  1. One thing we have always told our kids is that college is an opportunity to meet people and interact with people who come from very different experiences than them. They need to learn from them and allow this to make their college experience more meaningful. Now, that sounds awfully like I'm a hippy from the 60s. But, it's true. They have grown up in central Nebraska and have been shielded away from many other experiences because of that. Don't miss the opportunity that college gives you to learn from others.
  2. I wish someone would create a chart that shows number victims of police shootings by race compared to number of violent crimes committed by race. This doesn't excuse any non-justified police shootings. But, it would be an interesting view of the data.
  3. Edited ....because I was looking at the scores wrong. I think both units will come into the game much more focused. I think your offense is about right but they will score less. 42 - 10
  4. Have to say....there is a part of me that is concerned because of all the distractions this week.
  5. Hal just really needs to keep his mouth shut. I think it's time Hal is no longer a Regent. And....after reading all of his comments....I'm very serious about that.
  6. I'm assuming we will start to see the affects of the debate in polls later this week and early next week.
  7. Zoogs....I would love a chance for another party to spring up that actually has a chance to compete. However, if there is anything this election has taught us is that the two main parties can nominate whomever they want. Those two can be the most disgusting and horrible candidates imaginable but the two parties have such a strangle hold on the system that no way can another party get traction.
  8. OK....I didn't know you could do that on twitter. Can anyone do that with a #? Or, does that take special equipment? How do we know this isn't just a made up map in photoshop?
  9. Not to get into a big discussion about last year. But, I'm not sure who you think just 'accpeted defeat' last year on our sidelines. No one I'm not talking about last year necessarily I just think after losing a game they should have won last year the huskers will come with a 'refuse to lose' attitude which will dominate Illinois 'hope we win this one' attitude. May not be what happens but I'm also a fan on a message board so imuch not exactly an expert But if we are going to get specific, technically losing would be accepting defeat (kidding) OK...that makes sense.
  10. I can't figure out where that map is from.....I'm assuming Russia?
  11. I actually thought that when I first saw they were playing each other this week. Our game is on ESPN2....correct?
  12. I think I caught that part, too. The bipartisan push for removing 2nd amendment rights for those on the opaquely maintained no-fly list is worrisome. Hey.....I've gotten in arguments with people before who claim..."I'm voting for Trump because Hillary wants to take our guns away". They don't like it when I say Trump supports gun control also.
  13. Goodness. If that exchange right there doesn't scare the crap out of everyone......something is seriously wrong with people. The article is a great piece that shows the extent of how Hillary is prepared and smart (even though I don't like her) while Trump is just an incompetent idiot that is only good at saying outrageous things.
  14. An extremely interesting statement. The Heisman right now is all Lamar Jackon's, however if they fall to Clemson then have a few more losses he may be forgotten from the September hype. Meanwhile, if Armstrong can at least get us to 8-0 and head into Ohio State week unbeaten, the heisman spotlight MAY be on him? Depending on how he finishes out the year he could get invited to New York, although I think Nebraska has to be a top 12 team for that to happen come seasons end. Unless Nebraska goes to the playoff, I don't see Armstrong having a shot to win it. An invite would be great though. Interesting discussion. The only way I see TA anywhere close to it is if he keeps playing the way he is and we get to Wisconsin and OSU weeks and he does something very special in those games for us to win those games to make ESPN highlight reels. Those are some awfully big "IF"s.
  15. Yep. Trump deservedly got more because Trump has insisted on living on a mountain of bullsh#t. Ever see a pile of bullsh#t when it heats up??? I really wouldn't want to be on top of it.

  17. I have the feeling that as well as Clinton was prepared, she had something planned to say if he brings that up. Exactly, he would have been walking into a trap. He can't criticize her spouse for having affairs when he did. I mean he can, and probably will, but it is a terrible look. That's something I've never understood about him slamming her over this issue. He's just as big of slimeball as Bill. It's as though he thinks everyone just forgets about that.

  19. It's going to be really interesting to see if Hillary puts together some TV ads with clips from the debate.
  20. I've wondered something about a debate where Trump is involved. What does a moderator do to not lose control and let him just ramble on and do whatever he wants?
