No, because if 4 teams of 12 are truly good enough to be included from any league, they should be part of the playoff. I don't need the extra artificial gatekeeping. In a 12-team league I have no problem with P5 champs being included plus the top G5 if it meets a basic Top 15 or 20 threshold. The other 6 spots should be best available.

It would be great if in addition to the standard domestics and imports that local breweries get a shot at a home game on a rotating basis. One week is is predetermined for ZipLine, next is Scratchtown, then Kinkaider or Empyrean....

I'd rather play 8 conference games with no division and with two permanent protected rivals every year. Iowa and another team depending on other protected rivals for Nebraska to go along with 1 ACC and 1 Pac-12 game. Two other games, a G5 and FCS tuneup. Michigan wouldn't be an option as they would have Ohio State and Michigan State as their protected rivals as an example.

Yep, and more likely to attend Nebraska. I may like Mickey Joseph's Louisiana connections but it will still be easier to pull a talented kid from Elkhorn or Westside than Edna Karr or Napoleonville. Deion Jones is a great reminder of what can happen.

Man I hate this "protect the bowls" nonsense. Sure, you want to keep the major bowls for the "Final 4" in a 12-team playoff I can live with that. Most bowls though are made for TV inventory by ESPN. If they can't survive in the market, who cares. In a 12-team playoff, the first two rounds should definitely be at the home stadium of the better seed. Better environment for fans and reward for a better season. I expect the 3rd party business grift bowl coalition to fight that though. Once people see how much better a playoff game is on campus, there will be a push to have more games on campus. ACC and SEC might whine about going up north though. We will see.
