  1. Neat little history fact between the two teams, Nebraska and Michigan have had similar records throughout the series history when facing each other. This year both teams are 6-2. 2012 Neb 5-2 def Mich 5-2 2011 Mich 8-2 def Neb 8-2 2005 Neb 7-4 def Mich 7-4 1911 Neb 5-1-2 def Mich 5-1-2 1905 5-0 Mich def 4-0 Neb 31-0
  2. I hate when people assume the worst outcomes. This is why the game is played. Anything is possible.
  3. Ameer is averaging 7.1 YPC. If it weren't for Cross, he'd probably have 16 total rushing TD's for the year IMO. I think Ameer is an APB similar to Jamaal Charles w/ the Chiefs without the break away speed.
  4. This game is going to be physical. I think we win going away 24-13.
  5. It's hard to kick a person while they're down. TM has multiple injuries we really need him 100% because how far can TA/RK3 take us? We don't know. What we do know is when TM is on his game, he can score at any time and has helped lead the team to 2 conference championship games during his career. Something neither TA/RK3 has done but I hope they can if TM doesn't play the rest of the year...
  6. I learned that getting a knee to the head will make you run in the opposite direction of a celebration (RK3)
  7. Loved how the fans were in this game to the end. Pure LOYALTY! Never, ever give up. That is what we can take from this game. A win is a win, we saw improvements on defense and a lot of work needs to be done on offense right now... really need both sides to compliment each other the rest of this year.
  8. Really really proud of the way the team responded in this game. Defense had their backs against the wall quite a bit I absolutely loved the energy the defense brought. The d-line + the blitzes we brought worked out very well. Seemed like late in the game NW QB's were rattled. We needed this game and this could be our turning point. Bo, you and your team certainly deserve to celebrate but please do not let it turn into a hangover, keep this thing going!!!
  9. bump. Let's go BO! Haven't seen coach chomp gum on the sidelines lately. Since when have you lost your swagger? Here,
  10. Excellent post, couldn't agree more. Going into this season, that's what a lot of us expected to happen. Hoping we take NW to the woodshed saturday. We are still in it for the legends, not all is lost right now!
  11. This was obviously a ploy by Bo Pelini to re-hire his brother to rescue our defense again. It was really the Carlfense that made the difference in 08-11.
  12. Yeah the RB thing has me thinking. Abdullah is having a great year. He just gets better and better as the game goes along yet we deviate from feeding him the ball when hes popping off 8-10 yard runs... I get the whole wanting to take your shots but you really have to pick them instead of forcing them which is what it seems like Beck does sometimes w/ play calls and I'm sure he would be the first to admit that.
  13. I appreciate the time and effort you put into writing this. Thanks. There are a lot of realists these days but this team and these players have been here before. They didn't just walk their way to the B1G title game last year. It took a lot of passion, effort, energy something I hope this year's squad can duplicate and then some. I wish nothing but the best for these players and the coaching staff. At the end of the day, they are human, they feel horrible too just like the fans do. Maybe this game against NW is exactly what the program needs. Back at home and an opportunity to become 6-2 and stay in the legends race.
  14. If Bo is fired/resigns, the hiring of Eichorst tells me the next HC will have no ties to Nebraska. This hire will need to be a bigger splash than Callahan/Pelini combined. We have to be willing to put $4 mil on the line that would put the next HC in the top 10 of highest paid coaches. Petersen comes to mind but with Texas looking for a HC, USC, heck if Saban leaves Alabama who is to say Petersen wouldn't be approached by Alabama? If anything, we can hope the timing will be perfect and all those schools get the coaches they want and some big name coach becomes available and what do you know, the one big head coaching gig available in college football? The opening at NU and we snag him. Of course my dream scenario would be Chip Kelly stays with Philadelphia then abruptly resigns to run to NU.
