  1. Says he is wanting to go where he has the best fit...doesn't matter if it is 15 miles or 1500 miles away. Wants to make a decision before the start of his season. No favorites as of right now... paid - http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/on-the-trail/post?id=53216&ex_cid=espnapi_public
  2. Over the last month, Nebraska has been playing at a higher level than an 11 seed. Our 19 wins record is holding us back on the seeding but most of the losses came early in the year before this team took off and started playing better ball. The problem is, deciding how much better than an 11 seed are they playing. They didn't exactly light it up on a neutral court in Indianapolis and now we have Baylor on a Neutral court. Unless we have an off night, I think we can play with Baylor. But, we have to have shots falling from the outside to ultimately open it up a little more on the inside. I hear Baylor has some long armed tall middle guys. That's going to make it tough for Petteway and Shields to drive and score unless we can do it while getting fouls. The Husker in me is taking Nebraska in a close game down to the wire. But, I'm nervous about this game. Technically...but not really...Baylor is only about 2.5 hrs from SA...Going to be a good one for sure!
  3. I'll be coming down from Austin as well! GBR!
  4. @HuskerExtraBR: Just another of many opinions on #NebrasketbalI; http://t.co/QT58QZXshV
  5. He says what everyone else in the country is thinking...I don't have a problem with that. I've always preferred to have someone who is upfront and says what's on their mind. I think he runs the program in the right way...he recruits not only kids that can play, but also kids that will fit our program...He keeps our kids out of trouble for the most part and has no issues with getting rid of the ones that don't want to do things the right way. We have won 9+ games every year of his tenure by doing things the right way...I can't complain about that because a lot of the upper programs can't say that. Most of his players will stick up for him in the thick or thin and that tells me a lot about his character behind the scenes. He is a good coach and a good person. Yes he has his blow ups...most coaches do. We are just more sensitive to it because of who we are as fans. He took a 5-7 program from the year before and turned it around...about the time he starts getting his footing on recruiting "his" type of players, oh hey, lets switch conferences...I don't think enough people understand the magnitude of that and how it changed our recruiting styles, etc...basically starting over in a lot of ways. Not saying it's end all be all, but it definitely isn't apples for apples. Then about the time we are starting to get things going in the B1G we loose our starting QB and most of our starting O line... This is all just my opinion, so please don't beat me up over it...I know people will disagree and that is fine, it's your right. I have a good feeling about this year...I believe we are set up to have a special season barring a flurry of injuries again. I love NU and everything it stands for...I think our program is doing fine and we are very close to breaking thru. #GBR
  6. No matter if we make the dance or not, this season has already been a win IMO...great job coach Miles!
  7. I always thought that 5* and high 4* recruits were more "college ready"...they had the physique and ability to come in and be an immediate contributor...where the low 4* and 3* were more along the lines of having high potential to come in and get to a "college ready" state within a couple of years of the program? So my logic was such that the schools that are getting the high 4's and 5's every year have better depth, but not necessarily the best 2 deep? I feel like NU is very good at getting these types of players and turning them into something special with a couple years thru the program. Just my two cents...
  8. Ryan Broyles, a former two-time All-American wide receiver for Oklahoma, had some great things to say about the cornerback on Football Brainiacs: "Special athlete all around. He is a very elusive player in the return game. His athleticism is top notch. He has smooth hips and runs well. I think he could contribute right when he walks on campus. He plays with a lot of confidence and, based on how he plays, he has every right to. He’s not afraid to make physical tackles in the flat and in the run game in general. His bump and run coverage technique can be improved but he shows he can stick to a man down the field and high point balls resulting in deflections or interceptions. Again, Trai is a special athlete and if he was a little taller I would have given him an even higher grade because he appears to have league level athleticism and fluidity."
  9. I believe NU filed the probation against itself for the misunderstanding and implemented changes to keep this from happening again...
  10. Not sure how that works for them?...are they in any way contractually obligated for anything by signing that? I wouldn't think so since they are getting a scholarship...? Just wondering if anyone knows the specifics?

  21. Old news, but thought I would update the profile with the info: The future of one key Husker appears hazy. What’s known for sure is that defensive end Avery Moss will not be available for Nebraska in the bowl game. Moss and linebacker Jared Afalava were on the short list of Huskers who did not travel to the Gator Bowl, Bo Pelini confirmed after Friday's first practice on site. The Husker head coach said Moss is at home due to "a personal issue back in Arizona." Per Husker Extra
