  1. So with Cook committing, that gives us 14 for the year (15 if you throw in Dixon's commit just for argument sake). When was the last time we had this many commits before the first game of the year? And where were we this time last year or any of the Pelini years? I have not followed the recruiting process very long, but I have to say that I am impressed with the number of verbals. Clearly we are not going to be OSU, U$C, Michigan, or Texas where there is deep talent base to lock up early(See 2014 Texas commit list) but this is something for this team and state to be proud of.
  2. Funny how people forget that Osborne took 23 years to win a NC. He did not have to rebuild. He took over a NC team. Bo's been at it for 4 years. Give it a rest. Give him time to get everyone on the same page. 9 wins used to be the standard until Callahack ended that. When Osborne coached, he was consistently around 9-2. Now you play as many as 3 extra games a year. Bound to be some losses from time to time.
  3. Good chance. I hope there is something bigger than this. Don't get me wrong but getting a transfer with "personal problems" is not exactly something to tweet about being "big news down the pike". I would love to see this kid here if all he needs is a fresh start. I think the staff could do some good for him. Let's hope it pans out.
  4. Maybe we are going to have one of those big commitment surges like Washington had where like 8 kids committed all at once.
  5. Judging by DiNardo's coaching resume, he was not that good at evaluating talent anyway.
  6. Are we really still after him? Did everything get sorted out on what happened? I think Garmon got released from scholarship. Did Williams get charged with anything?
  7. Everyone mentions Suh for D line but Crick was no slouch. Who knows what he could have done had he stayed healthy.
  8. Isn't this the kid that was in the same car as the Iowa RB where they found weed or a gun or something?
  9. JPs tweet has nothing to to with Hannon. Sooo.... Do tell. (: too much teasing on Huskerboard!! just fill us in!! I am predicting Newby or Sandland. Outside shot of Quessenberry
  10. Has us in the Top 6. No Penn State anymore. I think we have a shot with him. Ameer will be a Junior when Williams steps on campus. If he redshirts, Ameer is a Senior and the starting job would be presumably wide open. Not to mention that Cross could be a Junior by this time as well. Hope someone shows him that there is a lot of room for him here.
  11. That could be. The details of their penalties just say a loss of 10 per year. It doesn't say it has to be 15 new every year or just 75 total. It does amaze me how someone would wnat to associate themselves with crooked programs.
  12. You answered your own question. They only have room for 18 3 more then they should because they had 3 early enrollees that didnt count towards the 2012 class. Unless someone transfers, gets kick off the team, loses a scholarship, or mysteriously goes missing, they only have room for 18 right now. Of course they will find a way to get a guy like Priest if he wants in, either kick a guy off their current class (one WR already tore his ACL) or make a guy transfer. Its BS but they will find a way to take Nkemdiche and Priest both if they both want in. The NCAA is going to have to make scholarships a 4 year contract, that will help teams from doing things like that. Of course they will just find a way around that as well. So they should still be limited to only 15 regardless of who they drop, right? I mean the penalty was 15 commitments (not including the 3 early enrolees). So if they start cutting players like people believe they will, they should not be allowed to take more kids out of HS. Regardless of the total number of kids they have on scholarship. If this is not the case, why not just drop enough kids right of the bat so that you can sign 25 or more?
  13. Can we just let these kids get to campus and settle in before we crown them the starter and savior and declaring National Championships. There are a lot of quarterbacks that get recruited every year and only around 4 will win a NC. Some will compete for the NC. A bigger portion will not come close. More than that will not play in a bowl game. Let's just be realistic in our prognostications. 1. Martinez is the projected starter for the next 2 years barring injury or some fallout and should have good years returning under Beck's system. 2. Carnes is PROBABLY a capable back up but has very little game experience. He knows the system but he may not want to have only one year to potentially start. 3. Armstrong MIGHT be the real deal. But since he has not even suited up for a game yet. Let's see what happens. We do know that the coaches are not afraid to let a Freshman start. 4. Stanton SEEMS to have what we need in future star QB but I think we should let him graduate HS before we compare him to Frazier, Tebow or anyone else. Thats my soapbox for the day.
  14. Post #4.... He's still taking the official. Just after he commits. Just committed to UCLA. Now NU has to pay for his official? What a scam.
  15. Looks like he is announcing today. Didn't he say he was going to make an official? I guess we know what that leads to. Hello UCLA. How many players have announced officials to us just to make their decision without actuall taking it this year? Cravens, Vanderdoes, Morris (most likely), anyone else?
  16. Does anyone know what ND was recruiting him as? Scout has him listed as a LB. maybe that was the difference.
  17. Loving your thought process... We can sell TA to recruits as well! T Armstrong too. Definitely. WR might not be thinking about 2-3 yrs out with those two and maybe even Kincade in the mix
  18. Time to move on. Plenty of WR will jump on board once they know Stanton comes on.
  19. I agree, i was debating whether to post again about it or not and frankly im tired of it as well, just wanted to post where i got my info, to prove i didnt just make it up outta thin air lol. +1 to you and welcome to the board. Thank you. I have been reading for a little while and there are a lot of good insights. I don't have a lot of people around me to talk Huskers so this is as close to ome I can get
  20. Anything on him lately? He was looking to commit somewhere pretty quickly until Fish convinced him to wait until he could visit for BRW and it's been silence since.
  21. All very good points. To me it just came off as a guy saying, "Please offer me.". Then they offer and he says, "Thanks, I' ll think about it.". It just seemed if he wanted to be offered so bad, he would have wanted to commit once the offer came through. That being said, I really hope that he commits because by his film and demeanor, he would be a good face of the team for a few years. Kind of like Cousins at Michigan St.
  22. It's going to take getting someone like this to get other high profile recruits to come here on a regular basis. I don't know if we are there yet but I think we are close. We have been on the radar for some of the bigger fish. We just haven't set the hook yet. We need just one 5 star not from Nebraska to commit and others will take notice. Getting closer.
  23. Seriously. This topic has gone way too far. He's fast and athletic and pretty big. Which happens to be what Bo likes in a DB. He is a 3 star commitment from close to home so we have to get these guys. Let's move on because once his pads are popping receivers, it is not going to matter if it was a 10.39 or a 11.00. It's fast either way.
  24. I don't care what his tweets or texts look like. All I care about is an N on his helmet, making the grade in school, and tackling buckeyes, badgers, hawkeyes, gophers, etc
  25. I like this QB. I think he would be a great addition to the team. I am somewhat confused by him though. Before we offered him, he had few offers and really came out to Lincoln to sell the coaches. He said he really wanted an offer from Nebraska. Then we offer him and he not only has not committed but has gone out to other places in search of offers. What was the point of saying he wanted an offer from Nebraska if he wasn't intent on accepting when the offer came through? I am inclined to believe that this is just an ego boost for these young men that they want to have offers just to have them.
