I think Moos got it too... I just think we have been through a lot of B.S. that has slowed the rebuild down considerably. Think about it. This is the most normal season we have had since Frost was hired and it still opened with a week 0 conference game.

I was screaming/pleading, just run a QB sneak at the TV before this play. Then they came out in shotgun, and I thought... awe crap. Then he got the first and I thought, whew at least it worked out. Then he was stripped and I though... damn it. That wouldn't have happened with a qb sneak... 2 years ago QB sneak was in the playbook. Frost made hay with it back in the day... its the easiest play in the world to call, especially when you have two cracks to gain 1 yard. SMH

Well he did part of that at UNO- fired every single football and wrestling coach and didnt hire any. So its not completely out of the realm of possibilities.

No depth on the oline. You better play pretty damn clean if the coaching staff thinks there is someone who can play as good or better than you on the sidelines. That doesn't exist for the line.

He threw it to his best receiver and gave him a chance to make a play... if he would've thrown it to someone else and it didn't work, everyone would be asking, "Why didn't he give his best receiver a chance to make the play."

You build depth and talent and continue to get better. A line that doesn't have to put Benhart in when someone gets hurt would be the first thing. Have a full two deep oline that you can count on would be great. You build that with time. IMO. The Oline is what is holding us back. The screw ups of skill players are just the easiest to see.

Like I said playing one top 10 team close or even beating one ala Mich State for Riley can be a fluke. You catch them sleeping, get in a rhythm and bam- because they don't expect you to compete... thats where we were with Riley top teams didn't expect us to compete, so we could get lucky. The other top teams we played those years f**king destroyed us... we have now played three very different top ten teams with different styles of play and damn near took them all down. Thats not luck. Thats showing we belong.

Agreed... Martinez rushed thr throw though because the line was getting destroyed.

BTW... the last series everyone want to pin on Martinez... take a look at the time the line gave him.

Probably gonna take a break from the board till at least Wednesday... we've now taken 3 top 10 teams down to the wire with a chance to win all three in the final minutes. It sucks we didn't get the.. but I don't want to put up with all the low IQers who don't want to acknowledge the progress this team has made and want to start from scratch again with another Callahan or Riley. Loses liek this hurt. But not as bad as the blowouts and lack of fight we saw in all those teams. We are getting there.