  15. Why leave Miami when he can easily recruit down there plus the benefit of nice weather. Miami has just as much tradition/history as NU maybe just not as strong a fan base... I don't see Golden coming to NU. He's already sort of brought Miami back from the pits... NU would be considered a lateral move to him IMO. And I may be wrong but Eichorst had nothing to do w/ Golden down there (his hiring anyway.)
  16. Please no. Aunt Jamima? Orville reddenbacher? Mr. clean?
  17. I noticed right away when MN had the ball they were running plays completely identical to what Wisconsin ran in the B10 title game last year. Immediately I was thinking... here we go again. Had that been Mich St/Michigan they may have hung 40-50 on our defense... it's demoralizing to see a team like MN run power at us and we can't stop it it's like getting a taste of our own medicine from the 80's, 90's, early 00's. Stings quite a bit.
  18. There was no division when Tommy and Ron were playing quarterback. The team played as a team. The Illinois and Purdue games were two of the most, if not the most, well-rounded, complete in all 3 phases, performances we've seen under Bo-regardless of the competition. And we saw glaring progress on the defensive side of the ball. I think Bo wants out as much as we want him gone. He may have wanted to be here at one time, but as a head coach, we and he have learned that maybe he's just not cut out to handle the microscope. Maybe that's the problem that TA/Ron helped make the team better? Some times players will align with another and against the other. Heck, the o-line looked awful w/ TM in there but fabulous when TA/Kellogg played. O-linemen will die for you as long as you're completing passes. I think poor decision making by a QB reflects on the performance for the rest of the offense. However, TA/Kellogg did not play pure quality teams. What will people do/say when they play poorly and the team plays poorly against say NW for example? Then the blame goes back to Bo.
  19. Do what Urban Meyer has done at tOSU? I don't know. It's hard to put expectations I guess most people will say no blow out losses, no more than 4 losses per year, beat top 15, top 10 opponents.
  20. I sense a division among the team and players. They don't seem united together and that starts with the leader, Bo. He has to take control of the team and flat out say, "This is what we're going to do, and this is how it's going to be, and this is what's going to happen." If he can't do that, then he has lost the team altogether... this remains to be seen IMO. I don't know what the deal is, the team psyche seems to be down. Maybe Bo stopped being the motivational speaker he used to be, I don't know. I've noticed he is way more calm now, and no more chomping of the gum. Maybe he lost his mojo? This is really confusing/frustrating at the same time. Strange things are happening within the program. In football, teams take the personality of their coach a lot of times... maybe that is what we are seeing this year again.
  21. Drastic change as in W's the rest of the year? That about fill your appetite? If you're thinking coaching changes, that's not going to happen. Personnel? I can definitely see that becoming a possibility soon.
  22. I'll support who ever is in charge of the football team. We're only 5-2 with 5 winnable games. The door is still open to have a good year either 9-4, 10-3, 11-2, whatever it is... we can't ask a coach who finishes with a record like that to step down or beg for his dismissal. So it is ridiculous that many panic at the first sign of trouble instead of supporting the team while they look for ways to win. I challenge whether Bo can make big decisions moving forward and how the team will respond to this loss. Nothing irritates me more than when people panic/freak out and have no solution(s) to the problem. That's what a majority of our fan base does when we lose. Chalk it up to lack of preparation, lack of leadership, whatever it is... Bo has found ways for his teams to win at least 9 games and it isn't luck. It takes hard work, effort that is all I expect out of this football team. If they can just push a little harder, great things can happen. Indy is still there, but they've got to take it and run with it. It starts with NW.
  23. Yeah that is where it gets out of line, the threats. I'm all for this staff. I just want them and Bo to be successful so you won't find me chanting for him to be ousted. I might post in threads about future replacements and that is only because it is about something I have no control over whatsoever. I can, however, control my support for the team. If it's a sinking ship as many will say it is, then I'll root for it's captain to right the ship. There's an unconditional kind of love that has been missing from this fan base for quite some time. One way Bo can be appreciated again is by winning. Really, that's all that matters.
