  1. 109 yard drive accounting for the 10 yard holding penalty.
  2. Don't believe Richardson is in the NFL anymore
  3. Kalu seems to be running around like a chicken with his head cut off 2/3rds of the time.
  4. Exactly, due to injuries we had 20 walk-ons on the 85 suiting up for the game. Not only that but we suited up 20 something defensive players yesterday. That's scary thin. 20 of the 70 players on the travel roster started their career as walkons. We suited up 26 defensive players.
  5. Correct. We have a skeleton crew at DL and LB. We are just as banged up on D as Minnesota is.
  6. Gerry with a shoutout to the fans https://instagram.com/p/89YnVMvS_g/
  7. I chuckled every time the Gopher fan behind me would yell "TURN AND LOOK FOR THE BALL" at the Gopher DBs. He also called for their DC (Clays???) to be fired about 5 different times.
  8. Husker fans brought it today. I was thinking that there were going to be way less than the past 2 trips up here, but the numbers seemed pretty close to the same IMO. The fans were loud and caused the gopher sounds guys to play some music instead of having "Go Big Red" chants ring through TCF. Glad to see the players acknowledge it.
  9. Anyone know how Fant has looked for South this year?
  10. a) We don't have the OL that Stanford does b) We don't have anyone as dynamic as Christian McCaffrey in our backfield
  11. So I listened to this last night on the elliptical. What saunders says an understatement. Sam seemed to rail for 5-10 minutes about how horrible our defensive scheme is. And he basically called Wisconsin's WR/TE crew the worst in the Power 5 conferences. And yet we continued to allow them to beat us and for Stave to put up 300+.
  12. This is the best sentence in this thread. Nebraska needs both to succeed. Great recruiting and great walk-ons, kinds like we had in the days of yore.
  13. According to Glen Mason (former gopher coach), JJ Watt was all set to go to Minnesota on scholly but then Mason got fired and the new staff (Tim Brewster) never contacted Watt and he ended up at CMU.
  14. 85 scholarship limit started in 1992. Before that it was a 95 scholarship limit.
  15. That is how Ameer is listed in the class of at ESPN: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/school/_/id/158/class/2011 That's nice, but referencing ESPN recruiting rankings gives you little credibility.
  16. Not to bring "he who should not be named" into this debate, but the white pants started last year.
  17. Just because the 2005 class didn't live up to its hype doesn't mean that Nebraska shouldn't try to recruit highly rated players. Do you know who else were 5*'s in that class? Rey Maualuga Mark Sanchez Martellus Bennett Jonathan Stewart DeSean Jackson Darren McFadden
  18. The narrative that Ameer was a 2* has somehow made its way into Husker lore. It's wrong. He had offers from Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, A&M, and USC. And yes, I know Nebraska was the only school that wanted him purely as a RB. Ameer was rated a 5.7 and 3* on Rivals. (For those that don't know, a 5.7 is the highest rated of 3*, a 5.8 is a 4*.) He was the #17 ranked athlete in his class (other athletes of note that year were #1 DeAnthony Thomas, #6 Bubba Starling, #15 Nick Marshall, #25 Tanner McEvoy). He was also the #9 player in the state of Alabama, ahead of #12 Sammie Coates, #14 Jacob Coker (Jonathan Rose was the #5 player in Alabama that year). For a comparison to this year's class, JD Spielman is a 5.7 3* and the #37 ranked athlete.
