  1. For some reason i was thinking that all the predetermined elegibility had to be used up before one could apply. might just be for specific cases though....i dunno Steve-O is gonna be an animal, i love the quote at the end of the Glenn article about "that wont happen again" because he under estimated glenn and let him get a few extra yards.... thats just against his team-mates i can only imagine how crazy he will be against other teams.... you hear about players who play with a wreckless abandon.
  2. at 230lbs.... somewhat fast is scary... just imagine at full speed what the opposing corners are going to think/FEEL, poor little guys . then when they have the wind knocked out of them they can watch our other guys blowing by them.... not just other RB's but our WRs too.... weeeee
  3. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=38&u_sid=2143899 Gotta love to hear this stuff! Lucky rolling off a 55 yarder vs. the #1's, and Glenn bowling over Octavien and Green for extra yards. im licking my chops while reading this!
  4. I too was suprised by the recievers, I think i remember a comment from the coaches about hardy being 165 soaking wet....with the afro. but i think that was right when he got on campus. has anyone heard anything about David Harvey? I remember when we got the kid the coaches loved his work ethic and thought he was a real diamond in the rough. We need a good athletic TE to step up.
  5. Well, im not a colts fan, in fact i really dont like them at all....... but that will all change if our main man goes there. I have no doubt in my mind that he will find himself on the field and i will be rooting for him wherever he is. He gave so much to this program.... I can see him already when they go through the starting line ups for NFL games, "Cory Ross...THE University of Nebraska." :horns2
  6. And i think Auburn and USC are both examples that you can have more than one back be successful on your team in the same year. I have been anticipating The Leon to make an impact in a big way. His blocking is the thing i have no idea about, but as far as knowing the playbook he has a lot of time to learn before next year, so he will have a jump on wilson. I Expect him to make the 3 deep early in the season unless BJax proves he isnt made of glass, and comes back in full form. I said it before, i think LJax will be a suprise at the spring game.... but its just a hunch, i have been wrong plenty of times before
  7. Just out of curiousity, do you think the game could be close? We have some proven backups in a lot of positions... and some positions which are pretty much unspoken for, so could you see it being close? I am still waiting for LJax to bust out, i hope that its on the 2nd team squad this year at running back, catching some passes and making some good runs. And like was said before i think Glenn is gonna be a stud in this game along with Taylor (which should be a given). Also, any WR's gonna make an unexpected impact???
  8. Exactly... he cant put up good stats when he is in the hospital. I think we are damn lucky he made it through last year, and our luck could run out quickly. Lets Get that o-line goin... sheesh. I see no reason why he wont be a Big12 candidate if he doesnt end up on a stretcher, he should be quite a bit better statistically, but heisman, anything is possible but...well lets just say.... i'll have one of what he's having cuz that is a pretty long shot imo.
  9. I thought i had heard that he could be a possible target for TE. I am not quite sure how it works but would he be a 3 to play 2 guy, so we could RS him, give him some time to train and still have him for two years?
  10. I was thinking that same thing, Eric. This kid has been here the whole time, and i know the coaches have seen him... i just don't understand why they would have waited to offer a guy that is supposed to be as good as he is, i really hope there is some underlying issue. I also had that feeling that maybe our coaches were too busy looking elsewhere thinking they could afford to relax in their own backyard and offer him a little later and miami pulled a quick one on us. As far as i am concerned though, there is a lot of time before signing day so im not gonna worry about it, i hope he sneaks over to a couple husker games this year and gets his red blood pumping.
  11. how many games could we really afford to take a chance with beck in there. I hope we can agree that Taylor was the better QB for us last year, and i know i want the best in there when not only the game, but the direction of our proud program is on the line. we HAD to win last year, and there were so many close games we HAD to leave in Taylor, after all Beck is playing behind a TOP 5 senior QB according to a certain respected Draft expert. When Beck was thrown in, he was thrown to the wolves, ugly purple cat like wolves...he was put in cold, pry not mentally prepared, against a first string defense when the game was on the line... and the kid made a gutsy throw that ultimately led to a nebraska victory, so if you ask me? the kid is just getting warmed up, he will be good.... good enough to execute what these coaches need to lead us to the promised land....
