  1. The tackling today is just poor. Playing pin ball defense.
  2. Martinez gives us 30 yards, takes away 20 yards. As is his career at Nebraska.
  3. Martinez style is simple. He’s like a kid playing recess football who wants to play like Mahomes but he isn’t Mahomes.
  4. Oh Martinez. I hope we celebrate senior day next week.
  5. Really? He had the first, we were lucky he didn’t hold onto the ball.
  6. Got very very lucky. He’s talking trash and he didn’t do anything, dude gave up a first down it was Wisconsin player unable to hold on….
  7. Never understood why it seems like our DBs never turn to look when the WR turns his head and you can clearly tell the ball is coming to him.
  8. Does Wisconsin’s PA announcer annoying anyone else?
  9. Since joining the Big Ten Wisconsin has rushed for 12,000 yards against Nebraska.
  10. Oh dear here it is. Wisconsin taking us to the woodshed for the 9th straight year.
  11. Alright 0-0 game and we now have the huge advantage in total yards and time of possession.
  12. He’s short. Hope we can still punch it in. Go under center please.
  13. God our guys looked slow chasing down Wisconsin. After that big pass watch us stall.
  14. I dont know the real number, but just guessing as I know he missed some games in his career due to injury, but Martinez is 12-24(ish)? as a starting QB. That's bad. I might take any Big Ten starting QB over Martinez on my team. As I typed that, I initially typed that as a joke, but now thinking about it, I think there is truth to it. Would he get picked last in the Big Ten if people were picking QB's for their teams?
  15. Nice guy, great individual, bad quarterback. Keep him on as a GA or something if you want him on the team so bad, but this guys days of playing QB are done. Bad OLine or not, I've seen him have 6 seconds in the pocket before and still make bad throws and decisions as as 4 year starting QB.
  16. Maybe we have the resources but maybe those resources are tired of throwing that big amount of money at something that isn't getting fixed. Each time we go into a coaching search it seems we do have the resources and they are willing to do whatever they can to make it work out, but time and time again now it hasn't. Do they still have faith in this program and University?
  17. My question for handling Martinez if he is constantly under pressure due to a terrible OL (Which it is a terrible OL) why they haven't designed more plays to have him either roll out or at least get him moving in the pocket? Or why hasn't Martinez himself made the decision to roll out or get moving in the pocket? He is at his best when he becomes a running threat, that too is when our offense looks at it's best, but he routinely stays in this terrible pocket for far too long and either ends up throwing to the other team, or throws it 10 yards over the WR's head, or takes a sack which often turns into a fumble.
  18. Agreed. Great coaches adapt and evolve with the game and any coach, if they are good enough, can find ways to win at any Power 5 school. I guess it's another baffling reason Frost hasn't worked here. On paper it was all there, he knew the program, he knew the state, he was a Nebraskan, he was a fan, he worked under and played for successful coaches, he himself was a successful head coach, how and why is it not working here? I guess maybe that is the question we have to discuss, why isn't Frost working out here? Is it only because he is a younger head coach and doesn't have that much experience as being a head coach? But the thing is even though Frost isn't winning on the field, it has felt like he has changed the culture for the better at Nebraska. These guys don't quit, they may make the same mistakes over and over and they may get the same results over and over, but they do not quit. They go out fighting in every game, and when the same result is a loss, it's amazing and great to see they still go out there and fight. There are so many other teams around the country that are either dumpster fires and it's clear the players have given up on their coach, or maybe their season isn't as bad as ours, but their guys don't play as hard as ours. I am actually amazed at how not once in the last couple years has it looked like our players have given up. That couldn't be said for a long time prior to Frost. So in my mind, from what I can see, he has changed the culture for the better and the culture is there now. Yes we get talented guys transferring out, but that is the way of college football now. So if it is just in game lack of experience of being a head coach and in a conference like the grind that the Big Ten is, maybe Frost makes experienced hires this go around and it all starts to fall into place. Part of the growing pains you get from a head coach with not that much head coaching experience and coming from a non Power 5 conference. He brought his way here and it didn't work, hire the right guys who have the experience and see what they can do. Because if Frost can get this thing going, it could be an amazing thing for Nebraska. I'm running on here, but think of this too. If Frost ends up working out at Nebraska, imagine what will be said about us. That Nebraska gave Frost an unthinkable 5th year after 4 straight losing seasons, they gave him a 5th year and it started to click. It could make for the argument of patience for coaches and programs all over the place. But instead of being known as the program that has fired numerous coaches after 9 win seasons, it could be talked about that Nebraska finally learned their lesson to be patient and let things develop and grow and it can pay off.
