  1. Several Nebraska players played in the LA area. Could be these two were friends? Could very well be. Still kind of bothers me. Not that it really matters I suppose, nobody will remember by August. It is one thing laughing on the sidelines with your teammates while losing and another laughing with the other team after the game. We fault and did not quit.
  2. Or, don't turn the ball over inside the USC 10 yard line before halftime. Get a field goal at least, and it may be a different game. Foltz was big tonight, and 2 blocked punts in any game is huge. D wasn't great, but USC had -2 yards in the 4th quarter prior to their last possession. Three straight 3-and-outs to give the offense a chance to score were big too. All 3 phases made killer mistakes that are magnified in a close game. Our D was not horrible, but the outside runs and passes killed. The same old crap. Good Reddens Popouch!
  3. Tonight USC looked much bigger & stronger than the Huskers. Regards, Dobson did not do a good job here. Bring on Mr. Phillip.
  4. Who were the 2 NE coaches arguing on the side lines in the first half? The announcers commented on it, but I missed it. They said Barney had to step in between them. We must have had Bo's spirit on the sidelines.
  5. Nebraska is definitely one of the schools he will visit. Along with 4-5 others. The girl I know plays college basketball in the B1G and apparently said he's trying to enroll by January so he would be eligible next January right before conference play. With his injury last season I heard something about submitting paperwork to be eligible immediatelyIf either are true, he would need to decide in the next week or so....correct? Roughly, not sure last day to register for UNL Jan. 11th or 12th
  6. Music City Bowl is in Tennessee. There's the New Orleans Bowl but no major conference team has ever played in it. ok just asked because someone told me that they would play in New Orleans for a Bowl Game or maybe another game idk Monique, any word on coaches! Thx!
  7. I would like Kaz to stay, but he is to connected to Bo which is an issue.
  8. My Guess: Wichita State, Missouri, Creighton, not sure on #5 I was thinking maybe Georgetown, he took an official there during his HS recruitment. You 2 are pretty good at guessing there. Just missing the SEC school and a big east school FYI - Missouri in the SEC.
  9. It is the HC job to discuss game plan. Papuch always had the dumbest look his face when we could not stop the run. He is over his head and I can not see anything changing.
  10. Not sure if serious?DL Suh, Crick, Turner, Allen LB Dillard, Compton, Fisher DB Amukamara, Hagg, Asante, O'Hanlon, Dennard That is your 2009 defense that inherited from Callahan Yep.....apparently not all coaches need a transition year.Sensing sarcasm right? The 2009 defense was beast. But the thought was that we should expect 7 to 8 wins next year. Bo first year was 2008 and with that so so defense and offense in transition he won 9 games. The 2009 defense was awesome but it didn't play any games in 2008. 2008 wins W Mich SJSU NMSU ISU Baylor KU KSU CU Clemson How does the 2015 schedule compare to those easy Ws? Oof. God Bo was a total garbage man. Him in the XII during the rg3/Briles/Collin Klien would have sent him to Youngstown a ton earlier. Oh, and to everyone, stop calling it "Callahan's mess". All his mess did was hand Bo his most talented teams. Callahan could recruit but not coach kids. Bo could coach kids, but not recruit. Both were horrible teachers. I would say both are horrible head coaches. The NFL typically doesn't constantly employ bad teachers, and Callahan has had a job there since 07. Bo may be at his last outpost at the upper level. Agree with you 100%
  11. Huh? Look at Gomes, cockrell, Jean Baptiste, maliek Collins, Leroy Alexander, dpe, ameer, cethan Carter, and the list goes on and on of guys that were not highly recruited but impact players. Heck we even beat a lot of in state schools on evaluating talent like deoin Jones and Jason hall but lost out late to in state schools. They were very good at identifying talent that was often over looked. Heck, they even turned Cody Glenn into a pretty solid LB. Exactly what I said, most of the players did not reach their potential. The only big time recruit is Collins and he grew up knowing NE football. Gomes may be the only one of the bunch, besides Ameer that has got better under the past staff. Talent refers to playing in the NFL. Gomes - different position coach. Cockerall & Baptiste - never reach full potential. Collins - great LOCAL talent. Kaz is a good coach. Alexander & Carter - Not great talent & we will not know if Bo's staff could have made them better, but Beck does not like the TE. DPE & Ameer - the 2 out of 7 years of finding talent. Alexander & Carter were not considered great talent out of HS. Cethan Carter was a 4 star TE if I'm not mistaken.... He was a 2-3 star, who LSU offered a grey shirt. Our biggest competitor was Memphis. I think this kids has talent and Riley will make him a star. Under Beck, he would have been nothing spectacular.

  13. Here is a list of great hidden talent this staff found: Dennard Gomes Martin T.M. Bell Ameer DPE I did not include Gerry because he is a local kid who grew up with NE football. Not a lot of players over 7 years. I am just saying that Bo & his staff under achieved as evaluators & teachers. I believe that Carl, Saunders, Ekler, Fisher & Kaz were the best teachers. 3 are long gone & 2 just started.

  16. If he was that good, he would becoming to play for the Huskers. I wish Walton all the luck in the future. I do not think Bo or his staff could evaluate talent and that is way several players never got any better. It appears that the new staff looks for the extra piece called upside.
  17. I will cheer for my Huskers, but I do not have much hope. It's a gloomy morning in NE, hopefully the Huskers can brighten it up.
  18. Most of the Sr. will want to win and their are several who will want to show the new staff what they can do. The questions lies in the coaching staff being able get them to play together. The purple dinosaur, Beck & Poch do not excite me.
  19. So Ron Brown didn't go out on the road and recruit? Brown was a good recruiter. He is the guy most mothers what their boys to play for.
  20. I've seen improvement out of Petteway each of the last 3 to 4 games, but it take more than one player to win. Shields needs to stay within his game and Pitchford looked like he starting to get back to his old self. Benny either needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end or we need to start Smith at PG. The pieces are starting to come back together and now we need to be strong in conference play.
  21. What. When you struggle to score 40 points in the game, you have issues. When the other team has 21 turnovers and you are behind, you might have issues. Yes it's time to panic. LMU, incartne word are not even close to big ten power. Who knows maybe scoring more points in 5 mins then the did in 20 mins last night, might get them kick started. We are playing with 9 scholarship players and 1 big man. We have a point guard who needs to be more active on the offensive end. Petteway is learning to play with more pressure, but he needs to learn not to foul as he needs to be on the floor for us to win. Please understand the game before you have a coronary.
  22. No need to panic, but we need our big men back. I agree that we need to give Smith more playing time .
