  1. We can beat Mich St., but it is not all on Tommie's shoulder. Beck can not get cute & the line needs to limit penalties, as we need to keep third downs under 10.
  2. From subject to subject, you are the most negative poster on this form. Are you trolling?Just keeping it real, brah. Things aren't all lollipops, rainbows, and unicorns. Never said there were, just that there are more positives in life than negatives.

  4. I agree. I think we're lose by 2 touchdowns. I'd rather play wiscy and the hokks now while they're still struggling, but we have to do what we have to do. Please go to bed by 7 next Sat!
  5. I took my 15 yr. old daughter to the game and she told me that he was a SPECIAL player that NE will miss next year.
  6. I agree, our LBs need to step it up. I thought Zaire Anderson stepped up pretty big last night. I have to rewatch the game but I think I heard his name quite a bit. Blew a few plays up big. It was hard to tell who was who though, After the 1st quarter, I would agree. The numbers were hard to read on the uniforms, so it was difficult to tell who was making the plays.
  7. My concern is what are supposed to be higher percentage passes for most QB's, is the opposite for TA. He seems to struggle with those passes. This was a problem last year, but he has gotten better. He just needs to perfect the touch pass. As long as he is reviewing film, he will continue to get better. To win next weekend it will take more than just Tommy. Our LBs need to play better and out line needs to reduce penalties.
  8. Yep. We won't be able to afford many, if any, mistakes. This game possibly comes down to who has the final possession. Unless we give a few possessions away. Credit to our defense we have also been taking the ball away the last few games. Davies two picks were fantastic and Gerry's grab was simply amazing. The importance of Armstrongs game against Michigan state will be converting some third down situations I think. Continuing and sustaining drives. I have no reason not to expect a big play or two also. WR matchups will be interesting to watch. Hoping Westerkamp can get back in the mix a lot in this game. Maybe use Pierson-Els athleticism at WR a bit on some of those screen routes. Something to move the offense and let Tommy find a rhythm. Right now, we haven't been throwing nearly as much, which is working out fine, but it doesn't give the QB a chance to establish that feel in the passing game. I'll just continue to hope the run game keeps going the way it has been. Even though my faith in Armstrong is high, I'm a run first kind of guy. Always have been , always will be. It seems we always blame the QB, when the last couple of years our line has put us in some bad holes do to penalties. To beat Mich. St. we need to keep Tommy out of 3rd & 10+.
  9. One of Ameer's long runs this year was due to a check down by Tommy. I think run alot on checks.
  10. I watched that game and it appeared that Michigan St. ran out of gas and started to press. I agree with the original post, I think we can take this game over in the 4th quarter.
  11. Please look at those passes, yes the defenders got their hands on some balls but most of them would have been great catches for WR. The only other one from last night that I can remember had Cotton's hands in the play.
  12. I get tired of this argument, so me & a buddy watched the passing game. Tommy throw the ball 21 times, which 3 were dropped & 2 were thrown away. A lot of his incompletions were do to throwing on the run & because we were in long downs of 20+. He is young and his biggest mistake from yesterday was throwing too late of the middle. He throws also throws little hard on short patterns. Overall, he has managing the offense very well and his legs are big plus in this offense.
  13. Different team, different year. Offense looks better than it has in years and every team has poor games. Our defense has taken major hits by injury, but they have not folded and continue to get better. Will we win the BIG Ten? I don't know, but their is enough hope with this team to think they might.
  14. Turnovers are part of the game. It is how Tommy handles himself after he makes a boneheaded mistake. I have seen a young man growing up and leading.
  15. Since we won against Miami, the Corn Nation has nothing to complain about so they write this!
  16. Maybe the Kalu pick because it was a bad decision, bad throw, and on 4th down, so it's kinda irrelevant whether or not the pick was made cuz the receiver was blanketed by two defenders, but the other two were OUR GUYS MAKING TREMENDOUS PLAYS. This is one thing that just pisses me off, and I'm not just jumpin on you TMFR. This is just a notion I see a lot and it just upsets. When we lose is cuz we suck and when we win it's still cuz we suck and the other team let us. Why cant it ever be something that our guys do well? Why does the other team always just have to suck or give it away for us to succeed? Turnovers are also known as TAKEAWAYS for a reason. Yeah, we let them move the ball on us. But damn it, when push come to shove our guys made plays to stop drives. Takeaways. Sacks and TFLs in the red zone. It aint 1995 anymore. You dont just shut down offenses these days 3 and out after 3 and out. I hate sayin this, but it really is kind of a bend dont break philosophy against offenses with the speed and athletic ability of Miami. Eliminate the big daggers and make em drive. Sometimes they'll win and sometimes they wont. Bottom line is it's about points. And we had 41 to their 24 in the time that actually mattered. You could say that, if you also think that TA's INT was also luck for Miami, which he probably doesn't. Turnovers are always a bit of luck, because they can't be game planned. You can work on techniques in practice such as ripping at the ball and you can call plays that disguise zone and man schemes, which Bo has done a pretty good job of at Nebraska. But at the end of the day, you have to count on the offense to make a mistake. Tommy's interception and fumble were as much on Tommy as they were a credit to Miami. The fumble by Johnson is a credit to our defense for getting the ball out of there, but they had to have the opportunity and Mitchell just happened to be in the right place at the right time to scoop and go to the house with it. I understand what you are saying Count. I remember when people told me that, in our national title clash with Miami, we only won because they weren't as good as they had been in years prior. And that we only beat Florida that bad the next year because momentum took control and made us look better than we were and blah blah blah. The bottom line is that WE WON last Saturday and the Canes DID NOT. Yes, we made enough plays. As far as our defensive projection for the rest of the year, based on this performance and others, FAU and McNeese... I am not feeling really good. We were not at our best against McNeese St., but there skill position players were as fast as Miami if not faster. This argument can go on and on, but McNeese St. does not play any other D1 teams.
  17. Tommy will take the blame for both turnovers, but he showed maturity by not letting these mistakes affect him.
  18. From my vantage point, the ball was way to deep to be thrown to Westerkamp, but a nice placement for an out to Moore.
  19. I don't remember the players, but there was definitely miscommunication somewhere. The play was right in front of me at the game as the receiver was running the post and the ball was thrown to the out.
  20. Miles has been watching Brandon Walters, 6'9" 290# Juco PF/C.
