It was cold. We pay very little for the tickets. It was 11am. It was homecoming. We were up by 20. Sorry we have other things to do. I was there for the whole game, but people need to shut-up when they talk about the student section. There were also rows in the SW corner of the stadium that were empty, too. Wouldn't paying little for tickets and Homecoming attract more students? SW corner is visitor tickets. Very poor showing by Illinois. Generally, paying less for a ticket makes you feel less bad if you choose not to go. You would feel worse for missing something that cost you $100 than you would $20 Yea and if you paid $100/ game we'd have no one there so quit being stupid. That was a pathetic showing by the students end of story and this is coming from a not so far removed student.

It's hard to make a fair assessment of the NU secondary when there's not much pressure on the quarterback and he has 5+ seconds to find a receiver. They're certainly not as good as previous years but we also don't have a NFL quality corner on the field like we did with Amukamara or Dennard. I'd say the jury is still out on having a NFL quality corner on the field. SJB sure looks like he has the potential and maybe even Ciante(not sure about him). I know you said players on the field but here's to hoping some of the players like Jonathan Rose who haven't seen the field can still become something special. Side note: I don't think SJB or Ciante are the caliber of players like Amukamara or Dennard but I still think there may be some potential there.

Off the top of my head i'll say Matt Herian. He was a Junior when he broke his leg against Mizzery but it affected the rest of his career and what should have been a huge Senior season. Up to the injury he was on pace to break records at NE. Honestly think he woulda been very highly drafted and one of the Husker greats if not for the injury.

I agree with this, although I do think we can demand defensive improvement.

I will also never forget that game, unfortunately. I was at that game as a student and that was a brutal game to attend. I don't know if this has been brought up before, but the rumor was that a large majority of our starters were out partying in DT Lincoln the night before bc it was lowly ISU and we should beat them no matter what. I know that at least a couple of them were actually seen drinking DT and they sure as hell played like they were all hungover as can be.

You must have misunderstood me. These comparisons based on SDSU are meaningless and will only be settled by seeing TA against good competition...that's all. For all I know he's a terrible qb, but from what I've seen so far that's highly unlikely and it's much more likely that he's similar to Scott Frost. TM puts up good stats against weak teams but he consistently looks overwhelmed against quality teams and doesn't even possess the ability that got him the starting job in the first place, which was his 4.3 speed....which hasn't even done him much good against the top teams anyway. I think it's a shame that fans have been put in the position of feeling they have to voice their opinion of what seems to be obvious. Maybe TA will lay an egg against the big boys....only one way to find out. Well put Hayseed and I can agree more, it's beyond obvious why many are ready for the next thing after TM and feel the sooner we get on with that the better. TA obviously has the tools to be everything we want in a QB. RK III is slower than molasses, so when the pressure comes he may be in trouble. Also he can't run our full playbook of QB runs, at least not based on his speed and the play calling we saw. I also felt TA threw a better ball than RK III, but it appears he is the best 3rd string QB we've had in a long time (or at least since Ganz). You're nuts if you really think he is slower than molasses. Ron is a much better athlete than a lot of people give him credit for. Tommie Frazier, is that you?
