  1. End of the first quarter. 0-0 Iowa is playing bend don't break defense, but Wisconsin moved the ball fairly easily. Iowa is getting good pressure though. Iowa has struggled some moving the ball but they have been doing pretty decent on first and second down for the most part. After the first drive they have been grabbing 3 and 4 yards a run which gives them a chance on 3rd down being that it's 3 or 4 yards to the first.
  2. Replay seemed to show he made the first down. Golly I hate it when Iowa gets a bad call........hahahahahahahaha I can't really see because I'm watching the sky cam version on watch espn so I'm from an end zone to end zone perspective with no commentary or replays But I will say I was really surprised when they said it was 4th down. I though he clearly made it
  3. 3rd and 10 from Iowas 35 a flag was thrown for roughing the passer but they picked it up so Wisconsin drive stalls out. 0-0 with a minute left in the first
  4. Iowa pressures the qb who makes a great throw to the RB to turn 3rd and 4 into a 20 yard play
  5. Iowa gets just past mid field but is forced to punt
  6. Wisconsin throws on 3rd and 2 on the 15 yard line from shotgun. Langsdorf is that you???
  7. Go for it, I would like to hear updates on that since I'm stuck at work. Iowa went 3 & out on their first drive. Wisconsin moving the ball, they are inside the redzone.
  8. Can this be the Iowa Wisconsin game discussion thread for the time being?
  9. No bad juju. I've already done my nebraska victory ritual. I've done it for every game since we lost to Purdue last year, except the Iowa game because I forgot it was on a friday.
  10. So did Illinois But we're not playing Illinois today. We're playing Purdue....and they totally whooped our ass last year. We'd better not take them lightly....we better throw the entire arsenal of short passes at them.JS and it is this year not last year. This team isn't taking Purdue lighty. The fans can take this game however they like.
  11. That was my guess..... somebody get John Baylor on the phone
  12. Gebbia may be playing more 4 and 5 star guys as well though as Calabasas is in a larger classification
  13. fax machine is underrated. Best closing percentage in recruiting. I don't think we need to win 11 or 12 to pull top recruits. It does help, there is no doubt about that, but alot of other factors involved.
  14. Newby and Ozigbo should both have great days if they both get solid carry numbers. Defensively I'm liking K. Williams today
  15. We won't. Even if we're up 278-0, we'll still give up a TD in garbage time. It's how all games like these work. Put in the backups, you'll give up points. yep. Hard to shut people out anymore, it wasn't easy to begin with. Don't have the talent of a Michigan or Alabama defense and even those teams can have a hard time holding somebody to zero. Unless that somebody is Rutgers of course
  16. Reduce the conferences to a power 4 with 48 teams pay a fee and pool the money like you are suggesting. Then each team plays every team in its conference, conference champions play a round Robin tournament, runner ups, 3rd place all the way down to the worst teams in the conference do the same. Every team plays 14 games, some years the national champ is clearly decided, other years we will have no clue who should be the champ but it will be fun and conference strength will really be shown
  17. I think this is the opposite of a trap game. The players know 6-0 means nothing at all if next week they are 6-1. They know that this game is a must win in every definition. A loss to Purdue would put us in a very tough position in the conference race. A loss to Purdue after last year is embarrassing. A loss to Purdue with this start is unacceptable. A loss to Purdue with a chance to make this a magical season in the following two weeks looming is tragic. I think this team understands that and is focusing 100% on having a complete and determined effort on Saturday. If that is the case it will be very difficult for us to lose this game.
  18. Purdues run game is pretty bad and our secondary is pretty good so maybe, just maybe we could pitch a shutout. But it's doubtful, Blough is pretty talented, he will find a way to at least knock a field goal through if we don't give it to them first.
  19. You aren't going to be swayed. You've said so earlier in this thread. The fact that you ignore evidence that refutes points you try to make proves that you are ignorant to what the protests are about and have no desire to learn. And like Nebfanatic said, ignorance is merely a lack of knowledge. There are many topics I am ignorant about. But I don't go on message boards to try and have a discussion about those topics. I made my first comment on page 3 because I hate anthem protests. I wasn't intending to get this into it. Simple as that. Nobody is forcing you to post in this thread. But when you do, you are taking part in a discussion. If you refuse to see the other side and refuse to learn about why they are protesting, you are going to get backlash. I see the other side, and I don't like it. Either you are doing the same thing as me, or you are refusing to see my side yourself.you seem very considerate of the circumstances that may cause a police officer to pull the trigger on a suspect. I can see that those circumstances can be very difficult and put alot of pressure on the officer. You don't seem to be as considerate of the circumstances that drive a young African Americans to commit a crime. You don't consider the circumstances that cause these people to act erratic when they encounter police. Every action has a motive and not all evil is created from evil intentions. In fact many sins have been committed with best intentions in mind. People don't just want to commit crime all of the time. There are reasons that cause this behave this way. When do we start treating criminals like humans beings with probably more struggles than the rest of us know. You don't seem open to considering this side and that is the difference. I understand your side and I think we need to find a solution that helps both sides. You refuse to believe there is a problem to be dealt with at all. So you're saying that because they had a bad past, it's okay for them to commit a crime? I'm sorry that I fail to see how that's acceptable. I'm saying sometimes people feel like they don't have a choice due to the vicious cycle going on. Im saying you are forgiving officers mistakeso because of circumstances but your refuse to do the same for other people. I'm not saying committing crime is ok, but I am saying circumstances given to alot of individuals drive them to crime because MOST people are products of their environment and become what's around them. To be a great person and follow your vision to its completion is very very rare. Most people see what's around them and may hate it but eventually through repetition they become numb and start doing the things they despise. When the people doing crime are the only ones getting ahead in your neighborhood, it becomes a serious temptation. Im suggesting we treat criminals like they are human and try helping them to become better instead of treating them like they are nothing. Because doing that we ensure they do not get better and they go out there and do the same thing. Instead of just condemning them we try and understand them, see where they went wrong and try and help them correct it. People won't give a sh#t about the law until the law gives a sh#t about them.

I have alot more to say about this mostly concerning giving people actual second chances where we give people resources in prison and teach people to be better instead of training people to come back so prisons make $ but I don't want to get too off topic
  21. by all means let's move the thread to P&R I have been trying for the past page to get the thread back to the topic of protesting the anthem. If it's not going to, then by all means let's do it.We are having a discussion on police brutality and the need or no need of law enforcement reform. The protest is meant to draw attention to police brutality and shootings. I think we are right on topic, or at least within the range of the topic I will change gears if your think there is a point to discuss that is more relevant to the topic of the thread. Anthem protests are bad and so is the motive. There is my insightfulness. what is the motive in your opinion? Read everything I said in the last page. I want to know because if your believe the motive relates to police brutality, and you think that motive is wrong because you don't think brutality exists that's fine. But what do you have to say about the 117 countries in the UN that slammed the US on police brutality last year? Why are other countries warning people of color traveling to the United States about the police? Is this all media propaganda or is there something real behind it? This is an honest question and I will accept your answer either way because I honestly believe it's some of both.
