  1. i will jump in here and ask what this thread has to do with recruiting?????
  2. have a great time and enjoy the game wish i could be there
  3. it is not the Bowl selection it is the bowl tie in. the Holiday Bowl places the #2 Pac-10 and the #3 Big 12 team. even though NU won the north, losing to UT caused OSU to be 2nd in the confrence because of the record, and gave them the Big 12 tie-in to the Cotton Bowl. The Holiday Bowl is a good bowl to be in and NU fans should be proud of the teams accomplishment
  4. i dont think that he needs to go to the combine
  5. finally made it back home about 730pm last night
  6. Another update.....I am stuck in New Jersey hell called Newark. Eric, you should be proud HA
  7. And my day keeps getting better. First I head to the airport at midnight Nebraska time, I land at Washington Dulles at 3:30pm. My connecting flight was cancelled and I am now on stand by at 0500. What makes it worse is that the wife was already waiting at the hotel in Omaha and the earliest I will get into Omaha is 3pm bad mojo
  8. Here I am, getting ready to head out of Germany and see my family for the Christmas Holiday and the cable company in my hometown has pissed me off. I have been gone for over a year, and didnt get to see many Husker games on AFN in Iraq, so I had my wife buy all of the pay-per-view games, and record all of the regular broadcast games on the HD DVR that I pay extra each month for. Yesterday my wife couldnt get the TV to turn on, and the cable box was blinking strange letters/numbers on the LED. She called the cable company and when the tech got there she was told that the box was fried, and all of the TV shows, football games, movies that she had recorded were history with no way of recovery
  9. the call at the end of the game was not about big money being lost by the Big 12 if UT didnt go to the NC game. If NU wins the game they go to the Fiesta Bowl and the Big 12 shares $17 million. (2008 payout for BCS game) UT most likely goes to Sugar Bowl and the Big 12 shares another $17 million (2008 payout for BCS game) because of the call to get UT in the NC game the Big 12 will share $19 million instead of $34 million between the 2 games.
  10. a mod from one of the pay services posted that Gabbert has de-committed. said that they were in the process of confirming it with Tyler. i think it has more to do with Tyler and Curtis visiting MU this weekend and the coaches told them that if they insisted on looking around then NU wasnt going to hold their 'ships. I dont like it if they have decided to move on because I feel both could do very well here at NU, but there is still time until signing day, and I will not lose any sleep.
  11. Bob, I am going to talk to the wife and see if I can make it out to the game. Dont think that I will be able to swing it, cause I have already spent a fortune for my ticket back to the states from Germany and the family trip to Disney World. I am sure that everyone will have a great time. You are a class act Bob Rob
  12. well i dont even know what to say, so i guess i will just say, i dont have any idea what to say
  13. Just an quick update. I have finally left 1 sh**ty country (Iraq) for another sh**ty country (Kuwait). unless a bad sand storm moves in should be out of here in the next day or so, then a couple of German beer. My fellow Soldiers and I thank you all for the support that you show us. Hopefully my next message will be from Germany Rob
  14. scout is only showing 2 visitors right now for next week and Tyler is not one of them O.O. (dont ask me to spell the name) **** DE from Portland, OR and Damon Williams * DT from Irving TX
  15. just wanted to let everyone know that i have begun my journey home from Iraq. I should be back in Germany in about a week, and then back in God's Country right before Christmas. My plan was to take the family to whatever Bowl Game the Huskers went to this year, but I decided to take my wife and 6 year old son to Disney World. After I have been away for so long I think my son would enjoy spending a week with Mickey and Minnie more. I was hoping to see a NU/VT rematch in the Orange Bowl but the losses to TT and ISU took care of that. Next stop Kuwait AMMO-7 OUT (Huskerrob's call sign in Iraq)
  16. scout has a story up on Jay Guy committing, but it is also listing Josh Mitchell as a commit. no story up on Josh yet but he is #13
  17. skers-i am not doubting what your wife was told by the mother, but from what was written on scout from interviews of all 4 official visitors, they all said they had a great time and gave high marks, and out of the 4, i bet 3 will end up committing to NU. the only one that i doubt will, was already committed to Vandy. unless the kid was on an unofficial visit, what his mom told your wife and what he told the reporters are 2 totally different things.
  18. I have responded in a couple of threads about this and decided that it needs a thread of its own. In my opinion, in the VT, MU and TT games, the offensive line play has been terrible. Missed blocking assignments, getting beat, stupid penalties, ect ect ect. In each of these games Lee has struggled. All of the problems that the offense has had can be traced right back to poor line play, yesterday's game is a prime example. Matt Barkley, Jimmy Clausen, Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, (insert QB's name here) would struggle if their offensive lines allowed 5 sacks and constant pressure from a rush of 4 lineman. when you can get pressure with 4 players you can drop 7 in coverage. none of the named QB's will have good stats, let alone great stats, when it is 7 covering at most 5 all of the offensive line problems is due to a lack of disciple, and that comes from a lack of leadership on the line (Hickman not taking the lead) and poor coaching. Sure Cotton is a Nebraska guy and all, but i just dont think he has what it takes. what are your thoughts
  19. it doesnt matter which QB starts. as i said in another thread, NU's offensive problems are not because of the QB, the offensive line play against VT, MU, and TT has been awful. when the offensive line play is awful guess what? the QB has struggled.
  20. name 1 QB who gets sacked 5 time and has constant pressure from the defense that rushed 4 people most of the night, that can succeed in finding open receivers and consistanly move the ball. when the qb is under pressure the receivers need to break off their routes and get open to help the qb. the loss yesterday wasnt due to poor QB play, it was due to HORRIBLE offensive line play, and stupid penalties. i like Cotton, but i just dont think that he is the right guy for the job anymore. the penalties that the offensive line is committing is due to a lack of discipline, and that starts with the techniques that the position coach is teaching or failing to teach.
  21. nervous anticipation for this game. no mental breakdowns, no stupid penalties, just a good clean game, and NU should have no problems
  22. 54639 and 35% of the vote Teabag has 15000 votes and 15% of the vote
  23. saying OU is less than steller this year is a little out there i think. OU has lost 2 games this year, however each has been by 1 point. a loss is a loss whether by 1 or by 100, i still think NU better have their "A" game on in order to win
