticians hired by Dems (hypothetically of course) may say that not requiring valid photo ID to vote, shotgunning out ballots to every address, allowing one person to "harvest" hundreds or thousands of ballots from their neighborhood, having unlimited drop boxes with no video security or physical security (indoors/set hours) might allow unregistered citizens, non-citizens, or people who died since the last election, etc to "vote". Now, those same data scientists would say that a large percentage of those fraudulent ballots are likely to be discovered, but there might also be a sizeable percentage that are allowed to count. Of course, if those that are undiscovered votes are primarily for Dems, then they likely wouldn't ever admit that those practices take place. Look...hypotheticals aside I don't discount the reasoning that you and others have included. I personally believe in organized, structured, secure elections. I think that there is middle ground between "its so easy that even a child can operate it" with no time limits and no scrutinization and "one day from noon to one". I am just not sure how to get there.
  8. Again, kind of. It's always cool to learn new things, don't you think!
  9. https://www.newyorker.com/news/dispatch/swedens-pandemic-experiment An interesting read about Sweden.
  10. Kind of. You prompted me to look at it closer. Thanks.
  11. This is not retroactive and removes votes from past elections asfaik, so "perceived" with regards to future elections is accurate
  12. Yes, depending on what metrics are used to conclude it was "successful"
  13. (According to the democrats) And, I think that at this stage of the entire argument, it is worse than any perceived/unproven slights you think might be incurred. It amazes me that the left doesn't think that blacks in Atlanta can manage to follow the same rules as EVERY other voter in Georgia. Kinda racist if you ask me.
  14. I am not a boycott person either. I think it is stupid to believe that me not buying/attending/endorsing something is going to "hit em where it counts". Most mega corps could not give one sh*t about what I think or do. I have never bought into the stupid right wing boycotts starting with Kaepernick, and continue to watch what I want to watch, attend what I want to attend, and buy whatever products I want to buy. For you and @knapplc to remember, this is more than one 4 hour ballgame. This is a weeklong event, with people filling motels/restaurants/bars etc. I do agree with your stance on separating Manfred's personal membership from that at the MLB helm. But, I thought the jab from Rubio more than scored a few points.
  15. I am not wringing my hands, and I called out the hypocrisy by that Trump attempt since Goodyear supplies tires for all the motorcade vehicles, including specialty tires for "the Beast". So you're okay with telling folks that they can't work because MLB wants to play politics?
  16. To hurt the wrong people...got it. Maybe someone should look at it from a different angle
  17. I said they would lose millions in revenue. I never said it would have been the watershed moment for inner city poor in Atlanta. How many people of Atlanta do those corporations employ? How many folks in the service industry will now lose out on overtime and huge tips? How many were temporary positions, and may have been the first work they have had since the pandemic started, and they were looking forward to supplementing their $1,400 stimulus check but now won't have a job? So you are okay with corporations that employ thousands of inner city poor in Atlanta losing millions to make a political statement?
  18. But you don't think it will hurt Atlanta? Millions of dollars in revenue lost. And, the move won't change the law in GA. It may cause an emphasis to be placed on 2022 GA elections, in an effort to do so, but that seems like pretty delayed gratification.
  19. Some fun tidbits to consider. It looks like the game is moving to Denver. Atlanta is 51% black, while Denver is 11% black. Georgia has a Republican Governor. Colorado has a Democratic Governor. While Colorado does mail absentee ballots to every registered voter, they have to provide a photo ID when registering and when voting in person. Not sure what it is MLB is gaining here, and I am darn sure that it will hurt Atlanta.
  20. Completely misleading headline. Did the Sheriff lie? Looks like it. Was it racially motivated? Hard to tell. But, the man was not "arrested and interrogated for sport"... Read here https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/crime/black-newspaper-delivery-driver-detained-after-pierce-county-sheriff-claims-then-recants-threat-to-life/ "After conferring with Troyer and a Tacoma police sergeant, Lawless released Altheimer."
  21. It is already legal in some form in 38 States, so hopefully the Feds follow through with this.
  22. (I didn't write this, but am in full agreement) Why would you oppose voter ID? Why do you need longer hours to vote? No one has opposed absentee ballots. Absentee voting requires you to request a ballot at which time you have to show an ID to prove who you are. Why would you not want voters to prove who they are? Why would voting day need to be on a holiday? What holiday would that be in November? Do you know that employers have to allow time off for you to vote? I for one, am surprised people do not want, in the most important election in this country, for people to have to prove who they are and live where they are supposed to live to be able to vote.
