It would take a miracle for this team to win the Big West...the signs thus far indicate that we will lose to Wisconsin, Ohio state, Purdue, Iowa, and Maryland. I would not be surprised if we also lost to northwestern and Minnesota. We have yet to play four quarters of football. Northern Illinois is no joke. They have a very good team. They might beat us if we don’t wake up in time. With all the fan support and the HUGE salary that Scott Frost is getting, this fan base better see some good wins this year. Enough is enough...no excuse for the piss poor play in the second half.

I agree, this thread needs to be removed as anyone (other than Nebraska Fans) who sees it will laugh at us and will think we are pathetic given the horrible play of Martinez over the past two games. Until we go undefeated and prove we can beat the likes of Wisconsin, Ohio state, Iowa, Michigan, we should not be talking Heisman.

What worries me is that we have no consistent running game at all. Every time we try to run through the tackles, we get stuffed. Running sideways helps a little but will not help against teams with speed. Either we are not utilizing our running backs correctly or our coaches are not calling the right plays or our Oline is not capable of opening holes for these runners. Colorado state put up more yards on Colorado than we did. That is alarming. The big big plays we allowed are also a big concern. We will face many good QB and if we continue to get gashed like this, then we are not going to win many games. We will play Purdue at their backyard and their QB is much better than Martinez in my opinion. With all the great recruits we got, we are not seeing the productivity on the field.

It seems to me that the Nebraska fans are doing everything in their power to lift this team, which keeps disappointing us week in, week out. The Nebraska fans filled Folsom stadium today and made it feel like a home game yet our team found a way to disappoint these loyal fans. We keep making excuses for the team and Frost. I am sorry but I am tired of all the bullcrap hype before the season only for the team to lay a goose egg when the season starts. Whether the fault lies on the players or the coaches, I don’t care, this fan base deserves better. We have been patient for 20 years now. How long until we get back to being a team that competes for championships! Another decade? Never? It would be nice if we saw improvement...this feels like another 5-7 season if we don’t start showing some grit and passion.

We are not using spielman enough...we are inconsistent in our play calling...and get stagnant for long periods which kill our momentum and puts so much strain on our defense. Our defense was on the field way too long in the second half.

I learned the following: (1) Adrian Martinez makes horrible decisions when the game is on the line. He holds on to the ball and gets sacked instead of running and throwing the ball out of bounds. He also consistently missed open guys and throw it to well covered guys. Absolutely no killer instinct what so ever. (2) coaches half time speech was garbage and non inspiring. In fact, they should never ever repeat whatever was said because it had the opposite effect. (3) I have never seen such a Jekyll and Hyde team. A tale of two halves. We dominate the first half and sleepwalk the second half. (4) our offense will not win many games with this performance (5) our defense has some issues at safety (6) we will not compete very well against Wisconsin, Ohio state, and Iowa. Heck, I doubt we even beat northern Illinois next week. (7) if we make a bowl this year, it would be a step in the right direction. (8) very disappointing game given its importance. Losing two times in a row to a buffs team that will probably finish 6-6 is not a good start to this season.

It is so nice to see another team commit more penalties than us.

This series left little to be desired...sometime Martinez needs to look for the smaller passing plays where guys are open rather than go for the big plays...

I like how the Colorado AD was asking the crowd to be civil. At this point, if they are not civil, they will get a Nebraska whopping on the stands along with the whopping in the field.

So far I learned that our team is capable of great things and the post per page in the current system is ridiculous and annoying.
