  1. Did you not listen to the part where he blatantly professed that he feels that John P. could not develop him into a NFL type player. Three things I want to point out that you did not address. 1. John P. epitomizes work ethic, and clearly has a prowess that his players should envy. 2. It was more important for him to go to the NFL than to make the team better. 3. Not trashing NU? Are you kidding me, "bigger schools" lol Contrary to what some people think we are NEBRASKA, we have 5 national championships, a plethora of all-Americans. The two highest paid defensive players in the NFL. Players that play for their team and not themselves usually end up in favorable positions. I am sick of people down playing who Nebraska is. we are not Kentucky, shoot we're not even Michigan. Any player who is out there for themselves has no business on any team. Those are the type of players who don't win championships. I would wish KW luck but I know based on his work ethic, and his self righteous attitude that he will continue to have the same level of success that he has had at NU. My highlighted words he literally said in more or less words. He never said that about Parrella, you're reading into things way too much. If he dreams of playing in the NFL who are you to mock him for such a stance if it conflicts with your own beliefs? He's doing what he feels is right for him. Williams didn't make a huge impact on the team, the only real way this hurts us is in the depth chart, although I think he would've started I don't think his play would've been head and shoulders above Davis. Take a deep breath and calm down. You're taking what he's saying way too seriously. To quote AA after the McNeese State game, 'Nothing's ever as bad or as good as it seems to be.' That would seem to be the case here. And he more or less said Parrella (and the coaching staff) could not develop him into an NFL player. No one's reading into it too much, that's what he was saying. However, no one on this board, so far, is insinuating his comments are true. Just one of the last Bolievers left on the team, mad at the system because he thinks he is the next Suh but in reality is not good enough to be a starter at Nebraska. Wish him the best at Kentucky. Buh-bye.
  2. Answered the question Why'd you leave?' by saying it definitely not the depth chart, because he clearly would have been a starter. Said he is 100% leaving because of the SEC. He believes he can get developed and marketed to the NFL at an SEC school rather than Nebraska. "Have you gotten any other offers from SEC schools besides A&M and Kentucky?" - Oh yeah, ohhhhhhh yeah. Completely ragged on the coaching staff. Basically said the staff completely mismanaged the talent we had on the DLine last year, Riley's laid back style of coaching was VERY different, and Parrella wouldn't be much better.
  3. I feel good about this one. We were the first school to offer his brother just a couple months ago, and a bunch of other schools followed suit quickly. Hard not to attribute the other offers he got to the first Nebraska offer. Roberts has always been high on us and State, but I think the offer to his brother won this for us.
  4. This guy was born after the turn of the century and already has 27 D1 offers.
  5. Good article by Sipple. My opinion is to clean house ASAP and get some competent leadership in place at every level. Easier said than done, but it can be done.
  6. would you walk away from that kind of money? Absolutely not. But I am not a nice guy Even if I was a nice guy I wouldn't walk away from the money so I don't expect him to do so. There is also more at stake than just money.
  7. Maybe because he watched the game?... I watched from beginning to end. And the crowd at the bar I was at share the same opinion as I.
  8. would you walk away from that kind of money? Absolutely not. But I am not a nice guy
  9. Stop making excuses. How can you compliment the team after we got BLOWN OUT by Purdue. How can you POSSIBLY compliment Fyfe after he single handedly lost us that game. You types of people are the reason we are in this mess because you SUPPORT this dumpster fire of a coaching staff. Personally, I'll take sksfan point of view and his 6,423 Huskerboard posts and his 10 years on this board over your view sir. Ya, Husker Nation is in a tough spot at this point ... but I've hung with skrsfan for 10 years now and joined the group after many posts from other Husker fans like him. Oh, and by the way, he wasn't "complimenting" the team ... he was giving an honest assessment of the current status of the team and the day. I thought it was a pretty fair description. Have a good day. Because he has more posts means his opinion means more than mine does. Tells me all I need to know about about this board.
  10. If Riley was as nice of a guy as everyone says he is, he would resign.
  11. So Gangwish is a nice guy. That's great and all, but just like Riley, it clearly doesn't translate to wins.

  13. I would absolutely join this. The time is now. We have regressed too far. Losses to PURDUE, ILLINOIS, and NORTHWESTERN in the same month? We might be the worst team in college football. Riley has failed. Eichorst has failed. Fans are being lost weekly. #FireRiley
  14. "When routes develop, we pick up man-to-man" that seems like an awfully grey area to me. Maybe that's why for short-mid distance throws we are still playing soft coverage because the "route hadn't developed yet". We've started to cover the long ball better, but those short-medium distance throws are where we still look lost.
  15. I mean, that's just not true. He's not getting double teamed every play. Sure sometimes it happens, but usually it's just one-on-one. It looks like he wins the majority of those matchups, but he'll usually win after the ball is out of the QB's hands already so it doesn't matter much.
