  1. Playing an SEC school in Florida is good.
  2. Who? Darlington has to be a redshirt unless emergency and that's off injury issues alone. We have a situation where we have two extremely young QBs, nobody who has assertively taken the reigns, and that's it for the competition. Numbers wise, another body can only help. A lot of recruits have flaws, but there should be no reason why with only three scholarship QBs total there isn't a schollie available to add just a fourth body to the group. Especially when the three you have are RFr, RSo, TFr. I think you send the signal that you're managing the numbers situation well and you expect everyone to compete. Valid points.....and in my broad view opinion, even though we have depth at the quarterback position, it may be the position that hurt us most this season from the perspectives of turnovers and inability to move the chains when we needed to most.
  3. Heupel, the qb on Stoops 2000 OU natty team was a juco transfer from Snow UT.
  4. And fans still wanted to run his ass out of town. no one is arguing that fans can be irrational. but does that mean we are being irrational when we think we have seen bo's ceiling? You've seen a coaches ceiling after 6 seasons?
  5. I'll go for Ohio State. I cannot get myself to hope Mizzou wins. I wish I could, but I just can't do it.
  6. That assumes Shawn Eichorst tried contacting him or other coaches, which in no way has been confirmed or even hinted at by any legitimate source. Regardless, this is Washington. Peterson has always said he loved Boise, so Washington is by no means a destination job for him at this point, at least from the outside looking in. He could possibly be lured elsewhere if this turns out to be true. He never got that chance too because he couldn't get the $$$$ needed for the buyout thanks to a certain old HC/AD who is more worried about his legacy than what is good for the program. So the hope is that after one more year of the same old sh#t, more people will open thier eyes and realize that this staff needs to be shown the door. And the buyout is approx 2M less. Or a "certain old HC/AD" who has been involved in this business for a day or two longer than the average internet guy believed it was the right way to go. Apparently a lot of decision makers agree.
  7. I'm guessing you are referring to the Osborne years in which he tied for the conference title in his 3rd and 6th seasons as a coach, and ended the regular season ranked no lower than #12? Or was this in reference to something else? It has been covered a "few" times.....Osborne took over a program that had won back to back national championships. That had a lot to do with why he felt heat for not winning the outright conference title in nearly his first decade as head coach.
  8. ...... for the relatively few on this message board. We're never going to have a scientific poll of Husker fans showing the breakdown in support/opposition to Pelini, but I do think the sentiment on here is a good proxy for what most fans think. Most are probably not as passionate as those who post on here, but I think there is a large group that are not happy with Bo and would like to give another coach a chance. I don't

  10. Here's a perspective on the fake punt......opportunity was there. http://hailvarsity.com/2013/12/tale-of-the-tape-iowa/
  11. It has been said Pelini "dared" the administration to fire him. Pelini did not use the word "dare", but the word has appeared in the media. That word is as much sensationalism as the speculation surrounding Pelini's job security was.
  12. ......if only Pelini would have looked to an internet forum for answers........
  13. Seriously? A team meltdown? The Northwestern game is when things started to click for the defense.....and we saw leadership on both sides of the ball.
  14. "Almost losing" and "defiant child act"......I enjoy the attempted usage of influential terminology. Curious as to what you call the Wyoming game and the post game Iowa scene. I'd call both of them what Pelini alluded to more than once as the season went along. Disappointing offensive performances. In a game where the defense gave up over 30. Heh. Yep

I'd call both of them what Pelini alluded to more than once as the season went along. Disappointing offensive performances. I don't know. Some people think Pelini was plenty offensive post game Iowa. That number reduces if you don't count those wearing press passes.

I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill with the post game Iowa scene. Nebraska led off sportscenter after it. They haven't done that in I don't know how long. And it was because of how Bo Pelini acted. Respectfully disagree I hope it got them good ratings to pass along to their advertisers. I didn't see it, but I've got two words from Eichorst's memo for ESPN....."unfounded speculation".

  19. Yes, and on this message board the height my computer showed was under 800 people (less than 1% of Memorial Stadium capacity)....and that was this past Saturday morning with people looking for "news". I think significantly less than that actually post. I have no idea if it's actually representative or not.....but I know the negativity I read on Huskerboard toward Pelini is not shared by the other Husker groups I am part of.
  20. Is there anything to back this up other than media polls?
  21. This may be an example of media influence.......how do you know this is correct?
  22. And look how many people took his statement after the game and twisted it to say what they wanted. Also, I remember hearing quite often that evaluations will be after the season. Agreed. Jeremy Foley gave Muschamp a strong public voice of support. The media was happy to not let the facts get in the way of ratings and kept right on going about his job security.
  23. I agree.....it's overblown. Of the different Husker circles I'm in, Huskerboard is the only place it's even mentioned.
