  1. Why not just pull a Northwestern and raze it all? I mean, no love for that stadium, but it does hurt to see a historical stadium completely demolished, except for an entrance.
  2. At some point reality will start to set in for some of these players. That a role player situation at Nebraska, is better than starting in lower conference.
  3. Does this guy inject caffeine into his blood stream every day? How in the heck does it seem like he is everywhere?
  4. Who says a MAC team can pay anything on NIL? There are rumblings that Power 5 teams can barely pay anything to the starters. UCLA for example. Has maybe 1 million/year to pay out to ALL student athletes. To me that is what is so goofy about the money argument. Nebraska, by all accounts is in the top 10 in NIL money in the country. To me the only reason players will leave this situation is if they don't care about money, or they don't like the situation here. (Which I think is nuts, but to each their own)
  5. This doesn't happen until under 2 minutes now. That rule changed several years ago.
  6. I'm not sure what the current scholarship counts are, or what the even looks like in this day and age, but if taken at face value. We NEED to lose quite a few.
  7. HAHA. These are pretty great. These should be consumed with tongue firmly planted in cheek. Otherwise your brain will break.
  8. The bolded is why they were successful this year. Women's sports in recent years has improved quite a bit to actually be somewhat entertaining. Previous to that, it was not watchable. That to me is a reason for the success. Then you throw in a few superstars that are intriguing. (name me an intriguing women's basketball superstar from the early 2010s?) Boom, here you go. In other words. It's a bit of both of what you guys are saying. And to EC's point, what happens next year. Does Juju take the mantle from Clark? The fact that I even know who Juju is, is a testament. (assuming that is her name. The superstar freshman from SoCal)
  9. I mean, come on. Jeremiah Charles sure can.
  10. I know the Huskers don't have a chance here, but some team is going to get a hell of a player.
  11. Only two of those players were contributing to the success this season and honestly Wilcher was more or less a senior. so not a huge deal on that front. Depth wise though it sucks.

    Chasing 3

I would assume they have the single digits until this fall, when there is a revote.
  13. This is what a lot of people have had an issue with, myself included. It's possible to do a pretty nice upgrade without spending a HALF A BILLION dollars. What is it with that price tag?
  14. Which, to be honest, is probably a good thing. That expansion project was way to much all at once. As the Husker Online guys said in their last podcast. Just do South Stadium alone for now and leave all of the other stuff for a later date. Take the 450 million project and maybe cut it to 250 million.
  15. That's an impressive 45 yard "flip" of the ball. I would throw my shoulder out trying to throw that far.
  16. Nice, Was there always a door there and they just connected the building, or did they add it in? Just looking at the picture it doesn't look like it is a "new" addition.
  17. Agreed, this makes even less sense now. So we are down to more conjecture. He left because he dreamt a bit to big on the stadium remodel and was getting spanked in the fund raising efforts and bailed in order to save face. He left because of the lawsuit, but that seems unlikely given what others have already said. He really just left to pad his resume for future Commissioner roles. (seems most likely with a sprinkling of nbr 1)
  18. So with how fast this all went down. This lends more credence to the fact that Trev knew who was coming on board as president, and didn't like the fit and bailed. The BoR, didn't just wake up last week and go "Oh crap Trev left we better find someone..."
  19. So would the Big10 be the AFC, or the NFC, and Nebraska is in the Central division? ;-) I mean this is where this is going right?
  20. So, why again is that a problem? Maybe the BoR and the new president didn't want to spend a half a billion dollars on a stadium project. They could build a new one for close to that. Not NFL quality but pretty damn nice. Trev might want it to happen, but he wasn't budging at all on the scope of the stadium project. Which leads us to where we are now. The BoR changed the structure, because Carter left for a top 3 presidents job in the country. Otherwise Trev would not have had anyone to report to. And as has been stated the 200 + days to find a new president and chancellor is not far off from the "norm"
  21. It doesn't matter who they report to. Greene retired after a very long run Carter left for a top gig in the entire country Alberts left for a top gig in the entire country (that throws around money like a drunken sailor) They left for other reasons other than what some keep implying. UNL is not a top gig in the country. it can be top 10, but it is not top 3 or even top 5
  22. It sounds like that the Interim President might be getting the Interim tag removed. And he doesn't agree with the half a billion dollar stadium renovation. (which is a bit excessive as most have stated.) Trev got pissed and took his ball and ran to a place where they throw money around like a drunken millionaire at a strip joint.
  23. The Interim president will be making the hiring. We have a president, just not an official one.
  24. It really is beginning to look that way. Again, maybe in a few years we can look back and see that he was Nostradamus, but at least stick around and work with the new guy before bailing on your Alma Mater
  25. And to me that is pretty petty. The employee doesn't get to hire their boss. Could you imagine the problems that would create! Not to say they don't have input, but it's not their decision to make.
