  1. I'm just wondering why the husker Twitter account doesn't introduce them as they are hired....makes too much sense I guess
  2. OK. I really can't see us needing another CB and another S. It gets better, he offered another TE in this class. Another attempted poach job from Oregon state. I guess he hasn't contacted Bussey yet, either. Sweet. Who cares where the kid is committed to? If they feel the kid is good enough to play at a high level why not try to get the kid to come with?
  3. Mods please change thread title to "How to Ruin College Football for America"
  4. ...and that should be completely unacceptable If that happens. 9 wins (or more) next year. NO EXCUSES. It is just as likely for Bo to get us 7 wins next season. Losses: BYU with their freak QB back, Miami, Mich St, Wisconsin, Minny, NW or Iowa. Do I expect it to happen? No I sure don't but it isn't impossible without Gregory or Ameer on our roster I don't think the BYU QB is a "freak" anymore....he broke his leg and probably won't be in the game next year If that happens then a win against BYU becomes much more likely.

Losses: BYU with their freak QB back, Miami, Mich St, Wisconsin, Minny, NW or Iowa. Do I expect it to happen? No I sure don't but it isn't impossible without Gregory or Ameer on our roster Then why not fire Bo next year? Nebraska didn't exactly go out and get the best coach with Riley. By far imo. What's Nebraska even striving for anymore? No blowout losses? We wants wins and Riley better produce else it's next man up in 3 years. So you know you have an employee who can't get it done at work right? Do you let him continue to do subpar work or take a flier on a guy you think (SE) is much better at the job? Easy answer from a business perspective which is what SE views this as Thing is, there is another option other than taking a flier or just sticking with the same old, FIXING THINGS. For less than we spent on buyouts we could've made staff upgrades that would've likely stopped blow-outs and produced more wins. I'd say that is what makes the most sense from a business perspective, low risk with potential for substantial rewards. IMO Riley is a good enough coach to get it done with the right guys under him, we can win with him, but I also think Bo would've worked if we put a better staff under him that allowed him to quit being def-facto DC, special-teams fixer, and HC at the same time and just back-off to be more of a CEO-type HC. Bo never showed the ability to be a CEO big picture guy. Hell he even specifically stated he wasn't a big picture guy. Which is the biggest part of being a HC. Nothing wrong with him calling the defensive plays as long as he is capable of also managing the big picture. Simply plugging random pieces together of guys we as the fan base feel would be huge upgrades isn't always the best. I AM going to do exactly what I did with Bo when he was hired. Give the guy a few years to show us what he can do at NU. If he falls flat on his face we start all over again. However we as a fan base need to step away from the ledge and see what these coaches are capable of here at NU.
  6. I totally agree. I think fans who think Riley is a good fit, is absolutely delusional. He's been at OSU now for 14 years. If you haven't built a team up within that time, then what makes you think he's going to do any better at Nebraska. I also don't buy the fact that he will have better resources. As mentioned, there are plenty of coaches who built a no name school into winners. It will be a long, long, Riley era. Name another school that is comparable to OSU but has achieved great success? Let me disqualify some for you. Boise State- MID MAJOR, they don't do squat in the PAC12. KSU- Snyder is one of the greatest team builders ever. Doesn't hurt that happens to be located in the heart of most likely the best JUCO conference in the entire country. Miami- located in a high population state who also happens to produce AMAZING football talent. TCU and Baylor- again located in a talent hotbed. Doesn't hurt that Texas has been swirling down the drain for the last few years allowing them to poach some high end talent in the area. If you can find me a power 5 school that has beat as many high profile teams while playing 2nd fiddle to an instate rival 40 miles away in an area that arguably has poorer talent in the 500 mile radius than Nebraska I would love to hear it. Not to mention has a recruiting budget of less than 300k
  7. So if Riley took OSU from bad to mediocre why could he not take us from mediocre to good?
  8. Whoa whoa whoa....is our staff recruiting plans B and C and D?!?!?! I thought we were suppose to put all of our eggs in one basket and pray for the best.

