  1. http://www.huskers.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=100 link to press conference
  2. I agree to a point, but it you can get a proven HC that has shown he knows how to get a staff to recruit AND has NE ties and would have a full appreciation of the culture and values, that would be a HOME RUN IMO. I think Richt would be a good option. I get a bit of what EZ is saying, but he is glossing over what Richt has done in his entire time at UGA. What if Richt were to come and hire Frost as his OC? I think I could sign up for that. I only see Frost coming here if he's offered HC. I think the moment he is offered HC, he'll take it, but I doubt he accepts anything less.
  3. I don't think the record will end as poorly. I think we win this week and even next, although I doubt we win out and make it to the CCG.
  4. Every coach is always coaching for their job. The rhetoric being thrown around on this board and others is ignorant and laughable, not pointing any fingers at people individually. All of y'all, myself included, would make absolutely atrocious athletic directors, and clearly have no real clue how this works in real life. It's so much more complicated in various shades of grey then we all seem to want to make it out to be. while I agree, it would be hard to argue that how this team plays in their last 5 games will not go a long way in determining Pelini's fate. He needs another run like last year, I feel, and then a solid performance in the CCG.
  5. Rivals keeps insulting me with ads for Wisconsin Badgers jerseys.

      That seems fair.

  6. The Nebraska ties requirement is pointless to me as well, I agree. It's a nice plus if we can get a good coach that has them, but otherwise, whatever.
  7. The thing is, the wins will come with such an attitude. I, too, want smashmouth football back.
  8. If we could get Jim Tressel, I'd be alright with that. Proven winner, conservative sometimes to a fault, but his style of game is well suited to Nebraska: Power football. We have the culture in place to prevent stupid crap like Tattoogate from happening.
  9. I'm kinda hesitant to do the whole "DC from a defending national champion" thing again.
  10. I hate doing this to a guy who has done so much for Nebraska in his career, I mean, he has willed this team to victory a great number of times. Last year was a great example of leadership, and that regular season was the most enjoyable regular season for me as a Husker fan since the 2001 season. But I feel it's time. If his toes are broken, it would be wrong to play him. It's time to hand over the reins to the future.
  11. Look at the final season rankings that Osborne and Devaney averaged. There's similarities, but also glaring differences.
  12. Thanks, Sunday Night Football, for reminding the nation of Nebraska's sadness right now.

You should hear the sportscasters in the Phoenix area...Saying ASU fans should write thankyou notes to Minnesnota..Now AS(whoo?) is ranked after a bye week...

  13. Urban Meyer is a P.O.S. anyways. Different circumstances. When Urban was approached we just fired a 9 win coach. Our AD at the time was an absolute clueless jackass and a guy like Urban Meyer could probably decipher this fact. Why would anyone come into a program that was clearly being run by a buffoon? True, doesn't take away from the fact I can't stand Urban Meyer.
  14. I'm sure a lot of coaches would want to coach at a place with top notch facilities, a stadium that sits 90,000+ every game, a proud fan base, a team in a BCS conference, a huge support system, and a team with a lot of talent. This is Nebraska not Kansas, this place is still desirable Maybe Jim Grobe or Houston Nutt (Only coaches interested the last two searches). Not any top notch coaches. Maybe no top notch coaches at top programs, but let's stop pretending Nebraska is that undesirable. There's bound to be some solid head coaches that would be interested in coming here.
  15. It is 100% certain that Nick Saban would never, ever come to Nebraska, and frankly, I'm okay with that, I don't think he fits well with Nebraska. He'd win, yes, but I just don't think it would be a good fit still.
  16. All my searching for how to do it right for nothing strange, it didn't embed there though. I have no clue then.
  17. I'd take Peterson. But he ain't leaving Boise. He's got a great thing going there.
