  1. Can you point to specific areas of the border where a wall would be more effective than the already used and less expensive fencing that has funding voted for in the House?
  2. While they control the senate, they needed all 53 Republicans and 7 Democrats to vote yes. They received 1 Democrat yes but 2 Republicans voted no.
  3. There is no such thing as an impenetrable wall. And no one is saying stop trying. Most are saying use better methods.
  4. Senate bill by Republicans is not going to pass. Needed 60 votes to advance. Already 41 have voted no
  5. LOL at Wilbur Ross "Why are these furloughed federal workers going to food banks to get free food when they could go to a bank and get a loan and have to pay back the money borrowed WITH INTEREST?"
  6. If you believe that throwing money at a problem won't fix it, it doesn't really matter who is doing the throwing. So there is correlation.
  7. Yet you favor throwing $5.7B-$50B into a problem that doesn't have proof of fixing anything?
  8. His child molestation monologue bit on SNL was hilarious It wasn't hilarious
  9. The interesting thing to me is when people do this, it appears they are saying because they did X, they deserved Y. So in this case, lets assume the MAGAteens were being disrespectful towards these women. So they post the video of it. And then someone pulls up tweets the girl posted whenever and makes it seem like because she has used the N word frequently, she deserved to be harassed. It's just dumb logic.
  10. 1. He didn't endorse or support the Republican for the election. He said some nice things about him. That shouldn't be a crime. 2. He didn't endorse or support the Democrat for the election, hopefully with good reason. That shouldn't be a crime either.
  11. The State of the Union doesn't need nor should it be covered at this point because there is nothing of value he can say during a government shutdown. Pelosi and Co have tried to end this several times. They have already offered BILLIONS of dollars for border security but the president is fixated on $5.7B and the express wording of it to be used for a wall. The president is holding the government hostage to get his way. Not even a compromise. His way. If Democrats cave now, he can force a shutdown on anything and that isn't the way it's supposed to work.
  12. I think getting elected by your constituents to be their voice is the very definition of being a leader. Where definition comes to play is whether they are effective, good, bad, etc. Just one mans opinion
  13. I think Red Denver used the term "real". Which compared to some in Congress, she is. But here is how I would rank the terms 1. Great-She is not 2. Real-She might be 3. Leader-She is
  14. There is a lot more about Trump that makes him a terrible leader. Right now, AOC is not in a position for me to determine if she is good or not because she holds no leadership positions yet. And I don't know that i like ALL her policies. But I am certainly listening to the 70% marginal tax rate and ideas on climate change.
  15. Don't get me wrong. I think Trump is a very, very, terrible leader. I think AOC is leading on some issues I find important. I just don't know how it will turn out yet. So far so good, imo.
  16. Well see now you are mistaking leader for "great" leader. There is a big difference between the 2. Trump is not a great leader, in my opinion. Some here (usually with the use of an eyeTroll) will disagree with me. But he is a leader. He leads his party without a doubt. Is AOC a "great" leader? No. Not yet. But, in my opinion, (again eyeTroll will disagree) she is advancing the conversation on a myriad of topics I find important. So I see her as a leader in some ways. Time will tell if she's great. I think I answered this in another post.
  17. Trump is definitely leading his party. Make no mistake about that. It's not GOOD leadership. But it's still leadership just the same.
  18. I understand the want for politicians to speak 100% without error 100% of the time. It's just not reasonable. Here's what she was talking about. It doesn't mean she "doesn't know the facts." It means she misspoke regarding the facts she read. https://amp.theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/08/global-warming-must-not-exceed-15c-warns-landmark-un-report
  19. Do you REALLY believe she thinks that the earth's population is going to go extinct in 12 years or do you think it was a gaffe in the interview? Please be honest.
  20. What evidence do you have that she doesn't know the facts of any policy she is formulating. What evidence do you have that ANYONE does? How many votes does she have to cast before she is permitted to push policy?