Easy answer from a business perspective which is what SE views this asActually, you don't take a flier. You do everything you can to make sure you get the best candidate for the job.#Movinggoalposts #Loweredexpecyations Where have expectations been lowered? I expect championships. However you can't give a guy 3 years to do it when you gave the previous guy 7. Not to mention the difference in personality types. In coaching a guy deserves 5 years IMODifferent situation. Bo had to do a pretty big rebuild job. This guy doesn't. The team has been winning consistently, his job is much easier than Bo's was. The expectations increase. Shawn said it was about championship football, not me. Bo faired to meet his championship expectations, if the new guy does the same, he should be sitting next to Bo in the unemployment line. And for those who are speculating what Bo would do with next years schedule, what does it matter? He's no longer our coach, we don't know, it doesn't matter. Bo had a rebuild job? He inherited one of the most talented Ds we have seen in a few decades. You wanna talk complete rebuilds look at what Callahan was left with when he arrived. THAT is a complete rebuild. Also with as mentally weak as our team has been in big games for a few years it might be more of a rebuild than you think. Considering this is going to be a New system entirely. Expecting us to surpass everything Bo could accomplish in 7 years in a New HCs first year is completely stupid
  10. Did he talk to coach Riley or did he have a position coach call him? Maybe you can help us figure out who our WR coach is hahahaven't hired WR coach yet.just a position coachWhat did stanley think of him? Hope he is as excited as all of us are for a HC thats offense produces some amazing WRshe sounded happy when he told me they called and felt fired up about him. Just waiting on the home visit You will LOVE coach Riley

  12. Curious who everyone thinks will be starting at IB next season? A refresher for those that don't know all of them Imani Cross (Sr) 6'1 230 lbs Terrell Newby (Jr) 5'10 200 lbs Jordan Nelson (Jr) 5'7 180 lbs Adam Taylor (Soph) 6'2 210 lbs Mikale Wilbon (Fr) 5'8 190 lbs Kendall Bussey (Fr) 5'8 190 lbs* *If he stays with NU Personally I think either Adam Taylor or Bussey will get the nod next year.

  16. so you were ok with Bo's 9 wins, but anything less than 11 and a championship is reason for termination? you f'in up every thread with nonsense is starting to get old - please at least tell me you're trolling and not serious with most of this 9~10 wins wasn't good enough for Bo. Are we changing the standards now? Bo had to rebuild this program as a first time head coach. The new guy doesn't have to rebuild, he has to change some things and has about 15years head coaching experience. The schedule is even more beneficial next year than it was this. the talent is there. If this guy is really as elite as Shawn makes him out to be, then no, I'm not kidding. 11 wins should be his basement. BYU is much better than FAU Miami isn't starting a true fresh QB next season. The rest of the schedule is the same. Hopefully home field gives us the edge in our bigger games in conference
  17. Can't watch the video at work, but I assume it is saying that Pelini to Youngstown St? If true, you can't make this stuff up... Said it's a rumor, asked a lot of folks about it, no confirm or deny. Says it makes sense so Bo could GTFO of Lincoln for someplace he likes while essentially coaching free & his kids can do HS in Youngstown... Vince Marrow was one of the candidates. Didn't he burn the bridge with Bo on the way to Kentucky? Ugh Vince Marrow, the guy who should be on our staff instead of Barney Cotton...
  18. A little open competition never hurt anyone ;-)
  19. I don't know that I agree with that. I'd put guys in groups like this... Good - Jackson Serviceable- Davie, Cockrell, Rose Solid + improving - Kalu, Jones Could be studs- Anderson, Lee, Mosley Exactly.,waste of an offer. We have greater needs. If he comes in and starts is it a waste of an offer?

  21. Guessing the player didn't relay this info prior to the day of? You ever had a coach cuss you out? I have and you take it with a grain of salt
  22. Or we aren't very good at the CB position
