  1. It is pretty incredible. For years and years they got blasted almost every Saturday, similar to the teams during the Dan Hawkins era at Colorado. It's nice to see them get a little payback on their conference rivals. I think it would be an interesting fit for this inaugural playoff campaign. Win out the regular season, escape the big 12 championship with a win, get through a matchup against Oregon or Pac12 team, and face FSU. Plus it would be great if some of those real good Texas HS recruits passed over UT, OU, and A&M for the Bears. Even better if meant the Longhorn Network showcased UT for the next five years with the success rate of Arkansas. I'm going to drink the Green and Gold Koolaid this year - breaking in their new stadium as the returning champs, and wishing them luck. I'm pretty sure there is no Big 12 championship game...fyi
  2. Cunningham has S.Carolina winning SEC, but Alabama in the playoffs? huh? That would mean that Alabama either didn't make that championship game, but still gets in over the winner or they lost in the championship game and still get in over the winner? That would be messed up.
  3. For those of us who have lost loved ones to ALS, I thank you and everyone else who has been involved in this fund raising effort!
  4. I agree with those (Sam M.) who say they see too many drops in practice. Has to be cleaned up. 1:55pm - 16 Aug 14 Tweet by Steve sipple Reply when asked if it was throw instead of catching @NickESPN1480 Always a factor, but I've just seen too many "catchable" passes hit the ground
  5. Obviously, you've forgotten about Lincoln being on Archiliean time. The reason I'm being such a pill about this is because you see snippets like this, And it reads a little different then, "he was dinged up". I really don't see much in the way of similarities. Keep working on the deflection, though. Kinda exactly my point. I think he means no similarities in how they were injured, hence the difference in explaining their injuries...dinged up is a bit different than being taken to the hospital by ambulance. serious question though...has anyone confirmed how he was "dinged up"? I know everyone is assuming head injury, but I haven't seen that it was confirmed as such?
  6. Poppen called up... http://nebraska.247sports.com/Bolt/Walk-on-Poppen-added-to-105-30210220

  8. https://twitter.com/dustynbehm/status/498178299592732673 2014 def player of the yr
  9. I was just going to look for the thread about him to say that. No word differently but it's starting to be concerning. You'd think they could at least say when he'll be back by now. Losing 3 guys in a week would kinda suck. You jinxed us:(
  10. I'd probably say his catch at Michigan State is probably his best. The one against Wisky that got called back on Bell's "blocking" penalty...one of my favorites...for both reasons:)
  11. But you're eliminating 3 teams with 8-10 commits . . . and not a single school with on 5*. The argument isn't particularly convincing if you're cherry picking that much. I'm not trying to make and argument...??? And I wasn't cherry picking...add the 3 teams w/ 8-10 commits if you want, doesn't really matter to me...I was just using 11 because that is the number that NU has at this time. Anyone can take the info and break it apart any way you want too. You could make is sway in a lot of different directions based on how you want to look at it, I was just giving one perspective. He asked how I qualified it and I told him...wasn't much more to it than that. Personally I like the last couple classes for a multitude of reasons...this one included, but don't worry, I won't try to "convince" you of it, because I would hate to be called a cherry picker or the likes and it's probably going to keep me up at nights worrying about if I "convinced" you or not...smh
  12. The average star rating is always a bit of a red herring, in my book. If we have 4 guys who are 4* and 3 guys who are 3* (3.6 average star ranking), and Wisconsin has 5 guys who are 4* and 4 guys who are 3* and one 2*, their average star ranking is lower (3.4), but would you say they have a worse class overall?? Also, why did you qualify it "w/ at least 11 commits"? I do agree...but then how do you look at a class? Just because a team has more commits than we do doesn't mean they have a better class either, just more "points"...so I guess everyone can just make up there own opinion of what qualifies as a good class instead of looking at rankings? Since you referenced our class ranking to past years, I was just pulling data from the rankings profiles to show that it's always not just where we fall on the scale, but you also proved my point further with your comment above (which I agree with)...really depends on how you want to look at things I guess. I qualified it w/ 11 commits, because if you only had one commit and he was a 5*, that doesn't really give you much data on how the class is in comparison to teams w/ at least a set number, in this case I picked 11 commits.
  13. Year 7 wakeup call? The 2015 class doesn't look much different than Bo's previous classes. What am I missing? Some things take time... It is not ideal, but 9 wins a year isnt awful.. that wakeup call =11 wins.. ill take it. Are you blind? This is the first time the class has been this big/this deep/ this fast.... top 20 class right now i believe... #28 according to Rivals and #33 according to 24/7. 2014 NU finished #32 2013 #17 2012 #25 2011 #15 2010 #22 2009 #28 (All Rivals) So... I don't know, but it doesn't seem like our recruiting is markedly better. It might turn out to be in the long run, but to say it is now is just hopefulness from fans. yes but our average star ranking is higher than 16 teams ranked above us and only tied or lower than 1 team below us w/ at least 11 commits. So we don't have the volume, but we have a good class.
  14. When I first saw the tweet about RG4 buying a policy someone compared it to JF last year and it was mentioned that Tamu paid all or part of his policy. This may have been posted already, but RG4 said this was something he did on his own...NU did not pay for it like TAMU did for JF.
  15. I think it is actually one of the more accurate polls to come out yet. NU has something to prove before they can move up that board (which I believe they will)!!
  16. Video: Husker commit Kendall Bussey talks NU, Texas Tech, 2014 goals http://t.co/y6sL662sFK
  17. The "steal" from Braxton Miller by Lavonte David...that was crazy and a huge turning point in that game.
  18. Let's not forget, it may not have been a CCG or BCS bowl, but anytime that you can beat a quality SEC team in a bowl, that's a good thing. (albeit an banged up one...so were we, don't want to get into that debate, not my point)... It's not necessarily what NU should strive for, but none the less I love beating SEC teams!!! I know everyone keeps saying 1 more year, 1 more year...I get that. Personally I like Coach Bo, but more so, I like that last few classes we have put together and I really want to see what Bo can do with the talent coming up the pipe. I think it's exciting times to be a Husker fan and I hope to see good things in our future. GBR!!!
  19. Yeah, well, kinda. I mean, if you have average players going "SO HARD AND PHYSICAL" at each other in practice they are still going to be average. All those "average" 2 and 3 star college players now playing in the NFL might disagree. The guys that make the NFL are not average just because some fatty that is standing in the shade at a camp, while eating a hotdog decides to put 3 stars next to their name. I believe that you are not born great, most athletes are "average" until they put in the hard work and dedication to become great. I'm not saying everyone can do it, you have to have some amount of God given talent, but if you are not going "SO HARD AND PHYSICAL" no matter what type of player you are, I doubt you will ever become great. I disagree in the fact that you are saying average players can't become great players, that they will just stay average.
  20. I think it's hurting him though...look at him clenching his fist...lol
  21. Yeah, well, kinda. I mean, if you have average players going "SO HARD AND PHYSICAL" at each other in practice they are still going to be average. All those "average" 2 and 3 star college players now playing in the NFL might disagree...
