  1. I wonder if it's like the celebrity robberies lately, only a local flavor. People follow them on social media, know when they aren't home......
  2. Couple things, Shotgun snaps are sporadic, that's scary. I know it's just highlights but in the third video count all the lateral/flat passes.
  3. Bill led the Browns to the playoffs which is basically saying he won a Super Bowl in Cleveland.... Any coach here can only sell what is available. Good facilities and you play in the B10. Early PT is nothing any more in basketball. Creighton's move to the Big East hurt Nebraska even a little more IMO, a lot more appeal than the MVC. I think we need to find more of a niche' style of basketball. I know for a fact we have to get some kids who can shoot the 3, been abysmal the last few years. Every B10 coach knew that all we had was the 'down hill' style of basketball trying to get to the cup. Good point about the Big East, I hadn't even thought of that. It was right in my face the whole time.
  4. I enjoyed watching Ed play, he had some fire in him, he was fun to watch. He had some life in him. That's what I'll miss. The thing that really bugs me is that Miles was able to turn every team he's been with at ever level until he got to us, with our state of the art facilities. Despite all that we're still the Cleveland Browns of power 5 college basketball. I'm not sure it can be done. Even Belichek couldn't turn the Brown's around (not saying Miles is Belicheck but you get the idea) And those facilities, I've asked about this before but can't recall an answer, how long is that an advantage? Are we close to missing our window in the facilities arms race? I've kind of made peace with it though, as long as I think of Nebraska as Lincoln's team and not Nebraska's team (their are 3 schools here and we're not even close to #1 IN THE STATE). I live in Lincoln, grew up here, but work in Omaha, god is it a brutal basketball season at work.
  5. I love Zac but 4th is a bit steep when you can go all the way back to Devaney days and think about all the QBs that played here. I think it's a combination of two things, recent memory, and style of play. He was the first QB in recent memory to set a bunch of passing records and since he played in this millennium he sprang to mind quickly.
  6. I wonder if Harrison Beck was one of the QB he played with that fell in this category: The rest of that quote made me think of Joe Ganz, that and all of the toughness talk.
  7. For the "Think" question: I'll be surprised if Lee doesn't win the battle, but only mildly so. For the "WANT" question: Where is the "I don't know and I'm willing to admit to that publicly choice" ? All I have to go on is some old Tulane tape and a standing ovation followed by some INTs in last year's spring game. As for transferring, I hope not, and my gut says he won't.
  8. Part of Tom's success was the offense, you could recruit to that specific offense another was continuity. He had assistants for years and years we're on our 4th post TO coaching staff since he left.
  9. Yeah, I got that impression too. I'm also a little jealous of the guy hearing his life story.
  10. Neither do I. This is the NCAA we're talking about.
  11. I thought he transferred to Kentucky for some reason. Shame he got hurt. He's kick butt in my NCAA 14 video game over 1000 yards this season.
  12. I was curious about this as well. I started making a list, but then I gave up Super Bowl 51: Vincent Valentine - Patriots 50: Zaire Anderson - Donkeys 49: Eric Martin - Pats 48: ???? 47: Sam Koch - Ravens 46: Prince Amukamara - Giants 45: Brandon Jackson - Packers 44: Carl Nicks and Scott Shanle - Saints; Cody Glenn - Colts 43: Ralph Brown - Cards 42: Russ Hochstein and Le Kevin Smith - Pats 41: Mike Brown - Bears 40: Grant Wistrom and Josh Brown - Seahawks 39: Correll Buckhalter - Eagles; Russ Hochstein - Pats 38: Mike Rucker - Panthers; Russ Hochstein - Pats 37: Adam Treu - Raiders 36: Grant Wistrom - Rams I was curious about this as well. He was on IR. Thanks Guys!
  13. I found Diaco's press conference around the 10 minute mark start talking x's and o's to be very helpful. Also I thought what Riley said about recruiting athletes and more linebackers means more help on special teams to be interesting. Sorry I don't know how to properly tag youtubes.
  14. Thanks for the info guys +1s all around. I thought I remember complaints about Pelini using two gap up front am I correct about that? I hadn't thought of the recruiting angle that's interesting.
  15. So I've been sitting on this awhile hoping someone else would start this. I'm finally pulling the trigger. Both times in my life time when Nebraska switched from what we had to a more pro style offense the end result was a losing season the first year. What can be expected of a transition to the 3-4 as a base defense? I don't recall much of an issue when we switched to a 4-3 but I was a lot younger then so perhaps my memory is incorrect. I'm concerned about Sr's next year who will have had 3 DCs in their years here. And I heard rumblings of those loyal to Bo being unwilling to adopt the last guys system. Should I worry about guys not buying in? From what little I've heard, the new guy had me buying in pretty quickly, but I'm a pretty open minded guy. School me in the 3-4. If I'm a DT recruited here to a base 4-3 should I be concerned? What about a LB? How hard are their transitions? What about the DB's I thought I read somewhere this will be their 7th DB coach in 8 seasons or something crazy. I guess, what I'm asking for is what to expect scheme, personnel and end result wise. I know no one has a crystal ball but figure some out their are way more knowledgeable about the 3-4 than I. Coach me up. Thanks.
  16. 1. I think the butt-hurtedness of Banker might be a bit exaggerated. He was asked a question, he answered it the way he always does. I doubt their friendship ended. It was framed in terms of "regret". Yeah, he used harsh language, but coaches (esp. Defensive Coordinators in my experience) tend to do that, doesn't mean they'll feel like that forever. 2. As fast as things get out a call probably had to have been made otherwise he would have heard it from someone else first and imho that would have been worse. I will miss his honesty and personality. I wish him the best. If Cosgrove can get a job at a D1A school I'm sure Banker will be fine.
  17. This one is odd. I tend to encounter more double posts than not sticking. Can you nail down under what circumstances this happens with regularity? I think sometimes, the page is a bit slow to respond. Usually, I click "comment" and it's instantaneous, but sometimes I'll have to wait a short while to make sure it goes through. If it does go through, it should appear on the page. I can't seem to make this happen now. I was responding to quite a few status in a short amount of time. Thank you for taking the time to address my concern.
  18. I think tabbing any team from the SEC is kind of a cop-out. Sometimes I think they just have a meeting and decide who is gonna make a run this year. "Auburn it's your turn". So I think Georgia, Texas A&M will get their turn. No Notre Dame, Tennessee or Texas, does that mean they are back? Not sleeping giants? Dead giants?
  19. Didn't the staff go to the Seahawks to learn their anti-targeting/rugby whatever it's called tackling technique? nvm, he was gone by then.
