  1. I wonder why he would come back to college after one year in the NFL. The Giants may fire Coughlin. That leaves Langsdorf without a job. I think Langsdorf has done such an amazing job with Eli Manning's INT count that Tommy would learn a lot from the man. I agree he's done a good job with Eli, and believe he would help all Husker QBs...but would like to see him focused on Stanton. TA just doesn't have it after nearly 2 full years as a starter.
  2. I wonder why he would come back to college after one year in the NFL. I would venture to say money. I'm sure the Giants job payed a lot better than what he was making at OSU, but money for assistants is not supposed to be an issue here. Plus, he would be the offensive coordinator...he's currently a QB coach for the Giants. If he can do well as a coordinator, that's a launching pad to a HC job somewhere in a couple years.
  3. I think it's good that Riley is there in person to see just how inept TA is at QB. He can have flashes of being good, but those are far too rare to be the Nebraska QB.
  4. I think Langsdorf would be a great hire. He recently became the QB coach for the Giants, and since that time, Eli's stats have improved in just about every statistical category. Also, the guy has a great resume. http://www.giants.com/team/coaches/danny-langsdorf/038e8623-9315-4acb-aa0f-6b716ea9fbc3
  5. Sounds familiar. Bo is a true homer now! lol The reality is that Bo is not mentally stable, and is incapable of altering his behavior without medication. Something in his upbringing is contributing to this as Carl has the same issues, and I don't foresee him being able to contain his anger on his own at YSU.
  6. I guess I see it differently. Some media outlets thought NU was crazy for firing a guy that won 9 games, and indicated that Nebraska fans put too much pressure on the team. That was negative publicity that may have scared off some recruits...but this audio leak reveals the true man that Pelini is, and those that may have been second guessing SE's decision to fire Bo will now understand why he did what he did. On top of that, I think Riley's completely opposite personality marks a fresh new era for NU, and some players who never considered NU before might give us a look.
  7. Oh I think he knows...but I just don't think he can control it. It's a classic symptom of someone who is unstable and has anger management issues. They just can't help themselves. A leader of any organization, whether it's a football program or a Fortune 500 company, cannot have anger management issues and expect his team/subordinates to be successful.
  8. Maybe you should be questioning your own judgment after that statement. Just saying. Everyone needs to get over it. Bo's no longer here. Tom is no longer here. Why question the decision now? Why didn't we ask ourselves this when the firing actually occurred? And honestly, are we really, truly, positively surprised and shocked by what Bo said? If you really, and truly want to question Tom's judgment. Let's start with how he started LP. You could argue that doing that is far worse than Bo calling his boss names... It's ok to do a post-mortem and discuss these things. It's timely...this latest audio just came out, and Bo has talked about his old AD (TO) and the new AD (SE). Should we not have talked of Bo's firing the days after it happened either? As for TO, I still think highly of him as a coach, but I am very disappointed if he allowed Bo to instill such negativity in this program for so many years. If you don't care to discuss that, feel free to post in other threads.

  10. The latest audio-leak just re-iterates what a complete mental case Pelini was/is, and I'm wondering how many recruits (or their parents) would not even consider Nebraska because of Pelini. If I had a child looking to play D1 football, I certainly would not want him to have a coach like Pelini, just as I wouldn't have wanted my son to play basketball under Bobby Knight. With that said, I'm wondering if we will see any new 2015 or 2016 recruits show interest in Nebraska now that Pelini is gone.
  11. I'm not taking away from all the positive that Tom has done for the Nebraska program, but pointing out that he got this one majorly wrong. I agree we all make mistakes, but the important part is how quickly you learn from those mistakes, and don't allow them to repeat themselves. I think Tom's got his plate full honestly. If anything, I think we should be enthused as ever about Shawn Eichorst being our leader. One, I like the hire of Riley. Two, many questioned whether Eichorst had the "guts" ot the ability to make this change. Well, he did it, and if we all don't see what a disasterous direction this was headed then some are blind. This guy was not good for this team, this state, this fan base, or the unity of this program and it's supporters. Kudos to Eichorst for knowing what was best for this program when honestly, many people were questioning that very fact. I am liking the Riley hire even more each day, and my views on Eichorst have just increased significantly. Kudos to him for doing what is right.

  13. In light of tape-gate part 2, I am really questioning Osborne's judgment on this one, and wonder how he will respond to this latest tirade. TO was the one to bring Pelini onboard in the first place, and as fans we saw early on that he was a hothead, but if TO was meeting with Bo as much as Bo stated in his tape, TO had to have seen this behavior all the time. I honestly can't believe he would allow this to go on, and allow this man to turn the players against the fans. The first tape came out in 2011 when TO was still onboard, and he should have addressed it then. I am so thankful we now have SE as the AD, and I just wish he would have fired Pelini's a*s after the first year.
  14. That's the greatest shame in all of this. You have those kids' backs all these years, they trust you and look up to you. Here's a chance to help them along, to truly not make it about you. I have to agree with the characterization of this as manipulative. That's exactly what it is. Exactly...he was running this team like a cult, and they didn't even realize it was happening. He had totally turned them against the media, the administration, and most importantly the fans. It's unfortunate that Osborne didn't have the guts to terminate Pelini when he had the original leaked tape back in 2011. This guy is a total maniac, and always has been. I really feel for his wife and kids as this isn't something that just stops at the office. He has serious mental/anger issues. Are there still any Bo-lievers out there?
  15. Bo is showing his true colors yet again. It's a shame that we held onto him as long as we did. Is anyone now questioning where the anti-fan mentality came from with the players? Are there any Bo-lievers out there still missing this guy?
  16. It's not a good sign when you are an offensive coordinator and get beat out for a head coaching position by a WR coach at a school you have a prior relationship with.
  17. It looks like this could be a win-win situation. Bo is closer to home and in a program that is more suitable for him, and NU gets a new coaching staff with great enthusiasm and hope to ring in the New Year.
  18. Very well said...I was ready for Bo to go, but it's refreshing to see some guys who were strong Bo supporters recognize that Riley has done well so far.
  19. Not surprised to hear this....PETA is another left-leaning outlet no different than NOW, and I would guess many who support PETA (no poor treatment of animals) also support Planned Parenthood which accepts the killing of innocent babies. Gangwish was silly for attempting this, but PETA's response is even sillier.
  20. Yes...lol. I was hoping it would be obvious without needing that graphic.
  21. I am hearing that Paul Chryst will be the new Wisconsin head coach. Nothing official yet, but sounds pretty solid. Given that Chryst did not have a winning record (19-19 at Pitt), it looks like Wisconsin might as well give up on football for the next several years until he is gone. Why on earth would a program hire a coach without a winning record. OMG.
  22. It seems to me that the persistent whining about Riley is coming from a small contingent, most of which were Bo supporters. They are upset Bo was fired for his results on the field at Nebraska, not winning a conference championship despite having 7 years to do so. Because they are upset, they are unwilling to give the new coach his due time to produce ON THE FIELD. He will need time to instill his system with the existing set of players, while also building a team in the future (recruits in the next couple years) to align with his core coaching philosophies. I don't know many fans out there that were not willing to give Bo a fair shake when he arrived, and the same should be given for Riley.
  23. You beat me to it. Riley is on a roll. For all of those worried about who all his assistants are, please realize that this is his last week he can make in home visits until January, and I would rather him spend his time/energy firming up our recruits, and then get to finalizing his staff next week.
  24. Yeah, if he was such a good coach, I would have expected other D1 Power 5 programs to be fighting over him.
  25. Lol...very true. I'm glad for Bo, but can't wait to hear what his supporters here think about him not getting another major D1 coaching position.
