  1. Amart isn't close to the biggest issue. Don't confuse that with an argument that he's good, he was absolutely not good. His head coach continues to call long developing passing routes despite his OLs inability to protect him, what is he supposed to do? His coach has run concepts that doesn't allow for any semblance of a running attack to develop. It's pathetic. His coach called numerous running plays down 14 with under 4 minutes left in the game. The reason it's nice to place blame on Martinez is because it masks much bigger issues. The ineptitude by this coaching staff is far and away worse than Martinez missing throws.
  2. He is an issue, but it's far down the list. Anybody who thinks we lost this game because of Adrian is insane. We lost this game because our coaching staff doesn't belong on the sidelines of a P5 school. We lost because our staff has yet to develop a offensive scheme that allows for a running back to be successful. We lost because Adrian was pressured on 25% of his drop back passes. We lost because the OLine could not win their run-blocking battles. We lost because our secondary - the strength and most experienced unit on defense - allowed their backup QB to carve them up like he's a NFL Hall of Famer. Adrian played poorly, but he's been asked to win games with little help from his teammates and with a coaching staff that is out of their depth even in a puddle.
  3. Diaco is a perfect example. There was an Analytics guy, pushed by the Athletic Department, that also had an unusual amount of influence while Mike Riley was here. There are numerous people responsible for the downfall of Nebraska Football, many of whom who are not seen or heard on the field. This program isn't going anywhere as long as these people still plague whatever coaching staff works for them.
  4. I would agree with the comments about Texas and probably Tennessee as well. There are issues on the inside that need worked out. Nebraska is heading towards a 4-8 season, perhaps worse. Drastic changes need to be made to correct the course.
  5. We have to be honest and admit that the problems with Nebraska Football are deeper than just Frost and his ineptitude. Yes, he and his staff should be fired immediately. But the issues with Nebraska Football run deep into the Athletic Department. There are a lot of clowns in North stadium, and frankly some boosters too. Nebraska needs to hit a total reset button, not just with the staff on the field. Fire and replace every single person not named Trev Alberts. Excommunicate any and every booster who does anything other than write big checks. If they make so much as a suggestion about what Gatorade flavor we should use on the sideline, ban them for life. The rot here runs deep. And unless they find it and get rid of it, it'll come back and plague the next staff.
  6. I would push back on the talent argument. Our class is currently ranked last and we're not out recruiting our peers enough to overwhelm them with talent.
  7. Don't worry guys, our recruiting class (currently ranked last in the conference) is coming in to save the day.
  8. I misunderstood you, apologies. Florida's problem comes down to not enough adults being vaccinated. Combined with incompetent leadership (banning mask mandates, for example).
  9. Well, provide the numbers. Show us a graph comparing hospitalization/death rates among vaccinated people and unvaccinated people. It has not decoupled "some". It's unequivocal.
  10. This approach is not unique to Shapiro, he's just a routine abuser of this tactic. Another difference is that Shapiro talking points - unlike any leftist employing the same tactic - is routinely one of the most shared posts on Facebook each day. Tens of millions of shares. Similar to reasons why Fox News is the most watched news channel, the political right are far more susceptible. Furthermore, Shapiro's post in this particular example seeks to undermine masks and vaccines. Which, again, is dangerous. People will be hospitalized. People will die. All because the right has deemed it politically expedient to question masks.
  11. A screenshot of this tweet will be shared millions of times once the vaccine is approved for kids under 12, no doubt.
  12. Shapiro does this often his arguments, typically rellying on stating something semi-factual and tying it to a completely unrelated opinion to give it credibility. He is most likely correct - COVID is endemic. In the future, it'll simply be another common cold. The goal of mask mandates (or like health measures) are not made because of an assumption that we can "end the pandemic", as he claims, but are attempts to keep local hospitals from becoming more overwhelmed. This was the rational behind the announcement in Lincoln. The complete breakdown of the Healthcare systems in states like Louisiana are more examples of what we're trying to avoid. In sum, in typical Shapiro fashion, he's making a factual statement and tying it to some crackpot right-wing position to justify whatever form of crazy the political right is schilling on that particular day.
