  1. Not much to choose from in the MT time zone. Air Force maybe?
  2. Does a media day presser really need this much attention and scrutiny. Win games. That needs scrutiny. NU has a good shot at a good record this year, in my opinion.
  3. That is why I said on their own. Using Stanford as a carrot for ND has been discussed. Maybe both Stanford and Cal together bring a TV market, but you have to divide up the pie further. Stanford used to regularly win the directors cup because of Olympic sports and the shear number of sports they offerr, but those were cut back recently. their football was terrible until Harbaugh turned it around. I wonder if it's headed back in the wrong direction. They are a great academic fit, maybe the research money both schools bring in to the consortium would tip the scale in their favor.
  4. Similar info posted elsewhere but the entire article. A few quotes I found interesting. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.actionnetwork.com/ncaaf/big-ten-commissioner-kevin-warren-possible-expansion-college-football-playoff-more/amp "Warren said he was proud that USC and UCLA are AAU (Association of American University) members but also said being an AAU member is not a requirement for a potential future member." “Literally every Power Five conference school not in the SEC has reached out to the Big Ten,” a source said about schools wanting to join the conference. “University presidents, athletic directors, senior women administrators, you name it.” One Big Ten coach has an idea of how those things will settle. “We know how this ends,” the coach said. “Twenty or more teams in the Big Ten, 20 or more teams in the SEC. One televised on Fox. One on ESPN. Just like the NFL. And then you have your Big Ten-SEC playoff for college’s Super Bowl.
  5. I wonder who the sources are that listed the teams. I can't see Stanford or Cal bringing value on there own. Not as much as Oregon, FSU or Miami. I am surprised NC is missing.
  6. I think the Dems should have run someone besides Beto. I do not think he can pull off the upset.
  7. Seems vindictive. I am still not sure what is wrong with the crisis pregnancy centers and spending $ on adoption isn’t a bad thing. Lots of couples with fertility issues these days. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/whitmer-vetoes-20m-prolife-adoption-funding-rips-crisis-pregnancy-centers-fake-health-clinics
  8. I saw this too. The Dean refused to remove her as speaker when it was requested. I heard a dozen kids with families walked out. 168 attended. Kudos to the Dean for letting her speak. Kudos to the kids for a peaceful protest. I guess they could have not showed up too, but then no one would have noticed.

    WC Track 2022

I ran this event in college….the mens version. My current favorite athlete. Nothing but respect for Sydney as a person and a competitor.

  11. Funny. Energy independence all day every day.
  12. Not a congressional election, but I wasn’t sure where to put it. Lee Zeldin, a NY GOP candidate for governor, was attacked at a rally by a dude with a double bladed knife thingy. Zeldin was speaking against high crime and bail reforms under democrats. The guy was tackled and arrested. Zeldin predicted attacker would be released and he was….within 24 hours without bail. It’s almost like he set it all up. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ny-candidate-lee-zeldin-pledges-fire-das-refuse-enforce-law-attacker-released-without-bail
  13. Interesting. Wonder how long she has a job. . https://www.foxnews.com/media/ny-times-columnist-admits-wrong-about-trumps-supporters-says-russian-collusion-hoax https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/21/opinion/bret-stephens-trump-voters.html "Trump’s appeal, according to Noonan, was largely to people she called ‘the unprotected.’ Their neighborhoods weren’t so safe and pleasant. Their schools weren’t so excellent. Their livelihoods weren’t so secure," he wrote. "Their experience of America was often one of cultural and economic decline, sometimes felt in the most personal of ways." "It was an experience compounded by the insult of being treated as losers and racists —clinging, in Obama’s notorious 2008 phrase, to ‘guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them,'" Stephens wrote.
  14. The protestors win...sort of...they made it inconvenient.
  15. Sounds like they might be getting 75 million. I think that is enough to keep them independent. Then it's a matter of whether the Big10 moves on without them.
  16. I don't think ND has interest in the Big10. They want to be a national brand. Playing Indiana, Purdue and NW doesn't improve that "national appeal".
  17. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2022-07-20/if-climate-is-a-national-emergency-keep-gasoline-prices-high “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine already did the trick — sending the average retail price of gasoline above $5 a gallon in early June. All Biden must do is keep it from falling back," he continued. "The climate would thank him."
  18. It’s appointments like this that make the UN lose credibility.
  19. I only watch ND when they play Big10 teams. I guess that might include USC now if they continue to play.
  20. Interesting. I wonder if social issues will moves Blacks towards the Republicans. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2022/07/18/us/politics/abortion-black-voters-democrats-biden.amp.html
  21. Big12 is supposedly helping ND/NBC with extra content for NDs 75 million. Plus a 0. If I were Oregon, Washington, Stanford and California, I would wait too. No more GORs….it’s inevitable.
  22. This is good for the Big10. I wonder what the PAC12 is thinking. Maybe more $$ on their own.
