  1. I'm curious as to who will be the starter Saturday morning when we go up against #2 Oregon State. Erstad said which 4 would be pitching previously, but not for which game yet. I'm guessing the 4 game rotation will be: Fri -Kubat Sat Morning - Bummer Sat Night - Sinclair Sun - Deleon Any other guesses before they are announced?
  2. He does have tremendous upside! I think he knows that he needs to get better at being the "guy" even with defenses keying on you. He also has to be improve his mindset and body language when things aren't going smoothly - In his last game he had 5 points, 4 turnovers and seemed "checked out".
  3. Samuel McKewon ‏@swmckewonOWH 35m Corey Avery picks Kansas over Nebraska. He'll be a slot back. #huskers Sean Callahan ‏@Sean_Callahan 11m @swmckewonOWH Not sure he even had a commitable offer to Nebraska
  4. No, in the LJS when they reported it, Miles made it very clear that he wants him to graduate and that his scholarship will run through the rest of this semester. Biggs has already said that he wants to graduate this year in May, which he is on pace to do so he can immediately play for any D1 basketball team.
  5. Do you just mean over a weekend? Ratings wise this class will end up lower than last years (even though it looks to have more commits).
  6. Well, we don't know why he tweeted "Tic..." then decided to wait until NSD. It could easily be that he was feeling Nebraska wanted to commit this weekend, but the coaching staff knew he was still interested in the Alabama or Auburn offers and said, "don't commit now, go home think about it, and make sure you are 100% N (which they do all the time)." This would actually work to the coaches advantage because they are in a position now to go out and try to get another recruit interested (like you suggest) rather than having a commit that they don't know if he will sign on NSD or jump at the last second, leaving them high and dry and out of time to recruit someone else. Point is, we don't know why he sent out the tweet. What we know is, he is obviously interested (per his visit and tweet), and it will come down to a Nebraska, Alabama, and Auburn choice on NSD. Coaches would be smart to make sure they have a plan B, but hope we land Markell. Fair enough. Agree to disagree on this one.
  7. I get what you all are saying and certainly make some good points. In some cases I think that would be the case, however, there was no reason for him to tweet "Tic"...if he wasn't going to commit. So either he was messing with us or something made him change his mind after that. I think the chances of him getting an offer from either Auburn or Bama are pretty high. If he isn't sure after a visit that seems to be filled with positive momentum and numerous 2014/15 commits, then I think our staff has better things to do than just hope and cross our fingers a SEC team doesn't offer.
  8. For the second consecutive day, Nebraska made the ESPNU recruit ticker.
  9. One of his comments has me a little anxious, "As of right now, I'm 100 percent Nebraska." as long as he is the only RB we take. Sounds a little like someone just saving a spot. I bet he continues to look around or if we do offer another RB uses that as an "out". Hope I'm wrong, but don't see this one holding for a whole year.
  10. Sounds like we are still in 3rd position, if Bama or Auburn offer. I'd say if he isn't ready to commit now (especially with that Tic...tweet yesterday) then I say we move on and not even wait. We shouldn't be someone's third choice.
  11. I thought it was interesting that re-tweeted this when someone commented on his Tic.... tweet: Mike ‏@pyrates4life 10h @MarkellBoston Have fun when Pelini gets fired. Retweeted by Longway Pelé
  12. Also have to wonder if we are holding a spot for a Blair/Brown/Frison commit...
  13. His commitment is scrolling on ESPNU recruit designation. You know it is big get when it makes the ESPN ticker.
  14. He later re-tweeted this and said it is "unlikely" if it is in fact academic related. Jeff Goodman ‏@GoodmanESPN 5h Likely academic-related. RT @BrendanPrunty: Georgetown transfer Greg Whittington will not enroll and won't play for Rutgers.
  15. We'd take Frison no matter what, imo. I agree that of course we'd take him, my opinion is that with these offers going out today, it seems like the coaches can't be that confident with Frison. As these new offers put us close to the limit.
  16. I wonder on Nebraska's end with the new offers to the DE and that Georgia QB today if we don't like our chances here. I know they are completely different positions, but we only have 3 spots left so with these new offers (with both looking favorable to commit) definitely looks like a Frison or Brown or someone yet type deal.
  17. I wonder what made us go with him instead of Parks for an offer.
  18. Interesting discussion. Ok, I'll give you that, it is about 4 turnovers a game on average in conference when I looked at the numbers. However, I still think that is high already for someone who is not the point to begin with.
  19. I see what you are saying, and I didn't take it as a shot at Benny. Guess it just depends on what each person feels "production" is, because in terms of stats and numbers, there is no dispute. To me, the overall flow just looks better at times when he is on the court and we get Tai off the point some. I wouldn't want Terran to handle the ball more because he averages about 6 turnovers a game already. I would like to see Hawkins get a few minutes considering his red-shirt possibilites this season have already been burned.
  20. So with only 2-3 spots left, which recruits would you take out then? I know we may not have a chance at all these 100%, but just for sake of discussion. Bronson, Pittman, Brown, Frison any others?
  21. I certainly see what Comish is saying, but I agree with STL, it seems like at times Parker is able to facilitate the offense better at times. We have enough players that want/can shoot. I think he is playing his "defined" role - facilitate, defend, ball handle. Any shots we get like Sunday are a bonus. So with this year's team - are you thinking more minutes should go to Peltz / Hawkins then?
  22. Don't you think Urban Meyer says the same type thing when talking to recruits vs Nebraska - want to play for a coach that has won a National / Conference Championships? This isn't a Bo bash, just that any school or coach will find something. Neb. trying to get a kid to decommit is no better or worse than when Meyer or some other coach tries to do it.
  23. I'm not so sure we'd even take him at this point with Irons committing. We have at max 2-3 spots left (provided there are no de-commits). We still have Bronson, Pittman, Brown, Frison and probably others. These seem to be higher areas of need than WR.
  24. My guess is that since he is deferring to Coach Miles and staying silent until Miles comments makes me think he is off the team the rest of this season, but has a chance to earn his way back on for next season. If he was permanently off the team with no hope of coming back, why not just answer yourself. Just an opinion, we'll find out tomorrow.
  25. This is from Nate Clouse today (so while I'm not a member to read the link, I can't imagine there is another Georgia QB) - so I think the visit part is legit. Nate Clouse ‏@NateClouse 1h I''ve just confirmed the #Huskers will be hosting a Georgia QB as an official visitor this weekend. @HuskerOnline: http://bit.ly/1aDrp3x $
