  1. And that's a wrap, folks. Solid win for the team -- nice to end the season on a positive note heading into next season.
  2. When Tommy's good, he's good. Unfortunately, when he's bad, he's really bad.
  3. Beautiful run, Tommy! And that just may do it.
  4. Damn Neuheisel's kid is a chip off the old block
  5. UCLA's coach has that look on his face like, "Damn, their OC really sucks"
  6. As long as Eichorst is gone. Frost won't work for Eichorst. I think Eichorst will be gone, too. His seat is just as hot as Riley's, imo.
  7. If he does well at UCF, I think it's safe to assume that he'll be our next HC. I don't see Riley lasting more than 2 more seasons here; I just don't. Just my two cents.
  8. Congratulations ladies on an excellent season!
  9. Bottom line is, this staff isn't any better at recruiting than our previous staff was. But yet we didn't want Ed Orgeron...
  10. I have zero doubt that POB will be the starter next year. None. I guarantee Riley told the boosters and AD "Just wait til POB gets here" in order to get the heat off him. POB's play and development is going to make or break Riley.
  11. Until we hire a top-notch coach/recruiter who in turn assembles a top-notch staff, I really don't see us breaking out of the lull we're currently in. Therefore, I predict us to be pretty much in the same situation we're in now, still making excuses, still wondering why other programs are excelling and passing us by.
  12. Point is, Vegas experts don't have much faith in us. Not sure why all the hate on the SEC, considering they've dominated the national championship over the past decade. I guess we'll see what happens when Bama plays the Spartans.
  13. Ohio State Buckeyes +200 LSU Tigers +800 Baylor Bears +900 Alabama Crimson Tide +1000 TCU Horned Frogs +1000 Michigan State Spartans +1000 Texas A&M Aggies +1400 Georgia Bulldogs +2000 Stanford Cardinal +2200 Ole Miss Rebels +2200 Utah Utes +2200 Clemson Tigers +2500 Oklahoma Sooners +2500 Florida State Seminoles +2800 USC Trojans +3300 Notre Dame Fighting Irish +3600 Michigan Wolverines +4000 Oklahoma State Cowboys +5000 Florida Gators +5000 UCLA Bruins +5000 Iowa Hawkeyes +6600 California Golden Bears +10000 Northwestern Wildcats +10000 Boise State Broncos +15000 Missouri Tigers +50000 West Virginia Mountaineers +50000 FWIW, here were the odds to win this year's national championship. Say what you want, but Vegas is pretty good when it comes to this stuff (four of their projected Top 15 made this year's playoff): Ohio State Alabama Florida State TCU Auburn USC Baylor Notre Dame Clemson Oregon Georgia LSU Michigan State Oklahoma Stanford Texas A&M UCLA Arkansas Michigan Ole Miss Tennessee

    POB

POB will be the starter by the end of next season; I have zero doubt. Riley has all of his chips bet on the development and success of POB. If he fails to deliver, Riley is gone.
  15. From what I've read, the problem most people have isn't that he didn't leave a tip, but rather that he expected the server to know who he was, and why should anyone recognize a WR on a 5-7 football team.
  16. I know that many of you aren't fans of Richt. I get that. Earlier this year when people wanted Riley fired, many were throwing out names like Tom Herman because he's the hot young coach. And that's all well and good, but the point I'm trying to make is that every year you have these "hot" names -- Herman, Charlie Strong, etc. -- but also every year there are numerous vacancies, some of which will be more attractive than Nebraska. A top young coach (with the exception of perhaps Frost) is not going to pick Nebraska over Texas or Florida or Georgia or whatever. The chances of us getting the hot name is slim. Let's say we would've fired Riley. Do you really think Herman was going to come here? Heck no. Actually I think he would've chosen to stay at Houston for another year rather than come here. That's why I'm such a fan of Richt. He's a proven winner AND a realistic choice. Throw in all of the other intangibles such as his Nebraska roots and that's why I think he's a perfect choice. Has he underachieved in recent years? Absolutely. But sometimes all it takes is a change in scenery to rejuvenate a coach's career, especially if he feels he has something to prove.
  17. Good for Mizzou. Have some pride for Chrissakes.
  18. Bull. Link please. @ralphDrussoAP: Richt could also sit out a year and see what goes down at Nebraska. My goodness he'd be perfect there. Not to mention we'd get Ekeler back
  19. Anyone who doesn't want Richt here is off his/her rocker. What more could you possibly want in a coach, with the exception of perhaps youth? Even the ESPN and sports media guys are saying he'd be the perfect fit here. I have no doubt that he'll sit out a year and see how things go at Nebraska next year -- Richt could end up being Eichorst's "savior" if things don't go well. At least he'd assemble an elite staff.
  20. LSU AD backed Miles says he is staying. He was informed after the game vs. Texas A&M. Ah, missed that. Thanks The first mistake that the LSU higher-ups (and their overinflated egos) made was that they thought/assumed that Jimbo Fisher would make the jump. Not sure what the "feelers" they sent out were told, but whatever it was, it was incorrect. The second mistake they made was that they let it leak that Miles was being released. The problem therein is that Fisher never had any definite intentions to make the jump, and now Alleva & Co. are stuck with egg on their faces, looking like the jackasses that they are. In other words, Jimbo turned them down, and there apparently was no Plan B. So now, they're left right where they started.
  21. He also won multiple conference championships and BCS bowls, not to mention wins over Meyer, and Saban, and Miles, and... Multiple? Yes, multiple: 2002 and 2005... and many felt that Georgia should've played for the national championship in 2007
