  1. Oh I agree. But that doesn't mean he didn't have a list with six names on it (constantly).
  2. I wonder who the other 4 were (and how they are doing these days): https://hailvarsity.com/football/frost-one-of-six-names-on-moos-list-for-nebraska-coaching-job/
  3. This is simultaneously a Good Take & an Extremely Depressing Thought.
  4. Here is part of the equation that no one is considering: At Nebraska, the AD is judged by the quality of the football head coach that he brings in. Pederson and Eichorst were both let go for "a lack of success" (clearly talking football program). They were both hung by their choices of Football Head Coach. At Nebraska, the AD's length of term is inextricably tied to the success of the Nebraska football head coach. Given that indisputable fact, why would a new AD want to come in and make a change immediately? Because the boosters want him to? Face it, Trev Alberts isn't just new to a job at this level, he's still getting the "lay of the land". Other than the power of being able to write a big check, does anyone really think he's ready to choose the coach that HIS legacy as AD will be judged by? No. He wants to put that day off as long as humanly possible. Every year he can justify putting it off, is another years salary in the bank. And, frankly, hopefully his list of possible candidates and backdoor communication channels can be established - putting him in a position to avoid the mistake that Pederson made - letting a coach go without having a solid plan for getting a QUALITY replacement. Similarly, a head coach is defined by his choice of QB. Frost has been loyal to only ONE (perhaps to a fault). I have the feeling that Adrian will be encouraged NOT to come back for another year, just because the fan base needs to see somebody new (just like we need to see changes at Assistant Coach). EDIT: Hilarious. I'm not a big Twitter guy but I go there just now and find this.
  5. Looking on the bright side, at least we don't pay this staff very much, in comparison to other schools.
  6. Jay Norvell https://nevadasportsnet.com/news/reporters/mountain-west-coaches-rave-about-the-turnaround-jay-norvell-has-done-at-nevada He's currently making $625,000/yr
  7. This one is Serious as a Heart Attack.
  8. This is already about double the total game points I was expecting.
  9. Why are we letting them hear themselves THINK when they have the ball?
  10. Regarding the 5 in the backfield penalty... radio guys said that Corcoran wasn't up on the line of scrimmage enough (the 5th guy). But normally refs warn the coach and line before throwing that flag.
  11. The negative Nellies in here are nauseating.
  12. I'd prefer they run the option in the other end of the field.
  13. Since Iowa is on our schedule and Penn State isn’t, I gotta root for Iowa (which is ODD). We need to beat them regardless the outcome of their game with Penn State.
  14. I realize that Michigan 2021 is not Northwestern 2021 but I believe that Nebraska has much more than a “puncher’s chance” tonight. I also think that all of the different looks the offensive playcallers showed last week HAS to have given the Michigan defensive coordinator nightmares. We are no longer a “stop AM and you stop Nebraska’s offense”. He was only the 4th leading rusher for Nebraska last week. We are deep at WR and we are healthy. AM knows how to use all of his toys on offense, spreading it around to something like 12 receivers last week. I think we win by holding Michigan to FGs while we score TDs. I’m calling it Nebraska 24 Michigan 16

  16. The hard part will be forcing the opposing team to put their fingers in their ears and yell "LA-LA-LAH" while our players are being motivated by it.
  17. Forgive me, but it is Wednesday and I am STILL basking in the glow of the Huskers performance in all three phases of the game (and, most significantly, our reshuffled OL performance and balls-to-the-wall playcalling). I'm enjoying reading the "takes" from the Northwestern journalists at The Daily Northwestern. Here are three: Patrick Andres, Senior Staffer https://dailynorthwestern.com/2021/10/03/lateststories/northwestern-defense-looking-for-answers-after-nebraska-runs-for-434-yards-and-seven-touchdowns/ Drew Schott, Gameday Editor https://dailynorthwestern.com/2021/10/03/lateststories/slow-start-nebraskas-35-point-first-half-leads-to-northwesterns-second-conference-loss/ Lawrence Price, Assistant Sports Editor https://dailynorthwestern.com/2021/10/03/lateststories/football-northwestern-falls-56-7-to-nebraska-on-the-road/ Was that game a corner-turner for the Frost program? Certainly we all saw how lethal this offense CAN be (and what we expected him to bring when he was hired from UCF). I think we now need to ask ourselves if we want to interrupt measurable progress (without the special teams gaffs, we could be looking at a 5-0 Michigan coming to a 6-0 Nebraska in Lincoln this weekend) and start from scratch with an unknown staff. This staff has clearly recruited pretty well, considering our standing in the country... robbing talent from Georgia and Florida (for example). We see Nebraska is a place where players get a chance to walk-on and where homegrown talent wants to play again. The Michigan game is another one of those "measuring stick" games, but THIS IS one where I think the players are sick & tired of coming out on the SHORT end of that stick. This will be MUST SEE action and I think the State of Nebraska is on the collective edge of their seats to see if the Cornhuskers can harvest the results of a whole lot of blood, sweat, and tears over the past several years. I also feel like Frost is close to getting his MoJo back (hopefully not in an Urban Meyer sort of way). I believe we've got the horses and the scheme, boys. Can we execute and focus two weeks in a row? They eyes of the State are upon them.
