  1. I have already watched the play...zero times, but I have to agree with it. If the Packers lost, all is well.
  2. This is the kind of game where I think that it would behoove us to send guys like Martin on a pretty regular basis. We know they can't run and that they'll put it up 70% of the time (obviously more after they're down a bunch of scores). We also know that their tackles/rest of the OL are gonna be pretty bad in comparison to what we're used to seeing. With a strong secondary and a relentless pass rush, I think that their offense turns into more Tecmo Bowl-esque complexity as opposed to NCAA Football 2013.
  3. I don't understand. What is there to worry about with the older guys?
  4. The sarcasm note was not needed. If you lack common sense at that level, there is no hope for you.
  5. Word on the street is... Anderson actually tore it at Football 101 and he is going to be apart of a class-action lawsuit with Beverly Morgan. He was told by Coach Els to "make a tackle!" but after watching the other linebackers in the aptly named "UCLA drill" miss and miss, he wasn't quite sure how to do it. He felt his knee pop and Coach Els took him to the sideline. Els said that medical trainers would come by, but they never did until after the game on Saturday. At that point, the torn ACL was discovered. Ironically, Coach Pelini will be joining the suit as well because of an injury that he sustained at Football 101. He was told by Coach Pappois to "run a 3-4 defense!" but after looking at his upperclass linebackers, noting their less-than-stellar closing speed, he started to grow extremely agitated and fel this blood pressure rising. This condition persisted, but remained in semi-remission until the day of the Arkansas State football game when he felt like he ACTUALLY had to run the defense. He grew worse than normal and had to leave the game. The pre-existing condition discovered at the hospital and the link to Football 101 was made shortly thereafter. Morgan, Anderson, and Pelini are asking for a collective $180,945 from Tim Beck, Ross Els, John Pappois, and the Bo Pelini Foundation.
  6. I mean, it would be one thing if they had played LSU, 'Bama, and Florida State in the first 3 weeks, but CSU, Fresno, and Division 1-AA West....yeah, they suck.
  7. Have to ask: why did you actually stay until the end of the game?
  8. Aplin was player of the year last year in the Sun-Belt and Oku is no slouch at RB either. Yes they were an inferior team, but we still kept a good offense from scoring and I was impressed. Wonder what Malzan's thoughts were on our D? Doesn't Oku have a kid in Lincoln?
  9. Probably because it's non of our business. Wait a minute. I don't get it. The colllege football coacho, essentially, of the state, has a private life? They showed ass't coaches taking his pulse the entire first half and he ahas a private life now. Ha, yah, ok.
  10. Game speed vs. clocked speed. Maybe Anderson will have it and maybe he won't but look at Zac Lee. He was reported to run a 4.6 and there were reports that he smoked someone significant (can't remember who) in a footrace at practice before. He never looked like a 4.6 guy to me on Saturdays...
  11. You would be correct. Thanks I am shocked there are no "tweets" about who/what the 3-4 might look like. I would honestly be surprised to see a 3-4. I haven't heard any of the coaches say anything about switching to a 3-4, only a few posters on this board who have speculated about it. If anybody has a quote/vid/audio clip of Bo, Papuchis, or any of the coaches saying anything about switching to a 3-4, I would love to hear it. I don't know if you will find the quotes, but if you look at the shift in the heights/weights/speed of the guys that we recruited last year and this year and compare these guys to previous years, it's pretty obvious to see that the defensive priorities, at least in the front 7 have shifted. This is especially true at DT where you can easily deduce that we are going from traditional 4-3 dts, to true 3-4, pile-creators. As far as Anderson goes, I hope that people don't get too excited before the game or even if he plays well against Ark St. and assume that he is going to be the second coming of LD. Those are tough shoes to fill and I would honestly be satisfied if he a. looks athletic b. can tackle. Both of those qualities together would be an upgrade from what was out there the first two games.
  12. I'm gonna nominate one of my dad's favorites. To quote him, "Bo with a brain" aka Pat Fitzgerald.
  13. I don't doubt that he does in most instances. He's got what, 125 guys on that roster? I'm sure 115 will tell you that taking care of them is a high priority to Bo (i doubt all would say the "highest" but likely up there). I'm sure 115 of Kiffins will too however. But there are plenty that think otherwise and likely for good reason. Why are so many talented guys packing up and leaving the program if not? We were short something like 7 scholarships this season. Say what you will, Bo weeds guys out of the program just like Urban does, or Miles does. It might not get publicized as much because Nebraska is far from the relevancy that these guy's programs are. And I highly doubt Urban left Florida because they were losing. He coached at Utah remember...he's been faced with adversity in his programs before. He went to Ohio State under sanctions. He's facing adversity there as well. Guys have their dream jobs. Kiffin is in his I'm sure. I don't blame him for a bit leaving Tennessee. I'm sure when he took that job he wasn't planning on watching Pete Carol leave USC for a number of years. When your dream job falls into your lap you take it with both hands...redneck perception be damned. That wasn't necessary. I am not a redneck and just because my opinion is different from yours is not reason to call names. How immature! I think that he may have been alluding to all of the Tennessee fans that were up in arms when Kiffin bolted to USC
