  1. Geez...our o-line is so week and slow. We need an upgrade at S/C coach
  2. Armstrong is playing much better today. Stepping up in the pocket and making smart decisions to run instead of forcing throws. Even if he gets hot at the line scrimmage, it's better than forcing a throw that could be potentially intercepted
  3. As much as I think the program would be better off without Bo, I hope the seniors have a great performance today. Especially Ameer, he has done a lot for this program and has great character
  4. Can the guy...can't win big games, put Nebraska the record books for giving up the most rushing yards to a single player in a single game, micro-manages the team, refuses to fire his friends (i.e. the coordinators), criticizes the fans, just recently began recruiting well, etc. Also, we have a small recruiting class, have a fairly easy schedule next year, and a lot of returning talent for next year. What more can you say...the time seems right
  5. ^ This had me laughing out loud....so true
  6. If Bo is fired, we won't go 5-7 with a new coach IMO. We have plenty of returning talent and still play a fairly easy schedule...8-9 wins is a reasonable expectation.
  7. lol if my mail carrier continually dropped my most expense packages in the snow, I am making damn sure he gets fired. I don't mind that he stuck for his coach but....you can't be serious. How can you not reasonably understand why a coach that continually loses big games is on the hot seat.
  8. Pretty much. But can you blame the media for doing so? I don't. It's far more entertaining than what is happening on field. They are really just watching him to see him explode and chew out the player who made the mistake as he misses then next 3 plays. I have no problem with chewing a player out if it's done in private in the locker room. But, to waste the time on the field to embarrass a 20 some year old is for the birds. It's no wonder this team can't keep their cool under pressure. Their entire coaching staff implodes under it right in front of their very eyes. Then, when the schemes don't function properly, players are belittled on the sidelines. Acting like that during the game, and then saying oh it's our fault as coaches after the game is just total lip service. Just sick and tired of this self-fulfilling prophecy we have where we just get embarrassed on national television. It was extremely hard to stomach that second half as a fan. As someone had stated in a post previously, I am just disappointed at this point (not mad or angry) which IMO is the absolute worst. You can't blame the players too much as they are 20 year olds who play their tails off for our amusement Players execute. Coaches inspire and coach. Player loyalty isn't always uniform throughout the whole team. But I tell you this.... You can scream and holler at a player all you want - if you're winning football games. Ask Nick Saban or Brian Kelly. They're always screaming at guys on the sideline. Heck, I watched Saban maul a kid just this past weekend. "Such descriptions of coaches as being like gods or like fathers and of athletes willingness to run through a brick wall for them can be seen largely as a function of the coachs social role in the development of masculinity." - Power at Play: Sports and the Problem of Masculinity (Messner) Ever hear any former players be critical of Saban? Won two championships with this guy. Saban isn't there to make friends. He's there to win games. That's his role, and that's how he plays it. And that's why he's so damn good at it. That's the role of today's head football coaches. Yes, graduating players is part of the job. But players are just that - players. It's not like it used to be. A good number of today's players are so coddled (see Winston, Manziel), and a coach just doesn't have time for that. People criticize Fisher and the way he's handled Winston. Yep, I agree to a point. But his job is to coach that team, not be the moral center of one player. I know, it sounds bad. But this is the way CFB is now. More like the NFL, less like college football. Urban Meyer is good at what he does. Why? Look at what happened in Florida. Players acting nutty off the field. Did he suspend all of them? Nope. Look at Les Miles. He had a star running back KO another guy in a parking lot. Then, asks the TEAM what punishment he should give. C'mon. Say what you want. If we want success, we've got to come down off the pedestal we've placed ourselves on a bit, humanize our football coaches, and not EXPECT them to be the next Dr. Tom Osborne. First, big difference between "coddling" and chewing out a player in private. Second, I'm sure some of Saban's success is due to his ability to delegate duties, hire/work with effective coordinators, etc. instead of his ability to chew out his players. Third, you made a comparison of how a football coach is like a father. Also, like you've stated, Nebraska shouldnt expect to hire a coach that is exactly the same as TO. However, I believe Nebraska can hire a coach that takes care of business on the field and acts like a mature adult as well (pretty sure there are at least some out there in this world today).

  10. What I learned is that we are going in the history books for giving up the most yards to a single RB....can you believe that the legendary blackshirt defense will be forever known (contigent on record being broken) for that?! Just absolutely sad.
  11. Noticed this too...they called it multiple times...what in the world are they thinking...the QB was already struggling to even complete a pass so they decided to make even harder? Made no sense
  12. God...how scary is that...and I think you are right
  13. That's what happens when you fail to make adjustments...out-coached which is just sad
  14. That we get embarrassed on the national stage...quite often (and I have no bias whatsoever just hate to see us lose to a top 25 team by 30 points)
  15. We are now in the record books...for giving up the most rushing yards to a single halfback...just let that sink in and think about that
  16. We are now in the record books...for giving up the most rushing yards to a single halfback...just let that sink in and think about that
  17. And I was pi$$ed we dropped 3 after a bye.......... Like you've said, we not only play portly after bye weeks, but we seem to be unable to adjust mid-game when we designed doesn't work...just sick of being out coached by other competitive teams
  18. To further this point, 56 unanswered points...are you kidding me?!!
  19. Makes me sick to hear announcers making fun of the coaching staff at NU or poking jokes at the NU defense...it is absolutely despicable, yet they are not in the wrong....we have become at joke at the national level....a change must be made
  20. Just absolutely embarrassing...clean house...can't take watching us get dominated on the national stage anymore...it's just depressing
  21. Why not?! Seems like we give him more and more money every year...base pay and dont worry about incentive pay