  16. Offense: -Tommy has become a better passer already. Still saw some throws off the back foot, definitely some misreads, but no INTs and some solid short/mid game passes. And 2 key blocks in 2 games so far. -Newby ran hard. He needs to keep moving when he makes cuts rather than stop. Keep the legs churning. -Receivers may be the most consistent unit on the team. No real "big play" threat, but a bunch of guys who have good hands. Would love to see some YAC stats between this year so far and last year. -O Line was...better. I didn't notice a false start from Lewis..first time ever? -Tight ends were non existent. Defense: -Davie sucks. -MRI is a BEAST. Cannot wait until he, bando, and young play together. -First half we had NO pass rush. That improved in the second half. Freedom had a REALLY good game. Collins and Valentine might be the biggest disappointment for me thus far just because of how hyped they were. Though, can't scoff at holding SA to 19 rushing yards. -Gerry with 2 INTs in 2 games. Some big tackles. This dude's a certified stud. -Davie sucks please bench. Special Teams: -Brown 2/2 FG. I still don't think he's good. -Kick return coverage was sub par. Overall - not impressed with Bruce Read coaching special teams. -Tyson serviceable as Foltz replacement so far. He's sure not Foltz but he's sure not SA's punter.
  17. I make about $20k in 5-6 months of work. So I looked at it as... would I rather take 5-6 months off work as paid vacation, or work those months and see Nebraska win a championship this year? Oddly enough I picked the championship...
  18. Final: 7-5 BYU - L South Alabama - W @Miami - L Southern Miss - W @Illinois - W Wisconsin - L @Minnesota - L Northwestern - W @Purdue - W Mich St - L @Rutgers - W Iowa - W Wow, I am apparently one of the more bearish people here..ya'll are really drinking the koolaid. I feel like I should justify my prediction (although I hope I am completely wrong and we go 12-0 and win the national championship). I think we'll get off to a slow start both offensively and defensively this year as the players adjust to the new schemes. As others have said, I think we'll be susceptible to the deep pass more than the run game this year. As BYU and Miami are both decent passing teams, I think we'll struggle out the gate and go 2-2 with easy wins against Southern Alabama & Miss. I don't think those two games will be close. @ Illinois should be another auto win, but I don't think we will get past Wisconsin. They simply have more playmakers than we do right now. Hoping that will change after Riley and co. recruit some better players who fit in their system. Follow that with a loss to a quality Minnesota team, and the anti-Riley folks will be voicing their opinions loudly. 3-4 to start the season. We'll recover a bit with two wins against Northwestern and @Purdue. Our offense will finally look settled in to the new system and the defense will dominate, holding both teams to under 3 touchdowns combined. Michigan St at home will be closer than most pundits think, with our offense making some good plays against a quality Sparty defense and our D line rattling Connor Cook with a pair of early sacks. Mich St wins by 3. We go 5-5. I think we end the season with blowout wins against Rutgers and that other team, finishing the regular season 7-5. Will probably face Georgia again in a bowl and beat them fairly handily. 8-5. Jury's out as to how we should grade Riley and co. first season in Lincoln. No quality wins again and a downgrade from Pelini's 9 win seasons, but improvement in the second half of the season leads all of us to continue to have hope in our Huskers for next season.
  19. I'm pretty sure that's who they were referring to when they said we had a "great punter." I'm pretty sure that's who they were referring to when they said "Nebraska's Sam Foltz averaged 42.2 yards a punt and saw more than 40 percent of his punts land inside the 20."
  20. But Adidas uniforms are just so good....................
  21. That's actually an exceptionally easy schedule for Michigan, especially in conference. Their two toughest games (Mich St and Ohio St) are at home. 3/4 OOC games are at home. @ Utah and @ Penn St will be tough as well, but I could see them with a 8-4 record without them upsetting one of the previously mentioned teams. Harbaugh or no Harbaugh, I see no better than 4-4 in conference. I'd bank on losses to MSU, Minny, PSU, OSU. And last year they lost to Rutgers and MD. And beat NW 10-9. I can't see them winning at Utah. If people think that BYU will cause us problems, then Michigan is in trouble. And Rudock isn't the answer at QB. Thing is, this isn't last year. They still have plenty of talent on their team, and Harbaugh knows how to coach talent. I agree they will probably lose to MSU PSU and OSU, but MSU lost Narduzzi and PSU franklin, sorry frankly, isn't a proven commodity yet either. Both of those games are at home. Minny lost their best offensive player. It feels very strange talking Michigan up as I hate Michigan, but they deserve a lot more credit than you are giving them IMO.

  23. Picked up 7 crystal ball predictions in the last 3 days, fwiw.
  24. Just Stoll and Domann would put us at 169.54 which would be good for about 20th in current standings If we are in the top 20 in the standings at NSD, count me as thoroughly impressed by the effort and execution of the new staff in regards to recruiting. Pulling that off in their first season would be very impressive. To me, it would show that a coach with a wealth of experience actually develops a plan to expand our exposure in an efficient way while setting up a strong base for the future. To me, this is the area where the previous staff was lacking, although I didn't really recognize it until I saw how this new staff goes about the process.
