  1. 35-0 and a state championship; very impressive! Congrats to Tanner!
  2. 100% agree with Enhance. I don't necessarily love all the ranting and raving, but a lot of head coaches do that. It's a passionate position. But the good things that he and his staff do for the program must always be considered. I'm just tired of all of the conversations about him, to be honest. I get that it's the offseason and there isn't as much to talk about, but enough with the Bo must go garbage. Let's talk about the exciting work the staff is doing in recruiting, speculate about next year, etc. But it's time to leave Bo and his job security out of it.
  3. Yet another thing that makes me proud to be a Husker! I'm glad it worked out for him; he's a great coach and this sounds like an awesome opportunity. Very cool of him to share the process and show his appreciation.
  4. The Kilt's food is definitely better than Hooters, but service is usually not that great. We have a few here in AZ (including what I believe was the original one in Tempe), and I have a buddy that managed one in Denver. It's interesting that the talent has to sign "talent contracts" that require them to keep up their appearance, not gain too much weight, etc. Wow.
  5. That's an impressive spread. I'd love to see them get more out of Arizona. There are some very strong schools here (including one that beat Gorman last year) that send lots of talent to D1 every year. I'll be happy to take a scouting position in AZ!
  6. Now that I looked back at it, what happened was Keller was named the starter by Koetter (what a joke of a coach he was for ASU), and Rudy Carpenter "allegedly" threatened to quit the team. Several players in the ASU leadership council went to Koetter and told him they disagreed with the decision. At the time, Carpenter was a sophomore, Keller was a senior, and Koetter changed his mind and benched Keller. That led to him leaving for the Huskers. What a mess!
  7. I don't know how much of it was ASU asking him to leave, as much as it was him and his dad whining after he wasn't named the starter. They threw a pretty big hissy fit and that led to him transferring. Whether it was his choice or the school's is a matter of opinion, but you're completely right, it absolutely had an adverse affect on the team.
  8. I saw both sides of the Keller transfer. While here at ASU, I wasn't a big fan of how he handled the QB competition (with Rudy Carpenter, I think?) but the bigger issue was his father. He really made a spectacle of himself down here, and I thought that it unfairly painted Sam in the wrong light. That being said, I was excited that he chose to come to the Huskers and was hoping for great things from him. Unfortunately as others have said, that season was a train wreck, none of which was Keller's fault. I'm not sure why so many have such strong feelings against him.
  9. Except he was probably close to setting a record for personal fouls in a career lol Very true. It was so frustrating as a Sun Devil fan to watch his antics on/off the field. So much talent but not much going on upstairs. Truth be told, his coach at the time (Dennis Erickson) had a lot to do with this. He sheltered Burfict so badly that it really caused some serious issues. But, it's refreshing to see how much a change of scenery can help a player as he's now a captain on the Bengals and every season is among the league leaders in tackles.
  10. My son is a sophomore and is just getting started on this process. He is receiving attention both academically and athletically. Right now it's just a lot of fun for us to go to the mail every day and see what schools are in there. But we have made it very clear to him that we would love to be part of the process, that we will provide as much (or as little) feedback as he asks for, and that ultimately it's his decision to make.
  11. Todd is clearly frustrated and venting, but I think the target is wrong. He does take some responsibility but his college career clearly has not turned out as planned. His younger brother is doing well from what I've heard, and the youngest brother is creating quite a buzz in his high school career. He makes some good points that I completely agree with about signing day though. I watched some of it yesterday, and it was such a circus. The kids come across in a pretty bad light with the whole "hat ceremony" piece. Makes me respect those who sign earlier even more.
  12. Yeah, nothing wrong with another Vontaze...dude was/is a baller!
  13. I saw Norcross early on in the season on one of the nationally televised high school games. I remember thinking this kid was pretty raw, but man, what an athlete. At the time I hoped that Nebraska would take a look at him; funny how things work out. And great to see the work that Coach Warren is doing; definitely looking like a very solid hire!
  14. Good points guys, and the stats would have definitely been different if TM had been there for sure. I was just merely pointing out that it was silly to view ASU's offense by only looking at one horrendous performance in the bowl game.
  15. Bummer. That kid is a stud, and the high schools in Chandler (especially Hamilton and Chandler HS) are really churning out some elite talent. Both programs are among the top in the state every year for a reason.
  16. Right, that makes sense to look at one game to determine how well the offense played for all of last season. Compare both seasons in final NCAA rankings. Passing yards per game: ASU 32nd, NU 58th. Rushing yards per game: NU 19th, ASU 40th. Points per game: ASU 10th, NU 48th. I can see how those stats could appeal to a WR.
  17. Boy are they excited about this one out here. And as far as kissing his NFL chances away, I don't necessarily agree with that. ASU's offense is performing at a very high level, especially in the passing game. With Taylor Kelly coming back, I could see that being very enticing for a Juco WR, especially when compared to TA throwing him the ball next year. Would have much rather seen him become a Husker, but it's a great get for ASU.
  18. I am really enjoying reading the updates of all the potential future Huskers and the analysis that you all provide. This got me thinking about the other side of the coin. Do any of you have experience as the one who was being recruited (whether it was by the Huskers or not)? I'd be very interested to hear how that experience was from someone who went through it. I have a son who is currently a sophomore in high school, and he's been getting some interest from schools (both academically and athletically). He's currently playing in three sports at the varsity level, but may not be playing football next year and may focus on wrestling and track (he's pretty small for football unfortunately). I'd really like to get an idea of what he may be in for. Thanks! AZ
  19. My understanding is it's really up to him. Heard he doesn't really like it here, at least not the LPD. But hell, keep your willy in your pants dude. Guess it's okay to walk around with your willy out in Arizona. Nice! But nope, definitely not. The local PD tends to frown on that here too.
  20. Man, that gets me fired up! Very well done. Damn, I miss Friday Night Lights...
  21. I just don't see this as saying he's going with Joseph. It reads to me that he'snot following him, instead wishing him well "but best of luck to him." When you wish someone the best of luck, you typically aren't right alongside that person. You're wishing them luck on the venture they're choosing. Just the way I read it. Sure hope we keep him. Otherwise we'll be back in the JUCO well for CB or two next season for sure. Exactly. I really hope we keep him, but I think you're on the right track. Hopefully we get that coaching slot filled quickly and move forward.
