Woah woah woah you have me all wrong, i thought we were talking about the current system. In an 8 team playoff of course we could do a CC auto bid, I have no problem with that. All of my comments pertain to making a CC a qualifier for a 4 team system. I don't agree with that.

Not worked up because people don't like bama. I dont care about bama but i think its funny you let your dislike for bama affect your reasoning. Replace bamas name with any other team and i would argue the same thing. But continue to be mad about it there buddy, its ok.

Dont know about 1 but 2) you arent making sense OSU- 2 losses, worst loss unranked Iowa by 31 Alabama- 1 loss, worst loss #6 Auburn by 12 Yet OSU would get the nod even though they lost more conference games and had a worse loss 3) the only teams that would have been considered for the playoff would have been OSU, USC and the other 3 teams that made it even though both Wisconsin and Alabama had better cases imo than OSU and USC. But the field to choose from is only 5 teams because you can only choose conference champions. USC and OSU had more losses and worse losses in the regular season than both Wiscy and Bama but Wiscy and Bama would have been disqualified.

Whatever buddy. Not a bama fan but i dont think its some big conspiracy. 2 threads complaining about alabama on this board and i think its dumb. They are one of the best teams. Not defending bama im just defending the results of the committee. I think they got it as right as could have without putting UCF in. The conference slate would matter but the regular season would be devalued. You could drop a few not worry about it. OSU would have had a 31 point loss to an unranked team erased. You limit the field to 5 teams, how does that not devalue the regular season? You eliminate all results except for a few.

Maybe getting talked about but both teams lost their shot with those losses.

By having a better conference record than the teams in your division. You could lose 3 OOC games and that won't affect your chances whatsoever.

You are butthurt about the all SEC championship even though its likely the 2 best teams in the country. You are arguing for the 1 team I do think deserves to be there. So yea i guess you are right, but i just understand that wasnt going to happen. Next best team was alabama. If you want a lesser quality team in there because they won their conference i guess thats your opinion

I've said over and over in this thread UCF deserved that spot but the fact of the matter is they weren't getting it no matter what. ND would have gotten in before UCF. Only way UCF makes it is in an 8 team system or back to back undefeated seasons

Why have a regular season if youre just going to give the 4 spots to the winners of the CC games. Imo the decisions they have made have given more value to the regular season. The lesson is dont lose twice.

Im fine with a 8 team playoff under that system. I was talking about this year under the current system.

Every team you'd rather see make it had just as much of a chance as Bama when the season started. OSU and USC did it to themselves. OSU beats Iowa and we don't have this problem. USC beats Wazzu and this conversation becomes an alternate reality.

Why doesn't bama deserve to be there but a team that has lost twice does just because they won their conference? The only teams i would consider for the 4th spot are Wisconsin and UCF. The spot should have gone to UCF if the criteria was "who are the 4 most deserving teams in college football" but that isn't the criteria. Wisconsin had the only legit case to be in there that the committee was going to look at and the resumes are pretty similar. Alabama is just the better, more talented team. The criteria is what it is for a reason. I wouldn't want to see USC in the playoff or OSU for that matter. Bama is the more consistent team and they proved they deserved to be there in the semi. I want the best teams in the country duking it out, not the best teams who also won their conference.

Exactly. Every team that was a contender has a similar story. Wisconsin beats OSU they are in. If PSU doesn't drop a game to MSU they are likely in. If USC didn't get curb stomped by ND, or hell if they could have slipped past Washington State, they would be in. Other teams had a chance and they all blew it

But they didn't and I don't rember people being that upset about it around here. The precedent was set. USC? Really? Thats exactly why we don't want only conference champs. Just like OSU was given the chance last year. Imo only one team earned the 4th spot and that was UCF who was never going to make it anyway. No other team earned it. OSU certainly didn't, losing by 5 touchdowns to Iowa. USC didn't earn it. Wisconsin had a chance to earn it but they didn't either. So no one earned that spot, no one else deserved it besides 1 team and we all know G5 always gets snubbed. That shouldn't be a surprise. If Alabama didn't get in I promise you UCF would NOT have been their replacement. So please tell me, who did earn that spot? Every team had their flaw, Bama was just the best of the bunch.

Alabama was one of tge best 4 and they deserve to be there. Its pretty annoying everyone wants to whine about it

Didn't calculate Olave or Palmer and I just removed Montgomery and we are still easily top 30(based on last 5 years). I think we end up top 30. We are already sitting at 40 with 6-7 commits to go.
