  1. Nice win, but Watson needs to start and Benny needs to bring the energy off the bench!
  2. Ha! Come on man...McDonkey owns Timmy Miles (away from being a good coach)...it is not the refs. I agree, but the officiating was not good! We lost the game because of the lack of scoring from our starters: Benny, Ty & Shavon! Creighton is not even close to Miami or Cincinnati, this was our worse shooting game and we were wide open. I think you might want to get used to that shooting... I think the worst game of the year will be NU at the Illini...the final score might be like a 4th grade girls game...10-4 HaHa!

  4. I think we found our starting PF in Jacobsen. Now, we need to start Watson at PG.
  5. Every time Shields does not get the calls his way, he stops hustling and playing defense. Plus, every time we play in Omaha the officiating stinks. These guys have no idea what a moving pick or traveling is.
  6. Benny Parker needs to come off the bench. He is the reason for our slow starts. There 6" passes do not work and he can not score!
  7. Until we start winning, we need to look for these possible diamonds. We've been recruiting these 'diamonds' for awhile now. It's why our roster led to a 5-7 record, why we send a small number of players to the NFL and why Nebraska is shell of a program it once was. This dumpster fire started with Solich and so far only Bo has found these diamonds. The problem is he could not teach and make them better. Riley has tried to get the top players here, but most of these kids were not even born when Nebraska was consistently good. I believe that Riley is a good evaluator of talent. Only time will tell. If Pelini found "diamonds in the rough" but couldn't teach and make them better, then you wouldn't know if they were in fact "diamonds in the rough". DPE & Carter, plus there were some that committed to us and went elsewhere to SEC schools. Bo got one year with DPE and he was a stud. Carter started as a freshman as well. Some of Bo's "diamonds in the rough" killed us depth wise. Irons, Tolbert, Mixon, Shuttles, Walton, that DE that didn't even get to Lincoln, Boaz Joesph....just to name a few... I agree, but some of these guys did not make it because of discipline issues, not performance on the field .
  8. Watson out plays Benny every game, but Benny gets more minutes. I do not care who starts, but do not understand not playing the pg who is playing better. Its not defense as the help defense took a lot of fouls because Benny can not stay with his guy.

  12. 6'3, 200 with good speed and football IQ. Looks to have the frame to add 20 lbs. and get stronger. Looks like a good fit.
  13. Yep. Surprised to discover they have one of the biggest weight rooms in the P12 (per this video: ) Looks Like Doane College, but larger. Still no comparison to the Huskers!
  14. That's actually not true. Riley was an average recruiter at OSU and an average recruiter at NU. I don't see talent dropping off, but I don't think talent will overcome the glaring deficiencies in his and his staff's approach to winning games. I like Riley as a person. I find his offense boring as hell and unsuited for Nebraska (and CFB in general), but I like him. I hope he gets to a consistent .700 record and he's retained as long as he wants to be here. But, I'm so sick and tired of people blaming players for average (below average) results from a a historically average/below average coaching staff. It's unfair and insulting to these players that are giving a ton of themselves to this program. Have you been to Corvalis? It is a dump! I will agree on the players, but I do feel some are there just to finish their degrees. The talent is not here to run these new systems. Regardless, fans expect wins.
  15. DB's program feeds off listeners. He will say anything to get more followers. He rides the fence on issues and goes back & forth in a couple of weeks. I also do not listen anymore.
  16. That was not the point, please read the posts. I was saying that you can not compare Oregon St. to Nebraska. To make it simple, Oregon St. has High School facilities and a University that failed to financially support the football program. To respond to your statement, Nebraska did not run an offense to support an NFL caliber QB, Reilly does & he will get a QB in here that can run his system.
  17. Was just looking for these stats. Thanks for posting. So clearly not TA's fault, or at least not his sole fault. This is an average staff continuing a long trend. Personally, I would not have a problem seeing where things go, if people would quit blaming players. Then the player should quit throwing stupid interceptions. He thinks he has to make a play instead of throwing it away. Hopfully POB will put enough pressure on him to make him fear for his job. He might be inclined to make better decisions. So you are blaming the players for the INT's at Oregon State, but who recruited, developed, and called the plays for those QB's who threw all those INT's at Oregon Statw. The one constant in all of those INT riddled years is Riley. The qb at Oregon St threw 11 INT's this year, last year under Riley their qb threw 8, without Riley they increased 30%. Yup Riley's fault. That's a constant I guess. Ha! Yup and they lost more games with the new offense! Conservative does not mean wins! When you look at that list only 1 QB (Moore) is in the NFL. You can not get NFL talent at the hole of football called Oregon St., so please stop the comparison. We had as many interceptions in the past with Tommy & T-Magic and excluding this year as Oregon St. and they threw 3 times as many passes.
  18. Ryker is terrible! He threw 4 against one of the worse defenses in the country. If he started against Iowa, we would have lost by 30, maybe 40. We have a long record, going back to T-Magic, of trying to make a running QB throw. It does not work. Bring on O'Brien!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I don't have to read any further before I call horsesh#t. But I will read further (posts). All of them. Come on man, don't rock the boat. You are using your words too carefully to point fault of INTs away from what happens on the field. You knew what we had last season behind center. By the time Miami game ended you knew things would not change for our QB no matter what. I mean, he is the one who chucks it in the direction as he wishes. Its why I said both were to blame, but let's face it, Tommy didn't improve, and it can be argued he regressed. That means Danny and Mike didn't craft the offense to Tommy's skill set properly and asked him to do things he wasn't good at, right? I think they did early on, but our OL run blocking has not been very good & no backup QB backup up and I think they gave up!
  20. We also need to take into consideration of the injuries early, but 50+ from Purdue was just ugly.
  21. OL recruiting has been solid, if you believe in the sanctity of recruiting rankings. We just don't see those kids at all.walk Over the last 5 years, we have had 4 4 star OL, Thurston is a SR. and 3 freshman Gates who starts, Tanner & Barnett (Reilly recruit) who are redshirting. That does not look solid to me. Based on what service? Just going back to 2011 on rivals, there have been 8, not to mention a number of 3 star guys who had multiple offers from top 25 teams. Rivals, 3 stars are a dime a dozen and are hit & miss. Funny that we start a freshman, a walk-on & a transfer, which does not stay too much for our past recruiting.
