  1. Yep. We're still trying to catch up physically in the S&C and we have almost no depth across the roster. Those things seem small, but as we saw tonight, it makes a huge difference on the field and in the final score.
  2. This ^^^ x1,000. The defense was, way more often than not, in the exact correct position they needed to be in--they just couldn't make the play. There are three key areas Nebraska needs to address/fix if they want to start winning: 1. Reduce the damn penalties. How many holding calls? Those are drive killers. 2. Make the plays on defense when opportunities arise. 3. Don't give up so many 1st downs once they get a team to 3rd down.
  3. So I am supposed to know you didn't actually PM him? To be honest, I'd ban both of you for two weeks if I could. The level of childish absurdity you BOTH displayed was ridiculous. You both are supposedly mature adults, act like it.
  4. Yes and according to a post, you PMd yort to (I presume) meet up to fight? Over what? A college football team, that you're both fans, their less than stellar performance? Because both of you said stupid s#!t in the heat of the moment that you're going to actually fight over? There are definitely things worth fighting over in this world, this is NOT one of them. I swear, it's like grade school around here.
  5. I agree with you that this team does have some fight. But sometimes you gotta let things go. This season is a dumpster fire. It is a football team's "How-To" manual to defeat themselves. But whatever you're feeling right now, breathe, and let it go. Be the better person. And besides, is BB really worth getting angry at? I doubt it. We're all frustrated at how this season has gone.
  6. Not saying you're a bad guy figuratively or otherwise. Just saying both your and BBs behavior is embarrassing.
  7. And @B.B. Hemingway, you're not helping the situation with your embarrassing behavior either. Good grief, you and yort are acting like 12 year olds.
  8. @yort2000, Wanting to fight another Husker fan because of some stupid disagreement on a game thread? Go sober up because honestly you're embarrassing yourself.
  9. He still makes absurd mistakes: 1) not throwing the ball away, 2) carrying the ball like a loaf of bread, and 3) too often locking in on his primary receiver. But yeah, he gonna be really good.
  10. Our players on defense are in the right position, they're right there--but they cant make the play.
  11. Not surprised by this at all. He's going to a program where losing is acceptable and no one will ever ask him to do strength and conditioning.
  12. Care to expound on this cryptic drive by? Such as explaining why and how this will "...go better than you (we) expect." I am all for your post, for the record, I just would like to hear some rationale behind it.
  13. For the record, we're all pretty much aware that things could get worse.
  14. To the rest of your post, I agree.
  15. He was, to my recollect, the RB on the field at the first snap, so technically that makes him "the starter." And "Co #1" probably means starter for all intents and purposes. After all, you don't put the #2, or Co #2, or even lower, on the field at the start of the game over the #1 or Co #1 do you?
  16. @StPaulHusker, here is what we know: 1. Greg Bell was the starter. 2. Greg Bell thought he had the #1 spot locked down. 3. Greg Bell got demoted. 4. Greg Bell announces he's leaving the team. 5. Greg Bell says, "...not being used to his full potential." 6. This coaching staff has been brutally honest and up-front with players about what the expectations are. We hear it literally in every single press conference. 7. The message is clear: Players are merely renting that starting spot and rent is due every single day. 8. Team first. Team second. Team third. Team fourth. Individuals --> is the door. 9. The previous head coach ran a soft program with no accountability. Coach Frost is changing this right before our eyes. Interesting that "not being used to his full potential" only came to light after he got demoted. Personally, I don't like that Greg Bell left, but this clearly is a case where a player got mad for being demoted, and pulled a Cartman--took his ball and went home. As far as your comment as to when coaches bear responsibility? I say, year three contingent upon circumstances. The sad reality is that players leave when they're not named the starter. It happens all the time. My guess, it went something like this: Bell: Coach, I want to leave. I thought I put in the work you required to keep my spot. Frost: Stay and work harder. Prove to us that you want to play. Bell: Naw, Ima bounce. Frost: Well okay, we'll release you from your scholarship. Best of luck to you.
