  1. I don't remember the exact rankings but in Solich's last year our defense was ranked like #11 in the country. There were few personnel changes but the next year our D was ranked around #99. That was very disturbing to me.
  2. If he has any dignity he'll resign during his show.
  3. Is the loss painful to you? Then you're not a fair weather fan. Anyone who is here cares about the team and thus is NOT a fair weather fan. We're not sick of losing, we're sick of seeing the team not playing up to their potential. I've NEVER been a fan of Callahan and company, but I bleed Husker red and will until the day I die, even if I don't spend $30 for my weekly dose of pain (for PPV).
  4. None of the above, but out of those choices Pelini. I would say T.O. or Alvarez for AD and I will respect their choices for what to do going forward.
  5. N all the way baby!! I support this team and all Huskers to the end.
  6. I wonder if T.O. is busy. A nice athletic director job might do him well. Maybe even a head coaching job.
  7. It's ESPN, so it's only one feed across the country I think. They ran something at the bottom saying that you could watch at ESPN360.com, but apparently I don't qualify for that. I subscribe to Gameplan and you'd think they could use one of those channels to show the game at least.
  8. I'll take it one further, Steve Pedersen should go and give back every penny he's been paid as athletic director for Nebraska. He should also officially apologize for being an ass.
  9. I really like Sam, he seems like a stand up guy and a great QB.
  10. The last time I remember hearing boos from the TV when a Husker game was on was when Scott Frost was booed at home in '97, which was a shame I think. But last week when the crowd booed at the end of the first half (due to Callahan's trying to end the half quickly) I was right there with them. Today I understand why they did it, but I would rather not have that happen in the stadium, let it come out during the week in the media and on the internet.
  11. I love both of them and don't want to compare them, but I just want to add one thing I don't think Zac had the benefit of a year studying the offense like Sam has had either.
  12. I was glad to hear from Carroll at the half that Joseph's injury didn't seem too serious. Hopefully he will make a complete recovery quickly. The tribute that USC did for Danelo on the field during the Idaho game was very touching. Good luck to your boy this season and I hope our teams will play again soon
  13. Exactly, BC only seems capable of running one very specific type of offense, and is incapable of taking the talent he has and making a team out of them. The best he can hope for is a perfect team for his system, and in college even if he manages to pull them together it won't last long. I just don't believe that he's a good coach.
  14. My wife is from Korea, I introduced her to college football when we first met but she became more interested in it after going to graduate school at UNL. She's now a casual Husker fan, but I think that's a pretty big accomplishment since she somehow went about 26 years without ever seeing a football game! Last year a big group of family and friends (Nebraskans all) got together here for the USC game and she was the only alum in the group Unfortunately she's never seen the Huskers win a national championship, something that must be changed!!
  15. Nah, I'm just really huge, check out my avatar
  16. I meant no disrespect toward you, you said "There is just too much to do in Southern California is the story", and I was directing my comments at those who put out that story not you. I certainly would not walk that area at night, off campus. During the day I haven't felt that I was in danger there. Of course it only takes one time being wrong to end up in the hospital or worse. I waited a long time to find out how many people wanted to go to the game in my group so I didn't get my order in until Monday morning at 3 a.m. I hope my tickets aren't in the nose bleeds. On the other hand I'm really glad I got my order in before they sold out!!!
  17. What a joke, I've been living here for years and I don't really think there is any more to do here than in Omaha. And at least in Omaha you can get to where you want to go in less than 2 hours Last year I heard on the news that more people in LA watched the Mexican soccer team play on TV than watched USC games and Lakers games combined. USC is in a pretty bad area, but when I've gone there during the day to go to museums and such I haven't hesitated to park on residential streets off campus and walk a couple of blocks. If it does turn out to be a night game I would definitely park on campus though, and I wouldn't be all that concerned. There will be tens of thousands of people leaving the stadium around the same time and likely plenty of security. I'd be more worried about traffic.
  18. Looking at the seating chart it seems like this is the norm. Also all of the other game tickets are being sold the same way, though far cheaper. http://www.usc.edu/bus-affairs/ticketoffic...atingchart.html
  19. I missed that, a co-worker mentioned it to me today. And I thought they had been totally good sports. Nothing worse than a sore loser. It sounds like most of the team were good sports though.
  20. Since Petersen decided to trash the program and hire professionals from outside the NU system. These new coaches aren't part of the Husker family, they have no allegiance to NU (didn't they have to be schooled in who our rivals were last year?). I wouldn't be surprised at all to see coach turnover go way up in the new era.
  21. Excellent game with an excellent outcome! It was sweet seeing the media darlings go down, but I have to give them credit they did it with class. When the media ran over and shoved the mics in their faces they were sportsmen. So congrats to two great teams, and here's to two great NU games next year (I'll be at the Coliseum helping to turn it in to a sea of red to support the Huskers)! And an "up yours" to the media! You know they won't. We'll be forever hearing about how they were really the first team to threepeat. "Young's knee was down". Or some other such crap.