  13. I think vaccination rates of the team is pertinent considering the announcement today from the B1G that teams unable to compete due to COVID will forfeit the game. Again, these are not gotcha questions being asked. They're being asked to every coach in the country.
  14. How dare they ask relevant questions about NCAA Investigations or questions about vaccination rates (something asked to every other coach in the country - and is a point of pride to many). If this line of questioning is difficult - big time football isn't for him. He can go back to the AAC.
  15. The guy is paid 5 million a year. Cry me a river. His job is to do media interviews so stories can be written and reported to the fans. If taking questions after being a miserable coach on the field and garnering multiple off-field idiotic moments entirely self created by his own words and actions is difficult, he can donate that salary back to the university. If he keeps cashing the check, maybe he should be happy that the only thing keeping this Football Program relevant is fan support - so answer the questions so I can read articles about the program I love.
  16. I don't think it's a lack of trying. My best guess is that recruits simply aren't as interested in Nebraska at the moment. It's difficult for Frost to pitch scheme - considering the lack of offensive production. It's difficult for Frost to pitch player development - considering the lack of players ending on All Conference lists or ending up in the NFL. Unless Frost starts winning, what is his recruiting pitch going forward? What does Nebraska Football offer recruits that other programs don't?
  17. Normally I would agree, but all teams have similar issues - it hasn't stopped almost every other team in the B1G from recruiting a 4* player. I'd feel better about the class if the offer lists were more impressive. By and large we're not competing with good schools for these players. So even if recruiting services don't like them, it seems other coaching staffs don't as well.
  18. Honestly, I would have to see a study concerning vaccine side effects rather than trusting anecdotal evidence from a nurse - who hold extremely high rates of anti-mask/anti-vax sentiment.
  19. I go back and forth on this. Overall I tend to think that this class probably won't matter for the reasons you've cited - however it does mean that we're doubling down on our current roster. The results in the field suggest that is dubious. Furthermore, I do think not bringing in a single 4* player - which seems likely - isn't a good sign. Even with a small class you hope to sign 3 or 4 such players.
  20. Mav is correct, Nebraska had quite a few seniors come back, more than other teams, leaving Nebraska close to the 85 limit. We really can't take a large class this cycle. That does not excuse the quality of the class, however. Nebraska is one of two teams in the B1G along with Illinois not to have a single 4* player. Our class also ranks dead last in the conference. This has something to do with class size - but also with player quality.
  21. Eh, if you want to be fine with a poor coach who's only accomplishment at Nebraska is getting in his own way unnecessarily, defend him all you want. In the meantime, I'm going to hope the Athletic Department resembles something other than a circus.
  22. I don't think the problem is the allegations themselves. My issue is the amateurish nature of our athletic department. They lack any sort of professionalism and it's a big reason - including a complete lack of success on the field - why Nebraska is quickly becoming a joke in college football. Bill Moos retiring without being aware of it? Not professional. Grow some halls, fire the guy, and move on. We'll play anybody, including in Kazakhstan? Then don't try to skip playing Oklahoma because you don't have the coaching ability to make the game competitive. Also the pointing of the finger - was it Frost or Moos who started it? - is not professional. Constantly using the previous staff as an excuse? Not professional. Scott's team got pushed around plenty last season, including being blown out by and Illinois team that fired their coach. Frosts team is just as soft as Mike Riley's. The list goes on. Firing up Indiana by saying you wished you played them more instead of Ohio State (and losing to them), complaining about Iowa clapping, etc. The Athletic Department has been plauged by clowns for a long time now, and Scott Frost is leading the show.
  23. This is exactly the problem. Frost publicly said they'd play anybody anywhere and used the "soft" culture of his predecessor as an excuse for his failures during his first few seasons. You can't simultaneously say these things and want to not play a tough opponent because you have no faith in your teams ability to win the game.
  24. Bill Moos allowed a story to be published - on the condition that he's retired - that throws Frost under the bus. Accusations that Frost denied today. They're publicly blaming each other. This is a bad look. There is no way to spin this as a positive, although the effort to do so is admirable.
