  1. Cool story, and I can't say im surprised. Riley is an extremely down to earth guy. It's the part of him that makes you want to see him succeed so badly.
  2. If Oklahoma State and Oklahoma win tonight, I am pretty sure they will be going to that game.
  3. Is that with a thought of us going 5-7? If the PAC is sending their entire conference to a bowl game, does that mean even a 6-6 Nebraska team may be left out?
  4. any bowl scenario that us facing Ohio in a bowl?
  5. You don't tell your head coach!?!? Riley finds out from the Morning news. I hope he had a towel ready for the coffee that was spilled on the table.
  6. I sure hope our starting QB, who IF he was the accused, wouldn't come out to the media and say "it sounds like it was consensual"
  7. It's a pretty easy dilemma for the press to fix: Simply don't report the names of ANYONE involved, not the alleged victim, the alleged rapist/assaulter, the location, nothing. There is nothing altruistic about the press' reporting of rape. They do it, and attach the males' name to the allegation, because it provides them with revenue. We've gotten to the point where the press, collectively, has agreed not to provide the names of victims. That's a good thing, and laudable. But they need to go the next step and not report anyone's names, exactly for the reasons you've said. Patrick Kane, the Duke case, now Tommy Armstrong & Jordan Westerkamp - these names are all attached to a heinous word now, "rape." And that's completely unfair to, for certain, Kane and the Duke players. If it turns out there was no assault here, and Armstrong & Westerkamp are completely innocent, great. But their names are the ones attached to this now. It's a double-standard and it's crap, and it should stop. Completely agree and have thought this for many years. Keep ALL names out of the press until something is proven. But that doesn't give tv ratings and website clicks. The media is heartless.

Forever google will hold Armstrong and westerkamps name to that awful word, and as far as anyone knows they had nothing to do with it. I'd sue the media for defamation.
  9. Because the star QB and WR and their friends are trying to have fun and get laid. They should be watching film and lifting...Like Gangwish!I know it's silly to think a college student shouldn't be partying, but really these are young adults and so much potential for hosting a college party could go wrong. As it just did. Or you could go for a nice dinner outside in Paris and end up dead. You can't live in fear of something possibly happening. Oh ok, didn't need to go there. But what has a higher probability of something bad happening? Going to dinner in a city, or having a party with drinking involved with lots of 18-21 year olds. Hmm

  11. I agree with he shouldn't talk to media, but he probably wanted it to make clear he is cleared and so is westerkamp, so people will move on. Otherwise, like someone else mentioned, headline reads sex assault at their house and everyone else is left wondering. This is n awful headline to have over your head and house.
  12. I know these are college students, but that means they are young adults. And with recent headlines with other college athletes and bad decisions, I don't understand why they continue to put themselves in this position. TA and Westerkamp may not be involved in this incident, hope so, but why is the star QB and WR of the college team hosting a party?? Be responsible and this isn't responsible, I know they're in college, but the negative outcomes of hosting a college party far outweight that of not having one. From sex assault to an underage student drinking and potentially driving home and getting into a crash. Just not smart at all.
  13. Reminds me of the VT game in Lincoln. His penalty very well cost us. This is embarassing and i wonder if he got fined for this. I also can't believe he hired Carl.
  14. I feel like Nebraska has gone to Florida a lot as well for bowls recently, and that has not helped build a recruiting pipeline in the state of Florida. Texas bowl destination would be nice.
  15. Just a guess but perhaps Rivals is dropping us because we have not added recruits whereas many other programs have been picking up commits lately. I think our class is actually better with the RB switch to Bryant out of St Louis. He is much better than the TX kid. IMO. Light years better! Bigger, stronger and faster. Like the post below you, I saw we lost a JUCO in Johnson, but can't imagine that kid was worth 14 recruiting spots. Hope we get some big time commits to finish off the year. Seriously if we can get a mid 20's class (Like we have been putting together the last 7 years) then that would be great considering the season, and also our 2017 class looks very strong.
  16. i would LOVE to beat Bret Bielema and Arkansas. I do NOT want Oregon in a bowl and makes no sense for what would be a 6-6 Nebraska team to play a red hot possibly 8 or 9 win Oregon team.
  17. I saw last night on Rivals recruiting rankings we have dropped dramatically. Oddly, we've dropped after these two big wins where it seems this team is turning around for the better. Anyone know why on Rivals ranking we went from like the 30's to the 50's?
  18. At Oregon State, the Beavers under Riley always got better and tougher as the season went on. However, they always seemed slow out of the gate of the season. Thats evidence that he coaches them up as the year goes on, we just hope that he gets good talent in here that there is no slowness at the start of the season. I do think it's a combination of a lot of things. I am excited for the Iowa game. Can make our season and really give us momentum going into next year.
  19. We beat iowa, knocking off 2 top 10 teams in one month, not getting blown out in any game besides the vortex that was Purdue and I will be counting the days to 2016 kickoff! I was all ready to buy Mike Riley the nicest Schwin bicycle to ride back to Corvallis. A 7-6 finish considering? I'd be sold.
  20. That microphone makes it sound like they are talking from a helicopter.
