  1. I certainly get where you're coming from. These guys, especially on offense are in for a big time culture shift. Per the OWH, Diaco really ran guys through the ringer on defense when he rolled through so if nothing else, they've been through a grueling camp.
  2. Yeah...I'm not really interested in having a hypothetical discussion about a guy that isn't even playing for Nebraska. Deuces.
  3. I echo the other posters in the thread. I've done HR/recruiting for several years and less is definitely more when it comes to putting in your notice. Keep it short and professional, thank her and the company for the opportunity, give 2 weeks notice and explain you've landed a new opportunity that you couldn't pass up. If your boss presses you for why you're leaving just reiterate that your new opportunity is one you couldn't pass up. You don't owe your supervisor anything in terms of an explanation and frankly, you don't need to mess with an exit interview either unless you want to. Your last couple weeks on the job might stink a little more given that you'll probably get micromanaged to a higher degree but just keep your head down and make a calendar counting down the days until you start your next role.
  4. *shrugs* I'm just going off what he's done on the college level thus far. If you want to go down the hypothetical rabbit hole and dream up gadget plays for him as a slot receiver when he hasn't transferred yet to Nebraska nor been asked to switch positions then knock yourself out.
  5. I don't hate the thought of bringing in Vedral. If Gebbia doesn't pan out for whatever reason or Martinez turns out to be really good there is a chance that Gebbia transfers (I agree with Scotty that Lee and POB probably transfer). I think the QB position is going to be in serious flux for the next couple years as Frost brings his guys in. If Vedral wants to come back home, sounds good to me.
  6. Usual stuff I'm guessing. Good relationship with coaching staff, Ruhle is a good coach (0-12 season included), good young talent on the roster, lots of PT, plus it's 90 minutes from home.
  7. Man, Nebraska is gonna have more height on the football team than the basketball team here pretty soon. Hard not to visualize some type of 'giant' package in the red zone with McGriff, Rafdal, this guy and others and running route concepts similar to what Seattle does for Jimmy Graham.
  8. Good points here. With Mapieu being an in state kid, you gotta pull the trigger and hope he gets his classwork in order. No way you can risk slow playing him and having him turning out to be a stud at Iowa or some other school. I'll never understand why they didn't pursue Williams as well for nothing else but additional D-Line depth. You can never, ever, ever have enough quality D-Lineman.
  9. I hear what you're saying. Even though Herm has been out of the game for a while, I would imagine he'll do a really nice job of connecting with parents/grandparents/guardians. Let's not forget, the scenery ain't too bad either...

    Alex Grinch

Would be quite the coup if tOSU was able to snag a guy the caliber of Grinch for their 10th assistant coach.
  11. Maybe the Andrew Ward connection is enough to get an OV. This dude is a hoss.
  12. I think you really hit the nail on the head Enhance in regards to the offensive system. I graduated HS in the late 90s and it seemed like half the teams we played against ran some kind of option or veer scheme, my team personally did a mix of wishbone and I formation. If the high schools can somewhat align in terms of running a similar offensive system of what Frost does (which I know is significantly easier said than done) than we might start to see Nebraska have a resurgence in local O-linemen as they've already been coached on some of the concepts.
  13. Tomich maybe isn't the best example to use. He was a walk-on only because he was a Prop 48 which largely killed any recruiting interest he had coming out of HS.
  14. As someone who supports all things Rocky anything that could possibly increase the chance of getting the Rocky theme song (or Rocky training montage music) played at Nebraska games is a-ok with me.
  15. Your point is well taken StP. It looks like OSU took 5 WRs last year so it might not be as high of a need in years past. OSU has 13 WRs on their roster right now with only one of those being a Sr. They might have a couple guys go pro early (Hill is a RSSo and Campbell is a Jr) but no one on their roster really had huge receiving years so those guys are probably coming back. I'm a little hard pressed to see how Brown sees the field for the first couple years whereas at Nebraska there is a decent chance he gets some run as a true Fr. In retrospect using the term 'throwaway' was too harsh.
  16. I fully support any and all efforts to flip recruits from Louisville.
  17. The fact that Brown is essentially a throw away prospect for them speaks to how absolutely flipping loaded OSU's class is this year. I get that having Babb there will help but dang you can't tell me that Brown hasn't watched some of the UCF games from this year and thought, "Man, that looks like a ton of fun".
  18. Yes. This. I know you're excited but your running around like a kid all hopped up on chocolate milk and Sugar Babies because he cleaned his room. Just ease back a little bit. I mean...what do you expect @ATS Knight to say in this situation? I haven't read through the whole thread but to my knowledge UCF hasn't ever had a coach leave of his own volition. They've always gotten wacked or resigned.
  19. That's a fair take. I watch an ungodly amount of Pac 12 football and UW's offense has taken a quantum leap forward since he took over at OC 3 years ago. I do think regional bias kicks in some as UW is rarely on TV outside of late night slots for the majority of the country. Plus he might've told his agent from the get go that he only wanted to look at schools on the West Coast so that would knock him out of the majority of the openings this year. Let's be honest, he was never going to be in consideration for the UCLA job and the AD at ASU seems like he was all in on Herm.
  20. Live look at the athletic department:
  21. I think the grade on Oregon State is pretty off base. Smith is essentially the Scott Frost of Oregon State. He was a superstar QB and was the straw that stirred the drink on the Erickson OSU teams. Dude just spent the last 3 years as the OC/QB coach under Chris Petersen @ UW. Hard to see how it isn't an 'A'. Taggart is probably a tick low. While he might be a little limited as a coach his teams are going to be absolutely loaded with talent every year. Herm to ASU is an F. I pretty much agree with everything else you listed. The Cristobal hire is a real head scratcher but I guess the players really pushed for him so I guess we'll see. Lots of talent on that roster especially if they can hang onto the 'croots. Have to think Leavitt is gone which is a definite hit.
  22. Obviously you've never ridden in a Winnebago.
  23. Haha everybody knows that! I laughed way harder than I should have at your comment.
