  1. draw me a line between having literally no relationship with the head coach to having a relationship to micro managed. You guys are going from one extreme to another.IMO imo I think that line likes to move a lot.. never stationary.
  2. This was mentioned on the radio yesterday. During halftime of a game against Mizzou (not sure which one it was), Osborne was in the locker room and suggested that Watson run a certain pass play. Supposedly, Watson didn't know how to handle that, and Bo was pretty pissed about it. I think this oversteps Osborne's "job responsibilities", and is a bit of micro-managing. Had this been just any AD I would be with you, but this was an AD with three NC rings. TO has never stepped completely away from college football and maybe, just maybe his idea might have worked. That said, megalomaniacs think they got it all wired which is why they were one game over 500 when the opponent had over a 600% winning record.
  3. The best Pizza place is Flippi's Pizza Grotto, there is one on Friar's road about 2 miles east of stadium. for a lunch idea try L&L Hawaiian BBQ, there are a few around town, one off Regents Rd in La Jolla is pretty good, parking can be a challenge as the lot is pretty small, probable 10-15 miles from Stadium, the other I know about is in National City on Sweetwater Road right off 805, CVS shopping center. I really miss that place... Both Restaurants are reasonably priced. Only disclaimer, I have not been to San Diego in about 17 months but I believe both are still there.
  4. now you're just being mean!!! LOL
  5. Runza's okay but compared to In-N-Out it's a dump. I moved to East TN a few years ago, really miss in-and-out Burgers!!!
  6. QB coach in the NFL kind of makes the bitching (like yours) seem silly yes? Didn't Callahan have a "NFL" QB coach too?? Yeah Jay Norvell, great coach actually Last I heard Jay was in OU, do you know if that is still the case?

  8. Getting fired with a .700+ win percentage has got to be tough to swallow and everyone knows Bo is a very emotional man. That said, he really needed to give himself some time to get over the emotion of being canned. I am sure it hurt an lot! nothing good ever comes from running you mouth when your really emotional (pissed)! Hopefully Bo will learn..
  9. Callahan was the worst, that said, he was far better at the recruiting game than Pelini. What we need is a mix, great recruiter and smart coach.
  10. Hopefully he returns well soon. he should flourish in Riley's offense next year.
  11. If Riley is going to be the OC too then that leaves 4 paid assistant coach positions open. I really hope he takes our current DL, Secondary and running backs (Brown) coaches (sorry I suck with names). don't know/think that will happen but hears to hoping..
  12. Best to you Coach Barney in whatever endeavor you choose next!
  13. Riley's recruiting seems to be pretty good. he has gotten players who bolted to change and come back. I'm not a fan of a coach whose like time record is around .500 but I can say that I am coming around on the idea he is a better/more open recruiter. As far as how good of a coach he really is, time will tell. Riley has TONS more resources here in NE than Corvallis so .500 here should get him fired after three seasons at most. don't think any of us want to experience 2004 and 2007 again.
  14. 5 people isn't a.merger. Umm... a head coach, 4 of his assistants, the director of football operations and the director of player personnel certainly approaches merger territory. So 6(not counting HC) of like 16(maybe more) total positions in the football area are a merger. Child.... Please. Are we not only allowed 9 position coaches (including HC)? the others are graduate assistants. so.. 5 of the 9 slots are filled with OSU coaches.. doubt there will be much of a merger tho.. seems like none of the current staff will be retained.
  15. And yet everyone, except some Husker fans, are praising this hire. ever wonder if those praising NU's hire like to see NU fail? there are lots of talking heads who trash NU praising this hire.. seems like it should allow them to trash us some more.
  16. Bringing in a so-so coach to an elite program doesn't make sense. I hope I am wrong about him, be happy to say I was wrong. I have not seen a lifetime coach with a so-so record come into a major program and be much more than so-so. The program and big 10 needed a major hire.. sadly (again I hope I am wrong) this guy isn't it..
  17. I mean if you guys want a repeat of the Callahan Era, no one is going to stop you. Callahan era all over again... my worst nightmare...
  18. I would add Brown. He's a good coach who could help maintain some NU history on this staff.
  19. Looks like a troll, smells like a troll... If you haven't been paying attention. Oregon St. <= Iowa St. glad to see you think Iowa St is a great program.. we should have hired a coach that has a winning record (shows he can build teams) that didn't happen here.. kinda funny really, we already have apologist for the new coach...
  20. can't speak for anyone else, I will not stand for losing seasons!
  21. Have you looked at Oregon State's history? I am taking by your post that you have not as it is entirely not based on facts. the mediocrity you speak about happens to be the best stretch that Oregon State has had in football in 3 decades. Oregon State did not have a winning record between 1971-1999. During those 3 decades their best record was 4-6-1 in 1988 and finished under 4 wins in 22 of those seasons. To call his years mediocre is flat our wrong. What he has accomplished at Oregon State is impressive. Were not Oregon State. he stunk it up in the NFL too. I watched those teams he coached.. Guess this what we get when Brett turned us down..
  22. Think we got jobbed with this hire.. going from a 9-3 HC to a 5-7 one (good Job Steve... I mean Shawn!). Number of 20+ losses this season from Riley 4! Bo had 2! winning seasons last 5 years 2. 2014 5-7 2013 7-6 2012 9-4 2011 3-9 2010 5-7 NOT a lot to cheer about here!!
  23. Cannot imagine us taking an unproven head coach... kinda like Palini all over again. Still get that cold lump in stomach that we have another Steve Ped... on our hands.... (sorry just cannot say/type that mans last name).
