  1. Except it's week three of Year 3. The fans were told "oh, just wait to see what happens when we have a system guy for our system." Well there is a system guy in there and to put it bluntly: S***'s Broken. It's not a rash judgement. It's a constant watching of the program's decline while glaring issues continually get overlooked. It's 50 passes a game when preaching balance. It's YOLO bombs for everyone. It's DBs playing 10 yards off the man when teams are bubble screening and smoke routing the defense to death. It's not making adjustments until halftime. It's watching constant special teams gaffes. S***'s Broken.
  2. Eichorst should be worried. He married himself to Riley and the Riley experiment is quickly turning into the Riley fiasco.
  3. I like the idea of multiple formations, while I also like the idea of being versatile. However, the multiple formations with 9TE (7 of which can't run or catch) in this "offense" drives me up a wall. I think it's because there's not versatility. Defenses adjust to the TEs because they're running short drags underneath the sticks. Bubble screens are sticking out, because this offense takes so long to develop. Defensese also know only one person has a chance to run this football right now because Lee isn't a mobile quarterback. However this scheme isn't designed for a mobile quarterback, it's designed for a PRO quarterback with PRO talent around them. The similarities to Callahan's crappy offense are frightening.
  4. Langs as head coach? YOLO BOMBS for everyone!
  5. Hey, how about Rod Carey? NIU's head coach has a 4-1 record against the B1G. Better winning percentage than the current staff.
  6. It's not so much learned as what is confirmed. Langsdorf, no matter what might be working, will always try to defer to the pass. Because chicks dig the long ball. The depth at RB is atrocious. No one on the coaching staff can read, or do simple math. I think they might have thought Nebraska was ahead late. This offensive system is flat out offensive because even with the "system" guy in, it's still a dumpster fire. Mike Riley is the nice Bill Callahan.
  7. The NIU coach has a better record against the Big 10 than Riley does. HIRE ROD CAREY!
  8. It's not even about the system guy now. The system is broken with Langsdork and Riley thinking they can sling the ball around the field like it's arena football.
  9. WTAF? Does this staff understand there are 2 minutes and change left? No urgency.
  10. See, that's how you run RPO. Oh wait, that requires a somewhat mobile quarterback.
  11. So I have playbooks from NFL Challenge 1988. Both defense and offense. Should I send them to the football offices?
  12. I missed the first half and just got the game on. Is Lee not even checking for other receivers, just staying locked on the primary?
  13. I expected a defense to not give up 1,063 yards in two games. I expected the Riley's system to look better with a "Riley" guy under center with a few hiccups now and then, but the offense keeps having flashbacks to Callahan's offense with shifts and movements then a throw underneath for 3 yards. There are some good things with the offense, yes, but when it goes bad, it goes south in a hurry. I expected more attention to details, like in an obvious passing situation to not run play action, to understand the clock was an enemy and not run it down when trailing by 14, to have a sense of urgency when trailing and to come ready to play. I expected the team to not hang its hat on moral victories. Now I'm not so sure what to expect going forward. I do hope the team grows and I do hope the Huskers win every game.
  14. I don't think the defense changed too much at all. If it would have, the D would have generated pressure numbers, but instead came away with ZERO sacks and 3 TFL and I'm not even sure if they registered any hurries.
  15. 1. This scheme is not working. At all. They are not flying to the ball, they are not even looking for the ball. 84 tackles, ZERO sacks and only 3 TFL. There is no pressure being generated up front. 2. Diaco will not make a first half adjustment and will stick in his "vanilla" defense even if a LB continues to be matched up with a slot receiver who continuously blows past the defender. 3. Too much thinking. Not enough going to make a football play. 4. Langsdorf is in love with play action even when the defense knows the pass is coming, i.e. late in the game down by 7 clock running. He wants to sling it all around the yard. 5. Too many times this offense resembles Bill Callahan's disaster. 6. Lee can have nice touch but the lack of mobility when things break down is frightening. 7. The team has some heart, but it's hard to measure when Oregon went into cruise control. I think Oregon could have hung 70 on this D if the Ducks wanted to. Only throwing 8 times in the second half might be testament to the cruise control. 8. I fear the coaching staff tries to measure moral victories and is snakebitten.
  16. I'm not sure this is a rebuild. I fear this is a place-holding.
  17. I'll be really intrigued to read what the coaching staff says tomorrow.
  18. WOW! Oregon runs the Shawn Watson trick play for a loss. WHEW!