  12. These kinds of things happen, i don't think that he needs to be booted off the team, he should be punished rather severely though. I am sure he knows better than to do this, and i doubt he will do it again after the state punishes him.... now if i had reason to believe tomerlin was a trouble maker, someone who was constantly causing problems and getting into trouble then yes he should be off the team. i know its no excuse but a few years back when i got a MIC i blew a .11% but passed every one of the other sobriety tests. So sometimes its tough to say how impaired he even was. I dunno, this is a crappy and tough situation to deal with. Didnt Beau Davis get a DUI a few months ago?
  13. I love that these coaches are the first to make an offer on some of these guys, i have to think it will make a difference. hopefully the coaches get a chance to make a connection with these kids before somone else tries to budge in. ps. is there a reason why moreno valley sounds familiar, did we have a recruit from there in the last year or two?
  14. If he isn't that good, I think with our depth we can afford to take a chance on a sleeper. physically he looks good. Well i saw this kid in person at a basketball game about 2 weeks ago, i am 6'4" and i would say he is pry more about 6'2" 165lbs.... i asked someone from that town about him, they tell me he can make some circus catches. I dont see him getting a schollie offer, but maybe asked to walk on.... i have been wrong before though
  15. I am hoping we will get 2 signal callers next year. One upper echelon, and one of those underrated 3 star players this staff seems to find(or maybe this will be philip bates??). Playing time will be a big bonus for us to hold in front of them, obviously having a second consecutive successful season under these coaches will help too, maybe less trash talk by others about how our coaches are on thin ice. Its hard to believe that next year wont be a success on and off of the field for our huskers.
  16. good win for the huskers, i hate to admit its tough to watch husker basketball. The game just seems like a trainwreck sometimes... a trainwreck with a halftime. We need a game changer!!!!
  17. you saw the thread a week too late... as did I
  18. I am going with Purify. He is physically prepared to play at this level, and he can be put right in the action....he just needs to learn a few routes (and audibles) for a few plays we can get him in the action with. Carl Nicks will have a great impact...if he doesnt get immediate playing time he will be pushing for it and it will in turn help out our starters. Defensively, we are solid enough that its hard for me to imagine one of the new guys pushing for time right away. At times our secondary looked a little weak so i am gonna have to say Andre Jones will come in, maybe as a Nickel back to play early. He is a physically good specimen and was said to be the best CB prospect in the nation, JUCO and High School recruits included.
  19. Well if there is just booth reviews in the last 2 minutes of the halves like NFL the game woulda ended the exact same, but either way you cant challenge a call. or "no call" on penalties for that matter. i dont think there is any way to spin it to convince me we should have lost
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2324998 theres the article i found about it.
  21. B+. Many of the reasons already mentioned. Star power lacking but who cares, the freshmen all american teams were dominated by 3* players, and i think there were more 2*s than 5*s even... i think the holes were filled, - but DT was a place of need that wasn't wrapped up - along with getting a QB every year. + WR was boosted immensly this year and + we got some talented defensive backs. + Getting a couple offensive linemen was a good thing too, but i think we have a good foundation as far as that goes, Murtha, Patrick, Slauson and so on, dont forget about those guys that RS'd this year (Roark, Picous...i think these guys are still slated to be OL) + We also got ourselves a pretty good TE, who should be able to RS with Herian back and Tomerlin in the mix. Next year we get another Stud QB and RB, along with some defensive linemen. I think next year will be our best class yet, so i am pumped.
  22. I have to wonder if this talk was more or less leon saying, i want to play RB or i am transferring. because there were rumors of transfers floating before...some thought leon might be one of them. I doubt thats how it went, and i hope it didn't. I am still waiting to see this guy with the ball in his hands. Didn't he recieve an award for best scout team offensive player? he has what it takes but i think he wanted to see the field as much as, and as soon as possible which is why he was accepting these changes. i wonder if he is going to be willing to RS or if he has enough knowledge of our offense to come in right away. I am glad to see him back at this position. good luck to the Leon.
  23. alls it takes is a 300 pound DT running a 4.9 to get Taylor to run a 4.7. Im not too worried he makes good decisions and he might just play faster...which is what counts to me.
  24. hey will, what kinda vertical do you have? i know you play basketball so i would imagine you can rise up. (speaking of which, how is that season goin for ya?)
