  1. Riley's players won't play for Frost
  2. Elevating recruiting back to consistent top 5-15 classes is key.
  3. It's a crisis for sure. Frost can't perform miracles, but the fact he is flawed, is unsettling
  4. Low point of the Frost era for sure. Even with the 0-6 start, it was year one and things improved from there. This year feels like stagnation with Riley's upper classmen stinking up the joint
  5. Dr Tom took over a program in much better shape and had his 10-2 Tom phase in the 80's before the 90's peak....oh how we weep for those days.
  6. I don't disagree, we are paying Frost 5 million a year, but learning curves. Frost just ain't the rip his shirt off his back and cuss/swear saying he don't give a s#!t about ice cream or your girlfriends and you better think about only school/football only or he will drive your soul down into hell. Urban Meyer called Tuesday "bloody tuesday" for a reason.
  7. Frost is struggling in his transfer from AAC to big time college football. I don't think he was quite ready mentally what it takes and the huge needs of the program when he was hired. One good year in a situation where turnarounds are easy, is not building a program like Nebraska needed. He is learning on the fly.
  8. Scott needs to build his own program. Prove himself then we can talk.
  9. People praised Bill and Bo as well. It as a crummy hire.
  10. Riley is pissed Phil Knight is basically Oregon's Koch brothers and that is why he couldn't recruit at OSU.......................right right right. I think he was sitting on his laurels degenerating the Oregon State football team while Nebraska comes calling with a fat contract. Nice cushy job for a couple more years.
  11. Mike Riley is a amazing losing coach. Guy's career college record is awful.
  12. Guy sucked in his stint at OSU in the 90's.
  13. Bleakness for Nebraska football never ends. He will be gone in 2-3 years.
  14. I would be careful with Jim Tressel for several reasons but also probably give the go ahead if they still feel he has it: 1.His first season at Ohio State was extremely poor for the talent they had. It was before he began with the boosters "slush fund" gift system for "acheiving" players. This is how he got S Mike Doss to come back for his Senior year and what Tressel promised for better efforts which clearly started translating next season. This "gift" system he eventually got caught lying about, was only the tip of the iceberg. It was as bad as USC or any SEC team. Ohio State got off light in comparison. I am not sure how that will go over in Nebraska. Tom Osbourne(especially with Steroids) and Bobby Bowden were accused of this as well and got little damage to their reputation. 2.He is a very average at best X/O's coach 3.He is a decent, but not overly good recruiter(though compared to the rest of the BIG.....). Maybe at Nebraska that doesn't mean as much. OSU, we find the limitations in the 2006-08 bowl seasons. On the plus side, he is highly competitive, loves to win and likes "street fight football". Something Nebraska badly lacked under Pelini(and the Big Ten in general) and why Wisconsin had a tendency to give Tressel tough fights despite the talent gap. To me, Nebraska should weigh the pros/cons of Tressel's age and desire. If they feel he doesn't have the same fire anymore, they should pass. If they feel still has the "tickle", go full steam ahead. I don't see Tressel having the "off field" pull in Nebraska he did in Ohio so the program can stay clean. He may be a solid 9-3 coach with a year or two of something more before he calls it quits.
